We don’t want to grumble to friends, family or colleagues about work or personal issues , we don’t want to appear weak, feel like were overreacting, getting the wrong end of the stick or want to be seen as a complainer. Although sometimes it may feel easier to tell people we’re ‘fine’, bottling things up and putting a brave face on can have a negative impact on our wellbeing.
The old saying of 'a problem shared is a problem halved' was proved from a study by Age UK, which showed that when people share worries with others, it can really improve their situation:
· Around 3 in 10 adults share their worries (29%).
· Of these, over a third (36%) feel brighter as a result,
· A quarter (26%) feel relief when they have confided in someone about a problem
· 8% feel that the problem has gone away once shared
This Thursday is the national initiative ‘Time to Talk’ day, it’s about encouraging people to talk and be open about mental health. First launched in 2014, it aims to break the stigma surrounding mental health issues and emphasise the value of talking as a first step toward understanding and healing. By openly discussing struggles, we normalise seeking help for mental health and create a culture where everyone feels safe to share their experiences without fear of judgment. It’s a chance for all of us to be more open about our mental health and talk about how we really feel, today and everyday. We wanted to use the day to highlight the help and support that is available to you should you need it,

Barclays policy update: Product transfer window
On Wednesday 25 September 2024, we changed our product transfer window from 180 days to 90 days. We made this change in the context of the stable rate environment and the vast majority of our customers applying for product transfers within the last 90 days of their maturity. To ensure a smooth transition, we have been operating a grace period to allow any pipeline appointments, applications and amendments to be worked through. This grace period will be coming to an end as of the close of day on Tuesday 4 February, after this date all product transfers must be within the last 90 days of maturity.
Frequently asked questions – What rates are available for product transfers?
Rates from our preferential Reward range are exclusively available to existing Barclays mortgage customers for product transfers and further borrowing. View our competitive Reward range
How can I apply?
You can apply quickly and easily using our online product transfer tool with no documentation or signed declarations required. Available for both residential and buy-to-let applications, the easy to use tool is located within the tools section of the Barclays Intermediary Hub.
