DANCING IN A PANDEMIC Throughout the pandemic and the many lockdowns we have had to endure since March 2020, so many people have suffered. In my first series of photographs I chose to document the movements of a dancer who hadn’t been able to dance for over a year due to Coronavirus. She said that for the last twelve months she felt like a bird trapped inside of a cage, unable to spread her wings.

STRANGERS Interacting and connecting with strangers, something that was once part of my every day life has now become almost abnormal and daunting to me.

While studying at Spéos I quickly recognised that taking photographs of people is a passion of mine, however being in and out of lockdowns in London I struggled to approach people. I chose to do a series of portraits where I had to engage with complete strangers that I met outside of the school and ask them to pose for me.

Something that the strangers, like myself, felt was now abnormal. Interacting with strangers.

ALLOTMENT IN LOCKDOWN The allotment is a popular place for many people in London who don’t have the luxury of their own gardens, with the waiting list being over 800 people long. I chose to do a series of photographs documenting the goings on in the allotment.

For the majority of people I met, their allotment has been their escape and place of peace throughout this pandemic. Eccentric and full of colour is just one way to describe both the allotment and the people there. It really is their happy place.
