My name is Etienne Schmitt. I am a Fashion photographer.
I grew up in south of France, and came to Paris 4 years ago to study Fashion Business. I have always been fascinated by the power of images. During by bachelor, I studied Fashion History, sociology and the evolution of fashion imagery through times, among marketing and branding. Then I developed a real wish, to work in the creation of fashion images. I mostly shoot in film. I love the process, that demands waiting for the discovery of my work. I also have a dierent relationship to mistakes, I truly think that I learn more accurately about what I did wrong with the practice of analog photography. I am very sensitive to the androgynous aesthetic. As a little boy, people would always call me mademoiselle, and now I feel like it became a game for me to play with the masculine and feminine codes, by inverting, mixing or combine them in my creation process. It is a great source of inspiration for me.
