Claudia When you trust your point of view, that’s when you start taking pictures. The lightness of the ballerina dancing, contrasts with the relaxed gestures rendered even more transparent with time.
The muslin costumes are so diaphanous, and the movements so true to life that it has to be seen to be believed; it is just impossible to describe. It is true that I tried to capture the most delicate nuances by using shaded tones. I tried reinventing the neutral, milky tone, whilst the background lighting brings out the brilliant white of the tutus that give rhythm to the composition.
Buttes-Chaumont For me, "Mystery and Melancholy of a Street" perfectly captures the unexpected horror of the pandemic: an innocent child, running headlong towards an unknown figure, standing just out of frame. They are photos of places that can bring both nostalgia and/or unease depending on the location photographed that are mostly devoid of things and thus have removed context. These spaces are often places tied to a lot of emotion. When robbed of the things and people that make these places what they are, they take on this unreal dream aspect that inspires different emotions. For me, I feel sorrow seeing the passage and transition of things from their glory days to the slow fade into memory until forgotten, abandoned, and alone.
