UK /ˌbɒd.i dɪsˈmɔː.fi.ə/ US /ˌbɑː.di dɪsˈmɔːr.fi.ə/
a
a condition in which someone falsely believes that there is something seriously wrong with the size or shape of their body
This is a photo series about Body Dysmorphia and how this mental health issue can affect ones relationship between food and daily life. I decided to focus on one person because of my very close relationship with her and my extensive knowledge of her own personal journey with BDD. I mostly used ash and very saturated colours to create a feeling of discomfort, re ecting the inner struggles that come with this disorder. The layout is also a conscious way to showcase this project like an editorial piece, and takes the way we view bodies within advertisements and spotlights reality instead of the fantasy we are being sold
