What is iiot?

The Internet of Things, or IIoT, is a network of intelligent systems and computers that are connected to the Internet in order to share and collect data. A ‘thing’ can be any physical object or device that is capable of transmitting data.

The Industrial IoT (IIoT) is much more advanced than the commercial IoT, primarily due to the prevalence of connected sensors in the industrial world, which are the “things” in the IoT. These sensors can monitor anything from temperature to level flow and connect to a variety of higher level software platforms.

You’re probably aware of IoT without even knowing it. Common devices that incorporate IoT functionality include smart watches that monitor your fitness level and thermostats that automatically adjust the temperature in your home based on your daily activity.

SAM can monitor anything on your process equipment. From motors and pressure sensors to conveyors and ammonia detection - SAM can be tailored to fit your needs. If your equipment produces a signal we can monitor it!

WILL SAM WORK ON MY EXISTING SYSTEM OR WILL I HAVE TO PURCHASE NEW EQUIPMENT? Most modern systems can be upgraded to allow a number of SAM features. Hard wired, Wi-fi, or mobile (4G/5G). If mobile signal is an issue we can fit an antenna booster to alleviate this. Our Spiroflow engineers are fully qualified to install SAM on your equipment.

SAM uses 128 Bit SSL End To End Encrypted Tunnel security and proxy functions meaning we will not be able to gain access to any of your equipment without an authorization. A code is required for remote access your PLC to make modifications and fault find.

We use IBM as our cloud storage provider, which combines a security immune system with advanced cognitive computing. IBM is a proven leader in enterprise security, giving you peace of mind.

How does sam work with spiroflow equipment?

SAM is compatible with all Spiroflow equipment that uses an electrical panel. A wide range of sensors can be fitted to conveyors, unloaders, fillers and more to give you real time data of how your Spiroflow equipment is performing.
