The successful community play, Citizen of the World , delivered as part of the Tom Paine 200 celebrations in 2009, showed a real enthusiasm for drama in the town, both from budding thespians and an appreciative audience. This momentum was carried on with the hugely successful Dad’s Army Comes Home production in June 2010. A number of the participants in these productions are now poised to carry the baton on with the Thetford Players production of Dick Whittington .

TW Gaze
J & S Homeworks
Complete Traditional Building And Modern Architectural Services
Once the snow has thawed are your gutters blocked & overflowing? Check round your property for damage.
The architectural division of TW Gaze is headed by Sarah Roberts who is a member of the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects). She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the conservation, alteration and extension of historic buildings, as well as modern design and eco buildings. The philosophy of the department is that any project can be considered a success if the client achieves what they envisage, at a price they can afford, within a reasonable timescale. The practice is well respected and recognized for many successful and award winning projects throughout East Anglia and the South East. They have been responsible for industrial, commercial and community projects, as well as a wide range of residential commissions. As architects, they should be involved from the earliest stages of your project, as they are able to offer you the benefits of their experience in deciding how to maximize the potential of your existing property or indeed, to propose ideas for

the property you are about to purchase. They will discuss your needs in detail and then produce a design scheme either by CAD (Computer Aided Design), or by using traditional drawing for more sensitive projects. Once you have decided on the specific area of your home or business that requires change, they will draw up the plans and submit these for Planning Approval and Listed Building or Conservation Area Consent. They have a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience in how these processes work and know how to satisfy the very demanding and specific requirements. Planning is followed by Building Regulations and then Tender documents.
The wintry weather can cause damage to your gutters, which in turn can cause damp patches on the external walls. Felt could also be damaged and water may be getting into your loft. If you detect any of these faults, give J & S Homeworks a call.
J & S Homeworks can bring your UPVC back to its original condition again. Our Fascia and Soffit Cleaning service really can make a difference to the look and feel of your property’s exterior and help to keep it in good condition.
Gutters can easily become blocked by leaves, feathers, dirt and debris blown into them. Once a gutter becomes blocked, rainwater will flow directly off the roof onto the walls and windows of your home, as well as onto access paths. Seriously neglected gutters often have weeds growing in them, adding to the problem.
Call Jason of J & S Homeworks on 01953 458087 or 07747 847606 for a free no obligation quote.
Water constantly overflowing from blocked gutters damages bricks and mortar and can cause extensive damp on the outside and mould on the inside of your house as it is absorbed by the bricks, making even the most beautiful of homes appear unsightly.
The cleaning products we use are specifically designed to effectively and thoroughly clean exterior surfaces.

A New year, A new you... New Year’s Resolutions That Stick It’s that time of year again. Time to bring out the noisemakers, watch the revelers in Trafalgar Square, and Google the lyrics to Auld Lang Syne. For millions of us, it’s also a time to make a resolution that we’ll get fit in the New Year. According to research, nearly half of all adults will make some type of New Year’s resolution. The top three resolutions are to stop smoking, lose weight, and exercise regularly. Unfortunately, the same research study also indicates that 25 percent of all resolutions will be abandoned after only one week, and another 10 percent dropped after the first month. How do you make your New Year’s fitness resolution actually stick? If you’re one of the ambitious would-be exercisers who decides that 2011 is your year to get in shape, Jazzercise has some advice for you. 1. Change Your Sweat-itude – Adopt a new attitude for this year’s resolution to get fit. Instead of forcing yourself to log endless hours on the treadmill, decide that you will
only participate in fitness activities that you actually enjoy. Whether it be dance fitness, ice skating, or martial arts, there are many ways to get fit that won’t leave you dreading your workout. 2. Set a Realistic Goal – Many of us abandon our New Year’s resolutions because we’ve set ourselves up to fail. If you want to keep your goal, it needs to be a realistic goal. Think about what you can actually do this year. If you’ve never jogged more than a mile, it’s unlikely that you’ll run a marathon in April. Perhaps setting the goal of running a 5K is better suited for this year, and save the marathon for another year. 3. Plan for Success – Pull out your Blackberry or IPhone. Select what fitness classes you will attend during the next few
weeks, and schedule these classes on your calendar. Consider these appointments as important as lunch with your boss or the annual check-up with your dentist. In other words, don’t cancel your fitness appointments – no matter what comes up! 4. Enlist Help – Tell your friends, family, and co-workers about your resolution. Ask them to hold you accountable and to help you meet your goal. If your social life used to be all about food and drinks, suggest to your friends that you go bowling or hiking instead. 5. Reward Yourself – It’s important that you recognize your achievements, even if they appear small. Establish some rewards for sticking to your fitness regimen. After one week of success, book a manicure or pedicure. After the first full month, splurge
on a new handbag. And if you fall off the waggon, don’t punish yourself! Get back up, dust yourself off, and start all over again. To help acheive your New Year goals Jazzercise is hosting a series of Open House in Thetford on Tuesday 18th January 2011@ 7.30 pm, come along and give it a try, there will be special offers available for one night only. All class times and locations can be found on our website www.tryjazzercise.com. Jazzercise, created by Judi Sheppard Missett, is the world’s leading dance-fitness programme. What Does The Future Hold For Elegance? I hope to continue being successful! I want to be able to continue to offer clients new treatments and products, and my wealth of experience. I hope to continue to always have staff willing to offer a professional, confidential and friendly service – where the coffee is always on!

How Long Have You Been Offering Holistic Therapies? I started offering them 3 years ago, on top of the hairdressing which I’d been doing for the previous 8 years. I wanted to add more strings to my bow. Basically, I’m always interested in learning something new!
How Long Have You Been Running Purely Nailz? I started in 2008 as a mobile service and came to 10 White Hart Street 2 years ago.
What Are You Most Interested In At The Moment? I am currently completing my Reiki training – I love the way people leave feeling twice as positive as when they arrived. What Does The Future Hold For You? Who knows?! I hope to keep spending half my time hairdressing and half my time giving holistic treatments as I am at the moment. I’m really happy based at 10 White Hart Street. Long may it last. Are There Any Other Treatments You’re Thinking Of Offering? I’m really open-minded to all kinds of things. At the moment, I’m thinking about Crystal Healing and Aromatherapy courses. I think Aromatherapy would really complement the massage treatments. Other than that, it will depend what takes my fancy - watch this space!
Is There Anything New That You’ve Recently Started Offering? My latest nail treatment is Gelish – halfway between polish and gel, it lasts about ten times longer than polish and you don’t need extensions, so you keep the natural look. What Do You Enjoy Most About Your Work? I love making people feel proud of their hands, making them feel more positive because they get compliments on how they look. And competitions – I have so far entered three heats of the UK Championships and hope to carry on. So Have You Won Any Awards For Your Work? So far, I have won 7 UK awards and 1 International award. One of my proudest moments was winning 1st in my very first competition – though it made it hard not winning the second one! I’m determined to do as well as I can and I really feel that that success carries through to my everyday work.

Observe The Tyres Properly inflated all season tyres are usually all that you need for winter driving.
Carry An Emergency Kit It doesn’t take much to get stranded during winter. Even the best maintained vehicle can get caught in a snow bank or stuck in a ditch. Carrying a fully charged mobile phone for emergency purposes is essential when driving anywhere uninhabited.
