Thetford living Situated in the heart of the beautiful Brecks, near the Norfolk-Suffolk border, the historic market town of Thetford is known for its excellent road and rail links. Thetford is also famous for having the largest lowland pine forest in the country, with its opportunities for walking, cycling, horse-riding and adventure activities. There are river walks through the town, a number of museums and historical sites, such as Castle Hill, which has the highest Norman motte in England, and, of course, The Priory of Our Lady of Thetford.
