Talent acquisition encompasses the strategies, tactics, and processes for identifying, recruiting, and retaining the human resources a company needs. It includes developing, implementing, and evaluating programs for sourcing, recruiting, hiring, and orienting talent. In addition, Post- pandemic there has been a shift in working environments from being in-person at the office to hybrid. As public administrators working in all levels of government working remotely may not be widely accepted when serving the public. This workshop will focus on the strategies to assess the current and future workforce needs.

Affordable and workforce housing is a hot topic in our society today. Affordable housing compels many people with low incomes to live in overcrowded or unsafe homes, and hundreds of thousands of people can’t afford a home at all. Whereas workforce housing provides the workforce within the area the opportunity to purchase homes at below-market prices. Various municipalities are creating ways to overcome the housing crisis. In addition, Economic Development is the creation of wealth from which the community benefits. Local government seeks to improve the economic well-being and quality of life for a community including but not limited to business creation, retention, and expansion.
This workshop will focus on strategies in place to address the housing needs of a growing workforce looking to work and live in the same areas and economic development efforts.

LOCATION: FIU/FMU COOPERATIVE BUILDING AUDITORIUM
This track will focus on the process of identifying goals and learning new skills to help you grow and succeed professionally. There will be discussions in the areas of resume building, branding, skills development, civic leadership, and effective management. In addition, this track will focus on Emerging Leaders looking to sharpen their skills or individuals in transition from one position to another.
