How has Warped Tour been treating you? Great, today's probably the hottest day. I refuse to wear shorts, so I'm the hottest guy here. You know temperature wise. Since it's your second year playing, are you excited for anything particular this year at Warped? We have a lot of friends, and I like hanging out with my friends. Theres some good bands: The Story So Far, Citizen, Never Shout Never and some other friends. Any weird fan encounters on Warped this year? Nothing bad, not really. We have had kids bring us garden gnomes just for fun. I guess that's weird. We had one holding a skateboard and it fell off the counter last night so now it just looks like Joey Garcia.
Who is your favorite band on Warped this year? My favorite band here is probably The Early November. If you had to choose between this year's run on warped or last year's run on warped which would you say was the most fun? Last year was fun because we had a lot of friends on the tour and its always nice being able to go and hang out with them. This year there's not as many friends, but we have a new record out Heart Attack so I like playing off the new record compared to the old one which has been out for a year. What was the recording process like for your latest album? It was cool. We kind of started writing it on last years Warped tour, and we finished in December and started recording in January. It's a bit of a long process for us, but it was good. How have your fans recieved the new album? Good I think. We play 10 songs a day and out of those ten we play 3 new ones and it seem to go pretty well. We've been selling a lot of CDs so i think really good. How have the shows you have played gone so far? Great, you know we played main stage one day and that was awesome. Different cities or bigger shows or smaller shows that happens, but so far it's been great. Describe your live show in one word? Oh shit...fun? We like to have a good time. We sing sad songs about girls and then goof around. What have been some of your favorite tours? We just did a tour back in November with The Story So Far, Less than Jake, and New Found Glory that was pretty cool. The Suppy Nation tour that we just did with The Story So Far, Tonight Alive, Citizen, and The American Scene was really fun.

There's a couple of bands that have helped us out a lot: Senses Fail, New Found Glory they've helped us out on more then one tour in different parts of the world. Both of those bands are kind of like big brothers for us. Definitely our fans too. Any parting words for your fans? So how has Warped tour been going so far? Matt Ridenour (bass): Good, its really fun, today is a bit hot, but tomorrow I will say [Vegas] was fun. Mark McMillion (guitar): [Vegas] has the hottest day so far
but when we are back from tour we dont have jobs so we get to see them. Matt: We either not get to see our friends and family, but when were not on tour we're just home, so theres not another job or anything so we get to see them. It's all or nothing.
Are you guys excited to do anything or see a band Describe your show in one word. in particular at warped this year? Matt: Exciting, we play a lot of everything, I Matt: I was really stoked to go to a casino, all the know a lot of bands like to play their new stuff, and not so much old stuff. We want to play a bit bands are awesome, but it's too hot to see of everything. anybody today, but we will see some bands tomorrow.
Most meaningful song you guys have written?
Anything odd happen on Warped tour so far? Matt: Not really, we've done Warped twice before Mark and Matt: "Oceans" so we kind of know the drill, some things have changed but everything is mostly the same. There Over the past 12 years of being a band how have you guys grown? was a wrestling match, that was kind of sweet. Mark: Well were next to Bass pro-shop today... Matt: I mean we all are friends, and thats cool [laughs] because we've never had anyone quit or get mad So how have the crowds at Warped been treating at anybody. So we've grown together like that. Music wise our new record is like a concept of you guys? that. We would have not been ambitious about. Matt and Mark: Really really great. How was the writing process for the new album? Matt: It was really good. [We] just sat down and wrote as many songs as possible because thats how we write best. We try to write two songs a day and write a bunch then get rid of all the bad ones. For us its quantity over quality, then we weed out the things that you dont instantly like and then make it as quality, so we kind of work in reverse. How have fans recieved the new album? Mark: So far so good. We've been playing one or two new songs a night, and when you release a new album you have to see howfans react. Who has been a big supporter of you guys over the years? Mark: Poppie! Matt: Yeah our tour manager (Poppie), Kevin Lyman, I would love to say our record label, but no. We switch labels a bunch. The fans that have stuck by us, which is really cool. What's one thing you miss before you were in Hawthorne heights? Mark: We don't get to see our families as much, but this doesn't happen over night, but when we
What are some of your favorite tours? Matt: Every warped tour has been awesome, we've toured with Fall out Boy in 2006, that had All American Rejects, and From first to last. It was really cool because we were right in the middle in a arena, and we dont really do arena shows, so you just look out to kids with glow sticks and like nachos and it's just really bizarre. The whole thing was kind of comical but very memorable. Any last words for your fans? Mark: Thank you! Matt: Thanks to everyone for supporting our band, we've been around for a long time, and theres new bands to check out and it's wonderful. We appreciate everyone who has stuck with us. TO WRITE LOVE ON HER ARM What does To Write Love on Her Arms all about? Jerry (TWLOHA Representative): To Write Love on Her Arms is an organization that is directed to help people with depression, self injury and suicide. We try to inspire and encourage. We invest in treatment and recovery.
How long have you guys been doing this on warped? This is our seventh year on Warped Tour and we've been around since 2006.
What is the best way to get in touch with your organization? Either at a Warped Tour where we can connect you to some resources or direct you to our website (www.twloha.com) we have a list of find help info in different areas, all over the country and all over the world.
How many people have you helped since 2006? It's probably impossible to put an exact number on it, I've done this since 2009 just from people who have come to the tent it is always encouraging knowing that they are getting better. It doesn't matter how many people we help, just as long as they know its okay to hurt, and it is going to get better.
Do you have people who come up to you and thank you for what you've done? Yes, every day we have a different story from someome new or someone we've seen before or just friends that we meet. Its incredible to hear these stories from people because we've seen so much success with these treatments and just to know how they're doing it's great.
What inspires your apparel? All the merchandise we sell was inspired by the people that we have helped.
