Beverley keeps 200 chickens which are well cared for and to our surprise had brought along several of her favourite birds.
There was a lot of laughter at times and we all enjoyed a very unusual but enjoyable talk.
September meeting. September’s guest speaker was Alexander Bass who gave an interesting and colourful talk on “Suffolk and The Brecks”. Alex is a keen bird watcher and regularly leads bird watching tours in and around East Anglia. He began his illustrated talk close to home in the nearby Brecks an area covering 370 square miles of heaths, woods, fens and wetlands. This unique landscape helps to support a large crosssection of British and visiting birds and has shown encouraging results in the increase in the numbers of breeding birds such as the elusive Bittern. Alex then moved on to the coastal and marshy areas of Suffolk. The
work carried out by numerous wildlife trusts, conservation groups and the RSPB with their reserves at Minsmere and Dunwich also showed that this area is chosen as a popular location for breeding birds in spring and a safe haven for migrating birds seeking refuge from Siberian winters in our (usually) more temperate climate. For further information please visit the Diss U3A website or telephone 01379 642674. The next meeting will be on 6th October at Diss United Reformed Church commencing at 10.30am.

Question: My ex-wife is pursuing a claim for compensation after suffering serious injuries in a car accident last year. The insurance company dealing with the claim have admitted liability but my ex-wife’s solicitors have said that it will take another year or so before her claim is settled. I took time off work to care for my ex-wife following her accident and didn’t get paid. Do I have to wait a year or more to get this money back? Answer: It is likely that your ex-wife has been advised by her solicitor to delay the settlement of her claim until the long term position of her injuries is known. This is so that the claim can be properly and fully valued before a full and final settlement of your ex-wife’s claim is agreed. This does not however mean that it is necessary to wait until a final settlement of the claim is agreed before the insurance company will pay out in relation to the claim. The insurance company can be asked to make what
is known as an “interim payment”. This is basically a payment of compensation made prior to the final settlement of the claim. An interim payment can either be general (say, for a lump sum) or specific (in terms of reimbursement of a financial loss or expense incurred). In the circumstances that you have outlined, an insurance company will usually agree to the make an interim payment. If however the insurance company does not agree to voluntarily make the payment requested, an application can be made to the court for an order that they make the interim payment. So that the insurance company can be asked to agree and pay your loss of earnings, you will obviously need to provide the solicitor with documentation to prove your lost earnings (such as pay slips if you are employed). If you have a question for our legal advice team you can submit it by email: enquiries@comercrawley.co.uk or in writing to: Chancery House, Victoria Road, Diss Norfolk, IP22 4HZ.

Stacey & Partners HMRC have had problems issuing Statements of Accounts in July as they ran out of paper! Says Mark Wallace of Chartered Accountants, Stacey & Partners – and Small businesses should have the correct paperwork in order to pay dividends. HMRC have announced that the delayed statements were sent out in August. Most importantly, HMRC says that those taxpayers who receive their SA statements in August will not be charged interest provided they pay the second 2011/12 payment on account (which would normally be due on 31 July) by 27 September 2011!! Make sure you have the correct paperwork for dividends. It is not unusual for small owner businesses to pay dividends, as a part of withdrawing funds from a company. It is important that the correct paperwork is in place, to ensure that the payments cannot be challenged by HMRC. There are a number of things that need to be considered in order to ensure that they are correctly declared. 1. If interim dividends are being paid, you should ensure that the Articles of Association allow the Directors the right to pay them, as some older companies do not have these provisions.
Dispatch October 2011
2. In respect of payments of salary, H M Revenue & Customs sometimes argue that the payments are payment on account of salary rather than a loan, or dividends. Payment on account is one where the Company has no right to recovery, it is simply agreed to pay some of the salary already earned but not due for payment - for example, payment of two weeks’ salary half way through the month when employees are normally paid at month end. If the Company has a right of recovery, it is not a payment on account but a loan. Make sure you do not get caught out! 3. It is important that all interim dividends are supported by some form of documentation, such as a pro forma minute. We have suitable vouchers that can be sent to clients if this is a problem. 4. In some cases, dividends can be illegal. This is where a company makes payments in excess of profits. In such cases, should the company go into liquidation, the liquidator has the right to obtain repayment from shareholders or Directors.

The piglets didn’t have far to travel as they were born and bred at the School.
A group of Community Farm members are taking care of the pigs on a rota basis.
After squealing a very loud protest at being moved, they were soon settling in to their new leafy paddock.
“We’ve all got a lot to learn,” said Tracey Bennett, “as none of us have kept pigs before but it’s a great experience and lots of fun so far. I’m looking forward to taking delivery of our pork in the New Year when we’re hoping to hold a sausage making workshop and a ‘nose to tail eating’ event to help members make the most of every bit of meat.”
“It’s important to us that they have a good quality of life,” explained Project leader Leeanne Eaton, “It’s an ideal natural environment for them here. Gloucester Old Spots are traditionally known as ‘the Orchard pig’ as they were kept in orchards to graze and eat windfalls and we certainly have enough apple trees to keep them busy!”
A limited number of pork shares are still available, full details are on www. disscommunityfarm.wordpress.com.

Don’t Delay – Act Today At Our Diss Office, We Understand What Matters To You In the event of an accident contributing to or causing, personal injury and loss. The Limitation Act 1980 provides that Civil Court Proceedings must be commenced within three years of the date that a Claimant knew, or ought reasonably to have known, that their injury or loss was attributable to an act of negligence; in particular, it must be considered carefully in relation to clinical or dental negligence claims.
If the claim involves a child, then the Act stipulates that Civil Court Proceedings must be commenced by that child’s 21st birthday. If the claimant who sustained the injury is a “patient” for the purposes of the Mental Health Act or does not have the mental capacity to conduct a claim for compensation, no limitation period applies unless the patient/capacity status changes. If the claimant were to unfortunately die, it is important to note:1. If the Claimant dies after the time limit had already expired, and no action had
10 Dispatch October 2011
been taken to protect the claim, by, for example, issuing protective proceedings, then the claim would be statute barred.
2. If the Claimant died before the time limit had expired, time would begin to run upon the Claimant’s death and his/her personal representatives or dependents would then have three years from the date or, if later, the date on which those representatives or dependents acquired the knowledge of the facts necessary to make the claim. Whilst the Court has absolute discretion under Section 33 of the Limitation Act 1980 to override the time limits, such discretion would require exceptional circumstances, and therefore it is of paramount importance that legal advice be sought as soon as possible following the negligence/breach of duty of care, or knowledge thereof. Following on, the official start to the day was heralded by the cutting of the ribbon and a few words from special guests, MP Richard Bacon, Diss Town Mayor Mike Bardwell, James Laband of title sponsor Jackamans Solicitors and Ed Nottingham of Merrick Hill, also a sponsor but in this instance, in his capacity as chairman of DBF. All the sponsors, which included Diss Express, The Hales Group and Lovewell Blake, were represented on colourful bunting placed throughout the venue and in the thank you bottles of bubbly that DBF presented to each.

Where Are Our Wildwoods? By Joan Garnham, Waveney Tree Specialists. The British Isles are among the least wooded countries in Europe. The woodland canopy covers less than 15% of the land. Since 1950, more than half of native woodland has become open fields, conifer plantation and housing. When the Ice Age was ending Britain was treeless tundra and still joined to the continent. As the climate improved, trees started to appear. The first were dwarf birch, juniper, willow and Scots pine. Further increase in temperature saw oak, hazel, ash and elm; these trees gradually became the dominant species with lime in the east, alder in the wetlands and pine in the far north (Great Wood of Caledon). Together, this formed the untamed wild woodland covering most Britain up to Saxon times. From the Stone Age onwards, man’s impact on the wildwood grew. It is estimated that three men with stone axes could fell 600 sq yds of forest in a day. By the Norman Conquest the boundless wild wood was already folklore. The Romans introduced walnut, elder
12 Dispatch October 2011
and sweet chestnut; and by the 16thC, horse chestnut, and sycamore became established, changing the broadleaf canopy forever. A thousand years ago, woods were crucial to the economy; providing fuel, building material and cover for herds of deer. They managed the woods mainly by coppicing and later by pollarding; good examples of this can be found in Burnham Beeches, New Forest and Hatfield Forest. Among the coppiced woods, some trees were left to reach maturity, especially oak. These maiden or untouched trees were grown for their timber used in buildings and boats. In the Middle Ages, charcoal burners moved in to fuel the iron furnaces. The great oaks were felled to build Tudor towns and Georgian fleets. Add to this, two world wars (early aeroplanes had wooden frames), felling of woods to pay death duties, removal of hedgerows for agriculture, Dutch elm disease and the ever growing population; all have lead to the disappearance of the woodland heritage. The wildwood has gone forever but there still remains a precious mosaic of hedgerows, copses and groves, and
occasionally, pockets of true forest. Remnants of the primeval forest, The Great Wood of Caledon, can still be found at Rothiemurchus in the Cairngorms, the Black Wood of Ranoch and Beinn Eighe. There are less than 20,000 acres left. These support wild life rarely seen outside the Highlands; osprey, red squirrel, crossbill, pine marten, capercaillie, pine beauty moth, and the orchids, lady’s tresses and coralroot. The bears were gone by the tenth century, the last wolf was killed in 1743, elk and wild boar have also been eliminated. The capercaillie was reintroduced from Sweden in 1837, beaver has recently been reintroduced time will tell if this is a bonus or disaster. At last the Forestry Commission no longer considers the pine forest as a cash crop but now manages the Caledonian pine reserve at Glen Affic. The Mighty Oak The richest of all wild life habitats is the oak wood. There are 284 different insects that inhabit the oak compared with 5 in the horse chestnut and 1 in the plane tree. Insects attract tree creeper, nuthatch,
wood warbler, bats, pied flycatcher and woodpeckers. Acorns provide food for jay and squirrel. This wild life attracts predators; weasel, sparrow hawk, polecat, owls and kestrel. As the tree matures it becomes invaded by ivy, mosses, lichens and ferns; rarely mistletoe. The light shade and rich mulch underneath encourages wild flowers, bluebell, primrose, wood anemone and snowdrop. The life span is generally around 250 years, but many can live longer. As the tree grows old or becomes stressed, dead branches or stag horns, appear in the crown. Eventually fungi invade the wood causing rot and decay. The tree can be rejuvenated to a certain extent by careful surgery and management, not a task to be undertaken by the novice

Green Light For £30,975 To Support Community Projects Funding totalling £30,975 has been given the green light by Breckland Council, for three projects that will improve the lives of residents. A grant from Breckland of £20,000 will enable the Thetford Healthy Town Project to build on their track record of success. To date, the venture has engaged approximately 7,000 adults and children in increased physical activity. The grant will enable the introduction of new activities such as Park Run, Cycling Club, Thetford World Cup and expansion of the scheme into the rural areas of Thetford and Attleborough. Thetford Town Council secured £4,675 towards a mobile seating rake for the Carnegie Rooms. This can be stored at the back of the hall and will give the audience an improved view of the stage. A £6,300 match funding grant from Breckland will secure the refurbishment of Whissonsett Play Area. The Parish Council has plans to purchase swings, climbing unit, see-saw, springys, a basketball net and a gate and fencing.
Lynda Turner, Breckland Council Executive Member for Localism, Community and Environmental Services said: “The Council’s match funding scheme is there to support worthwhile initiatives that will benefit their communities. All three projects will help bring people together - whether it’s through taking part in activities, attending community events or meeting other parents whilst children play safely”. Many other projects and individuals have also benefitted from Breckland’s grant
funding this summer. These include Sporle Village Centre which received a grant of £2,250 towards purchasing equipment for short mat bowls, Great Ellingham Parish Council which was awarded £330.30 towards the creation of an allotment site and Attleborough Writers Group who were given £200 towards the cost of printing and launching their second book. Attleborough Bible Society
Attleborough Probus Club Our first monthly meeting for August was attended by 25 members to hear our speaker Ian Banstead a blind woodturner. Many of you will have seen Ian walking in the town with his Black Labrador Guide Dog. His father worked with wood and Ian was a qualified Electrician in 1996, early in 2000 his eye sight started to deteriorate loosing it almost completely three years later, earlier in life his health was not good and he spent a considerable time in hospital however Ian is obviously a fighter as he took up woodturning as a business and brought many fine examples of his work to the club.
October 2011, all Saints Day. “God loves you dearly and He has called you to be saints, his very own people” Romans 1:7 Are famous Saints superior souls holier by far than other Christians? Or, as the Bible teaches, are all saints in fact Christians who have said truly “sorry” for their sins, received the Holy Spirit and now consider themselves as pilgrims and
strangers in this world. No longer do they follow an agenda of selfish aims, rather they live with their spiritual eyes fixed on Jesus-Christ, looking forward to spending an eternity with Him. But aren’t such saints escapists? By no means! They are not “so heavenly minded they are no earthly use” for they work tirelessly for peace and justice displaying by their lives the deep love of God for human kind.
His leisure time is spent sailing and horse riding and often visits Norwich with his guide dog, Ian gave us an insight into the
training of guide dogs which takes about nineteen months to train, his own dog which accompanied him to the club he has been his constant companion for over six years. Ian undoubtedly sets a fine example of what can be done despite his disability. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to Ian for a very moving talk. The Probus Club meet twice a month at the Connaught Bowls Club in Station Road. Stan Groom.

Funeral Directors “Relay For Life” Christian Fairbrother, a newly appointed Funeral Director at Rosedale Funeral Home took part in the Cancer Research UK Relay for Life on Saturday 30th July 2011, teaming up with friends and family to raise nearly £1,700.
Above: Christian Fairbrother, newly appointed Funeral Director at Rosedale.
There were 27 teams taking part in this fundraising event at Ickworth House, near Bury St Edmunds, which also involved honouring cancer survivors and celebrating life and over £75,000 was raised. “My wife lost her younger sister Susy to cancer last year, and we wanted to do something positive for Cancer Research in her memory” says Christian. “Also, since I joined Rosedale earlier this year, I have been made really aware by how many peoples’ lives are touched by cancer, so when asked by my friend and team captain, Rob Waddington of Diss Car Centre if I would like to take part in
the event, I was pleased to accept the challenge.” Our team consisted of four adults and five local teenagers, all of whose lives have been touched by cancer in some way. At least one member of our team was continuously walking the lap in the grounds of Ickworth House, so we had little or no sleep during our 21 hour long relay challenge. As dusk fell all the event team members lit hundreds of candles and placed them in beautifully decorated and personalised candle bags, which were then placed around the edge of relay lap as part of a Candle of Hope Ceremony. The candles lit up the whole route and this gave everyone an opportunity to remember and reflect upon all those lives that have been touched by cancer.
The chosen charity of the Mayor this year is the Attleborough First Responders. Eyes down for 8pm with lots of fantastic prizes and a star prize of an LCD T V with kind thanks to A W Myhills of Attleborough. There will be a licensed bar and also a raffle. Karen added that she wanted to have good prizes but also wants to keep the cost down so everyone wins. 6 books will cost just £3 on the night which is for 10 games so you
can see that is just 50pence a book for ten games, each game consists of 3 prizes, one line, 2 lines and a full house. There will be a cash flyer during the evening and finishing with the LCD TV as a separate flyer with a raffle as well there will be over 50 prizes to be won on the night so hopefully we will end up with lots of very happy people. Everyone welcome just turn up on the night doors open from 7pm.

When It Comes To Guttering It may be tempting to forget about them. However neglecting them can lead to dripping downpipes to damp. The most common cause of problems with guttering is caused by a lack of maintenance. Maintenance is the best way to prevent problems with guttering. The main causes of problems are gutters not being regularly maintained. Often the downpipes are not kept cleared. Problems are often caused when moss and debris from the roof is washed into the guttering by rainfall, causing blockages and preventing rainwater from draining away properly. Leaves can also collect and cause blockages.
your guttering re-aligned. Guttering is there to take rainwater away from a building, so if it is not clean, cleared and aligned properly, the water can run down the walls, which could eventually lead to structural damage and mould. It can also ruin decorations inside the house. Problems can arise when water comes over the top of the guttering – it can soak into brickwork, walls and into the house. It can also come over the inside of the fascias. This can often cause damp patches to appear inside the house.
Sagging guttering can also can be an issue in some properties.
As already mentioned, the best way to prevent gutter problems causing extra damage to your property is regular maintenance or replacement.
If water starts collecting along the run of the guttering rather than flowing towards your downpipe, you may need

Nest Residential Lettings And Management Rental Prices Rising due to Limited Supply. If you are considering putting your property on the market for rental now is a good time. Due to the high deposits required by mortgage lenders this is preventing people from purchasing, therefore demand has increased for rental accommodation.
As well as a healthy price being obtained the limited supply also means that properties are rented a lot quicker, meaning that void periods are kept to a minimum.
This was let on the first viewing and achieved the full asking price of ÂŁ750pcm without a problem.
This sized property is extremely popular for families and couples at the moment; Nest Residential Lettings and Management therefore if you have a 2 or 3 bed house with a garden, then you could expect a have recently let a 3 bed semi-detached house in Southwold. rapid let for a healthy rental figure.
Nest Lettings are always looking for new properties to let out in order to meet increased demand; and due to their independence are able to dedicate time to providing each property with the attention it requires to secure a quick and successful let. Therefore, if you have a property to let and would like any advice then please contact the team at any time on 01603 621180 or office@letnest.co.uk.
As this greater demand is met with a limited supply of rental properties available, this has resulted in a dramatic rise in rental prices in the last few months. In East Anglia specifically they rose 2.75 per cent in June, taking the average rents in East Anglia to ÂŁ581 per month. Although this is a negative for applicants searching for rental accommodation, this is good news for potential landlords looking to put their property on the open lettings market.

Fireworks display
Firework Safety Checklist Figures have shown that more children than adults get hurt by fireworks. If you are thinking of using fireworks as part of your celebrations, you should follow the steps listed below. Before your firework display Preparation is key to enjoying fireworks safely, so:
Things you will need on the night It’s easy to get a few household things together, these are:
• don’t buy fireworks from anywhere you’re not sure about, like a van or a temporary, unlicensed market stall
• a closed metal box to store the fireworks - take them out one at a time
• only buy fireworks marked BS 7114 - this is the British Standard that all fireworks should meet (a reputable shop will know this)
• a bucket of water - to cool sparklers and put out any small fires • eye protection and gloves • a bucket of earth to stick fireworks in
• follow the instructions on each firework - read them in daylight or by torchlight, never by a naked flame • make suitable supports and launchers if you’re setting off Catherine wheels or rockets
• don’t drink alcohol if you are setting off fireworks
• put used sparklers hot end down into a bucket of sand or water
• light fireworks at arm’s length, using a taper
Other tips on the night Finally, follow these rules for a safe night:
• make sure everyone stands well back
• keep pets indoors – most animals get very scared by the lights and noise from fireworks
• never go back to a firework that has been lit - even if it hasn’t gone off it could still explode Sparklers Sparklers are fun, but always:
Lighting fireworks Follow these simple guidelines to stay safe:
• supervise children with sparklers and never give them to a child under five
• only one person should be responsible for letting off fireworks
• light sparklers one at a time and wear gloves
• never put fireworks in your pocket or throw them • never throw spent fireworks on a bonfire • take care around bonfires - all clothes, even those labeled ‘low flammability’ - can catch fire
New Buckenham Bonfire And Fireworks Display This year we are planning an even more than usual spectacular event on Saturday the 5th November at the Village Hall playing field. Health, beauty & wellbeing Health & Beauty Tips For Autumn For a Gorgeous New You! With Summer gone and Autumn on our doorstep we are probably all experiencing the excesses of Summer and the party season, such as over exposure to the sun, damaged locks and poor eating habits. With the days getting shorter and chillier and the demands of school and office increasing, stress is often nipping at our heels. It is the perfect time of year to reassess and revitalize your make up, skin and hair to get your body and soul in great shape for Autumn! Revitalise Your Skin Now is the time to take care of your skin. Use a facial scrub, to exfoliate any
dead skin cells, caused by the damaging effects of sun impurities from too much sun and sunscreen. A moisture mask adds valuable moisture to your skin. Apply in the shower, just five minutes, and your skin will be softer. Your skin is in desperate need of re-hydratration. Treat yourself to a daily rich hydrating moisturiser such as a repair cream. Bring Your Hair Back To Life Your hair takes a beating all summer long from sun, salt, chlorine, and wind. Get a good hair cut or trim and deep condition your hair to replenish lost moisture. Autumn is also a great time to update
your style. If you have a classic hairstyle, you can achieve a more contemporary look by adding layers or texturizing to break up the interior. To add fullness to your hair, try a styling mousse, or straightening balm to smooth out unwanted curls. Try A New Make Up Look With the start of Autumn here, makeup colours reflect the cooler temperatures and warmer clothes. As clothes get heavier, so do makeup colours. This means it’s time for a change in your makeup bag as well. Autumn makeup is defined by flushed cheeks, and emphasis
on both eyes & lips. The most dramatic focus of the season is on the eye. Using a colour mascara instead of jet black gives lashes lots of soft volume. Apply some concealer to your eyelids and dust with powder- this is a make-up trick used by the pros to ensure that shadow stays put and looks smooth. Deep purples, plums, blues and neutrals adorn the classic smoky eye, while bright berries, burgundies, reds and fuchsias give the lips a dramatic sizzle. Keep that summer glow around for just a little longer with a light bronzing powder.

CARING FOR THE ELDERLY NBR Scooter Brokers
Able Community Care
NBR Scooter Brokers is a family run business which prides itself on their commitment to their customers (existing and new!!)
Since 1980 Able Community Care has been providing live-in care services throughout Mainland UK and the Channel Islands.
Their main objective is to provide impartial advice together with a friendly and efficient service!!
Apart from selling, they also offer a hire service, together with repairs, servicing and insurance work.
Our clients, who range in age from their early twenties to centenarians, have all chosen to remain living in their own home rather than moving into a residential care home. When we ask our clients why they have chosen to have a live-in care package rather than move into a home where they could also have 24 hour care, we receive comments such as:
NBR scooter brokers are accredited with Norfolk trusted traders which is organised by Norfolk County Council.
“I can have independence in my own home. I can be spontaneous, if the sun is shining and I fancy being pushed round the park I can go.”
They offer the service of a free, no obligation, home demonstration for all of their products to ensure they are suitable for your needs. Whilst their core business is the supply of new mobility scooters, they also have a selection of pre-owned scooters as they offer a part exchange service. In addition to mobility scooters, they can also supply the following: • Stairlifts • Powered wheelchairs • Powerchairs • Rise & recline armchairs
• Adjustable beds • Bathlifts • 3 & 4 wheel walkers • Attendant and self propelled wheelchairs
“Having 1:1 care means that no day is the same. When I was more able I could choose how to spend my days. Having live-in care means I can still do that. My family wanted me to stay in my
own home, but they were worried about me on my own in case I fell. Having live-in care in my home eliminates their worries.” “Being young I enjoy sports, clubbing and going to the pub. My live-in care scheme allows me to have the opportunity to participate, at any time of the day or even night!” Able Community Care has provided just under fifty million hours of care and we have been able to help thousands of people and their families. If you would like our information pack or would like to have a chat about our care provision, please call us on 01603 764567.

CARING FOR THE ELDERLY Ways To Make Tasks Easier Around The Home As you get older you may find it harder to manage in your home. However, you may be able to stay in your home for longer if it is adapted to meet your needs. This guide from Age UK looks at the adaptations and equipment that are available and explains how to obtain them.
installed to enable you to reach the front door. This may require alterations to the porch or front step.
It also suggests small practical steps that can make a difference to your quality of life.
Answering the door
Access to your home This advice relates to both your main access, generally the front door, and your rear or garden access. If you are having difficulty getting in and out of your property there are ways to make it easier. If you have difficulty climbing the steps leading to your front door, you could have a rail installed. If you are a wheelchair user, you may need to have a ramp
If you have difficulty getting to the front door when someone calls, you could consider installing a door-entry intercom. This can either be one where you talk to the visitor via an intercom link and then walk to the front door, or where you press a button to open the door from your sitting position after you have spoken to the visitor via the intercom. There are other options to allow friends, relatives and carers access if you find it difficult to get to the front door in time
to answer it. One of these is a key safe, where the key is held in a secure box that can only be opened by someone who knows the code.
and does not block the way. In some circumstances walls can be removed or re-sited to provide a larger turning circle in a room.
Moving around your home
Getting up and down stairs
If you are having difficulty moving around a property, think about the risks related to floor surfaces, lighting, clutter and trip hazards such as exposed wires. If you use a wheelchair, do you have enough room to manoeuvre your chair around each room and from room to room?
If the facilities in your property - your toilet, bathroom, kitchen - are on different floors you may be finding it increasingly difficult to keep using the stairs.
If the ability to turn from a corridor into a room is inhibited by the door and corridor width, it may be possible to widen the door frame or to re-hang the door so that it swings in the opposite direction
It may be possible to install a second banister rail on the stairs or to fit a stairlift to make it easier for you to get up and down the stairs. There are a number of different types on the market, with a range of features to suit different needs.
South Mobility Centre With clear, crisp and perhaps wet autumnal days around the corner, there’s no need to let the weather put you off from getting out on your scooter.

PunctureSafe Punture preventative and tyre life extender. Puncturesafe is a liquid polymer gel, which is injected inside the tyre and helps prevent flat tyres. Puncturesafe is installed in minutes through the tyre valve and without having to remove the wheels. With the movement of the vehicle Puncturesafe will completely coat the inner surface of the tyre with a thin uniform coating. Once installed, Puncturesafe is then on guard sealing any punctures as they happen.
Puncturesafe fully coats the whole of the inside of the tyre and therefore stops porosity which helps maintain tyre pressure.
• Reduce porosity and under-inflation which causes excessive heat build-up leading to reduced tyre life.
Although this polymer behaves like a glue and has properties similar to glue, it is not.
• Control most blow outs.
When the lateral movement of a vehicle throws the excess Puncturesafe over the whole of the crown area and sideways up the inner sidewalls of the tyre, the adhesive properties of the polymer gel allows Puncturesafe to cling evenly over the whole inner tyre surface at any speed.
A single Puncturesafe treatment will: • Improve fuel economy • Permanently seal punctures caused by objects up to 6mm in diameter, providing there is no structural damage to the tyre.
• Help the inner tyre run cooler which helps extend tyre life Puncturesafe also gives full, even coverage throughout the whole inner tyre. Traditional tyre sealants do not give 100% crown coverage in a high-speed tyre - at best they usually only cover 60% which becomes less as the vehicle increases in speed, because more of the tyre sealant is driven to the centre of the crown area creating a mound that can cuase vibration at the higher speeds. One of the components of Punturesafe is a polymer gel which has an affinity to adhere to rubber even in a vehicle moving at very high speed.
This maintains crown and shoulder area coverage giving added heat dispersion. Heat dispersion to the rim allows a cooler inner tyre and cool tyres are less susceptible to punctures. For further information on Puncturesafe contact your local installer - Peter Gregson Tel: 07952 569896 or 01379 669060 or visit www.puncturesafe-suffolk. co.uk.
