ASSEMBLING I spent all my childhood training in professional swimming team. Intrigued by my own experience, I started this project. This is a story takes place in a sports training school in my hometown, Zhejiang Province, China. Came in at a very young age, these girls won’t leave until 18 years old. Days are repetitive with strict rules to be obeyed. Confined, isolated from the outside world, I can feel their yearning for a bit of individuality among a collective group.

The outbreak of COVID-19 hit the world unexpectedly in early 2020, and we are obliged to change the ways we live. I’m documenting the new “normal” life for Chinese.

Born in China in 1991, Qin is a reportage and documentary photographer mostly working in China. With an educational background of literature, she had also been working as public relations and marketing specialist in fashion industry for several years.
