As the foundation of SPIRE, the Academy is where training, performance and education lives within four integrated priorities: academics, passion (i.e. sport), personal and career development.
As an extension of our Academy, athletes can experience an Academy training atmosphere that focuses on sport-specific development, performance training, mental skills acquisition and nutrition planning.
Our facilities are world-class in size and resilience with an event management team who is exceptionally experienced. Our multi-sport tournaments and events are where we connect the local, national and global community to SPIRE.
In an effort to provide aspiring student athletes the most opportunity to reach their peak potential, we’ve partnered with organizations across the nation to deliver The SPIRE Way. Our relationships include everything from league support to ownership of clubs, leagues and professional teams.
Our passion for excellence extends beyond world-class destination programs, tournaments and events. We are also committed to the well-being of our community. We offer memberships and personal training so everyone can enjoy the SPIRE experience and strive to fulfill their own personal goals and objectives.
The Institute is our real-world lab and exists at the forefront of innovative research, development and healthcare to support aspiring professionals across multiple disciplines.

SPIRE Academy, an accredited international boarding school for 9-12th grade and post graduate students with more than 150 students from 34 countries and 22 states represented in 2023-2024.

WHEREWE’VEBEEN
2019
• Ehrenfeld Companies acquired SPIRE, a 750,000 sq ft climate-controlled complex on 400 acres.
• Founding Executives and former IMG executives Jeff Orloff, Rich O’Dell, Ted Meekma and Laura Lawrence were hired, bringing with them decades of combined athletic boarding school experience.
2020
• SPIRE expanded with new dormitories and basketball courts.
• SPIRE launched 20/21 year with 35 students in Basketball, Swim, Track & Field and 120 campers.
2021
• SPIRE announced Ambassador program featuring partnerships with high level, professional athletes.
• Olympian Track & Field stars Tim Mack, Kibwé Johnson and Kerron Stewart joined SPIRE’s coaching staff over 2021-2022.
• Campus grounds expanded to 500 acres.
• SPIRE Academy announced Wrestling and Esports boarding school and camp programs.
2022
• Launched Lacrosse boarding school and camp programs.
• Established SPIRE FC Cleveland to support development of young soccer stars.
• 82 students enrolled, representing 26 countries and 15 states, with over 900 campers registered.
• Facilities expanded further, with three additional hardwood courts, throws field and hydroponic garden.
• Partnerships secured with Arena, Under Armour and NBA.
2023
• ○Sports Performance x ReCharge Lab launched to support high-level, technology based research and analysis, including four therapy pools, hyperbaric chambers, recovery pods and more.
• ○Adrenaline Monkey indoor adventure and ninja course opened on SPIRE campus to offer entertainment and strength training to students, campers and the surrounding community.
• ○Cleveland Clinic’s Ashtabula County Medical Center opened Geneva Family Health Center on campus to provide primary care, sports medicine, pediatrics and more to SPIRE students and Ashtabula County residents.
• ○Launched Pickleball, Basketball and Soccer leagues.
• ○Campus upgrades included addition of Pro Shop, field enhancements, new Wrestling Center and opening of CHOPS Grille & Tap House and Starbucks.
• SPIRE hosted OVR, Under Armour Combine Camp, USA Wrestling Nationals & World Team Trials, as well as USA Track & Field Youth Outdoor Championships.
• Added two-story dormitories to accommodate 135 more students and 2000+ campers.

2024
• ○Marriott TownePlace Suites opened on campus.
• Opening newly renovated 53 room boutique hotel branded SPIRE House under a Wyndham flag.
• ○Construction of a 2-story, 40 bed dorm house — the largest we’ve built.
• ○Construction of one FIFA field that divides to 2 smaller grass fields.
• ○ACMC expanding to offer radiology, laboratory and physical therapy at our Geneva Family Health Center at SPIRE.
• ○Future plans for the addition of a GetGo gas station and convenience store
