DRONE RACING ONLINE SUMMER BOOTCAMP
Drone Racing has quickly grown into a professional sport with global leagues, large prize pools and pro contracts for the best pilots. SPIRE’s distance-learning Drone Racing Online Summer Camp is a unique opportunity for students, grades 9-12 to receive home-based, 1-on-1 coaching and flight training designed specifically for remote students. Each week-long summer camp session features online Velocidrone PC simulator training, and at-home training with a high-quality FPV mini-drone kit to keep.

Online, At-Home Drone Racing Summer Camps are offered as one-week, home-based experiences from SPIRE Academy, a premier co-ed sports training. Each camp day, campers will train, fly and race with the PC drone sim Velocidrone and a real Emax FPV drone kit to keep. Working one-on-one and in small groups with professional pilots, camper’s skills are measured and tracked throughout the week to ensure each camper gets a personalized coaching and training experience. Flight practice is combined with engineering, programming bench work and presentations from visiting pro drone pilots. Students will learn a wide range of FPV drone racing and freestyle skills, hardware setup and tuning, electronics and safety. Every program includes one-on-one personalized training and coaching sessions, as well as team-based racing and competitions. Campers also receive daily video conferencing sessions focused on pro athlete coaching, maintaining health, fitness, nutrition, as well as PR, social media management and career counseling. The last day of camp features a final Velocidrone race competition, award ceremony and celebration hosted by global drone professionals. Each student receives a complete FPV drone racing package to keep, including Emax quadcopter, radio controller, video goggles, batteries, spare parts, Velocidrone license and gamepad. Velocidrone requires high-speed internet access and a PC with the following specs: Windows 7, 8 and 10 (64 bit only) CPU: Intel I3 1.7ghz. GPU: Intel HD4000. Memory: 4GB Disk: 12GB. ABOUT SPIRE SPIRE Academy is a national & international Academy for high school and postgraduate athletes located on a state-of-the-art facility in Geneva, Ohio. SPIRE Academy is focused on performance training for all athletes, and sports-specific training in swimming, track and field, basketball, esports, drone racing and robotics. Beginning Fall 2020, SPIRE Academy will offer programs in esports and robotics.
