Just an update

Monday 3rd June

This week's headlines:

Welcome to this weeks Just an Update and the start of a new month!

With three big events happening in the next 8 weeks, with the Euro’s starting on the 14th June, the General Election on the 4th July and then the Olympics on the 26th July, we are in for an interesting couple of months.

History tells us that when big national and international events are going on consumers may be distracted into holding off their home buying plans. Whilst this isn’t anything we won’t have seen before, now is the very best time to make sure you are fully on top of those remortgage maturities to support you through this period.

Finally, keep an eye out for an important update on Smartr365 later this week. Progress is going well and there will be some key information to share with you.

Wishing you a very successful month.

ICYMI: Zurich Launched“Zurich Accelerate” on the 28th

May

What is Zurich Accelerate?

Zurich Accelerate provides access to experts from around the world to offer a package of medical care services for cancer, heart and neurological conditions. It gives your client more choice than standard medical care in the UK, with fast access to consultations, diagnostics, and second medical opinions. It can also help your client access the latest precision cancer medicine and clinical trials; as well as treatment abroad at some of the leading hospitals in the world.

What services does Accelerate offer?

Accelerate is comprised of six individual services. Your client can use as many or as few as they like and can access these at any point. They don’t have to follow a linear path and they can choose to combine Accelerate with services offered by public healthcare or their current healthcare provider if they want to.

Accelerate is a complementary service to both public and private healthcare and is not intended to replace either. It gives your clients an alternative route and should be taken up in consultation with their GP. It’s all about giving them choice and offering them greater control over their healthcare decisions.

Watch this explainer video HERE to see why Zurich Accelerate is so important.

Fixed Term Contractor policy

Following feedback, Barclays wanted to clarify their Fixed Term Contractor policy to ensure they are providing the best outcomes for customers.

Applicants employed in professional roles where contracts are provided on a fixed term basis, but each contract rolls to the next placement and so the overarching employment does not change (i.e. Junior Doctors, Teachers, Junior Solicitor), should be keyed as employed. These roles will all receive a salary rather than using a day rate.

This will ensure that these customers will not have to provide the additional documentation required for fixed term contractors.
