Supreme Lodge fuels Mission 2100 campaign with incentives, optimism As the old saying goes, "Success breeds success." It's an attitude fueled by initiative, creativity and accepting responsibility to get the job done. It's an invigorating process that begins by zooming in on the opportunities that exist all around us. This year, the SPJST puts these words to the test as it kicks off a year-long "Mission 2100" campaign designed to increase membership and stimulate member involvement. "For Mission 2100 to succeed, we must involve all levels of the SPJST towards achieving this energetic goal," says SPJST Supreme Lodge Vice President Gene McBride, principal architect of the plan which seeks to generate at least 2,100 new member certificates in 2001.
ming to local lodge activities are part of the total SPJST experience. The key to the success of Mission 2100 — and our long-term success as a fraternal benefit society — is getting people involved." To make real and measurable progress takes action. To help achieve the objectives of the Mission 2100 program, several incentives are being offered. They are outlined as follows:
Local Lodge Incentives Provided that the SPJST meets the 2,100 application quota and the lodge achieves its individual lodge quota, the lodge will receive oneand-a-half times its lodge incentive award amount. For example, if a lodge has a quota of 25 new members (Gold Award) and meets its quota and the SPJST achieves 2,100 applications, the local lodge will receive $1,000 x 1.5 = $1,500. Lodge quotas are posted on page three of the Vestnik. Monthly lodge progress reports will be posted in the Vestnik.
"For Mission 2100 to succeed, we must involve all levels of the SPJST towards achieving this energetic goal."
Reaching for the Stars "It's an ambitious goal but one which I am sure we can achieve. With the heightened emphasis on training over the last few years, we're ready to 'zoom' in on our members and prospective members and deliver the good news about SPJST fraternal life insurance in our lodge halls, meeting places and pub-lic gatherings around the state," says Vice President McBride. "SPJST offers top-notch life insurance, annuity and mortgage lending programs and the benefit of having a local sales representative and the Home Office to assist you as your needs change." Value-added benefits, too, are expected to factor into the growth process. "Everything from the Vestnik, Youth Program and adult fraternal program-

Lodge Officer Incentives The SPJST must meet the 2,100 application quota and the lodge must achieve its individual lodge quota before the following lodge officer incentives are awarded. Lodge officers, as defined in the SPJST By-Laws, will have their names entered in a drawing and the winners will be awarded trips. The trip value would be assessed according to the category the lodge achieves in the Lodge Recognition and Incentive Program. The number of trips awarded will be determined after the final count of qualifying lodges at the end of 2001. The SPJST will award one trip for every four qualifying lodges per category. Insuring and Enriching Lives Pictured above is the new SPJST logo approved by the Supreme Lodge in December. The design conveys an authoritative, dynamic statement about the past, present and future of the SPJST. The blue field and white star denote the Society's solid past with a salute to the Lone Star State. The wheat wreath, visible on the right and outlined in red, reflects the Society's vitality and dynamic potential for the future. The new logo will be phased in gradually. Pre-existing signage, pins and documentation which display the old logo and reflect the Society's colorful past will remain and will continue to identify the SPJST in the communities that it seeks to serve. lodges in a category, an extra trip will be awarded for that category. For example, if at the end of 2001, the First Step category has 21 qualifying lodges, then six trips will be awarded.
Sales Representative Incentives Upon meeting individual sales representative quotas, the sales representative will receive $20 per application at the end of the year. Sales representatives will be receiving their individual quotas shortly in the mail. Local lodges will also receive a copy of their sales representative quotas. Sales representatives meeting their quotas on a quarterly basis will have their name put into a drawing for a computer. Four computers will be awarded during 2001.

Mission 2100 Top Priority What You Know Can Help
If you haven't already done so, please read this week's Vestnik cover story and page three to familiarize yourself with the details and incentives of the Mission 2100 program. Collectively, the information outlines what will be a year-long campaign, calculated to increase SPJST's membership by 2,100 certificates by year-end. The Vestnik will be providing monthly updates to show how your lodge is doing in its efforts to achieve one of the incentive awards outlined below. So, how can you get involved on a personal level? It's simple and it's called the referral process. The first step is to inform a friend, neighbor or family member about the benefits of membership in the SPJST. Step two is directing the prospective member to one of your local SPJST sales representatives so he or she can call on the prospective member. To make this process easier, post-paid referral cards are available through the Insurance Department, SPJST field personnel and shortly, through your local lodge.
For a quick refresher course on the many and varied fraternal benefits available from SPJST, please refer back to the special Vestnik issue which you should have received last week -the 2001 SPJST Member Services Directory. Many of our life insurance programs, mortgage lending program, fraternal programs, including the youth program are highlighted throughout that issue. The SPJST 2001 Calendar also includes a lot of good information about the benefits of membership in the SPJST. Consider sharing this information with prospective members. Or better yet - call us at (800) 727-7578 or drop us a line and - as long as directory and calendar supplies hold out - we'll mail you an extra copy that you to share with a prospective member. Mission 2100 is an opportunity to make good things happen in our local lodges and for the SPJST. It can be an invigorating and rewarding experience for everyone involved.

We wish to thank Brother Glenn and Sister Jeannette for their hospitality in having the dinner. The dinner was baked ham with all of the trimmings with baked goods and such brought by the members. After the meal, goody bags were given out by Sister Jessica Kelner as she assisted Santa (aka A.J. "Tony" Kelner) in bringing Christmas cheer. The meeting reconvened and business at hand was started. A motion by Tony Kelner to hold off reading the November minutes to the January meeting was passed. All reports were approved as given. Several motions were made and passed. A date for the trip to Moody Gardens in Galveston was set. It being the third Sunday in February, the 17th. The time of departure to be set no later than the February meeting. There will be more on this later. One thing that was made clear was that members of other lodges are welcome to go as well as non-members. At present, the approximate cost to each person will be around $50 or less. This includes bus transportation, what one buys to eat at the garden and ticket cost to each area. Sister Jessica Kelner moved the meeting adjourn and the motion was passed. It has been learned this weekend that one of our older members who had outlived her policy passed away, Anna R. Genzer. She was born on October 20, 1903 and passed away on December 20, 2000. She was given special recognition for outliving her SPJST certificate with a presentation in October 1999. Look for her resolution of sympathy in a future Vestnik issue. To the faithful: See you Sunday and this writer remains ... Fraternally yours, Joseph D. Nezval, President —SPJST-

Lodge 88, Houston reports on lodge, member news Our heartfelt sympathy goes to the family of Herbert C. Huber who died on December 20, 2000. His funeral service was on December 22 at Earthman's North Chapel. Herbert and his wife, the late Gesalla Huber, were active members of our lodge for many years. Congratulations to Helen Hegwood on being elected our president! Helen has been active for years: holding office, leader of the Choral Club, participating in Dramatic Club Hlahol, active in the Birthday Club to name a few! Marie Stayton was elected First Vice President which she has held for years. We enjoyed the programs she arranged for special occasions. Florence Orsag, who has been a good secretary, of course, was reelected again. She is capable of holding more than one office. She is also president of the Birthday Club. We are sorry to hear that Nat Gonzales is again in the hospital and needs our prayers. He has been so active in our lodge for years. Many of us were present at his wedding to Barbara Linney when the priest asked,
Te
"Who gives the bride away?" and at least 25 youth stood up and said, "We do." Of course, everyone knows that Barbara is our great youth leader! I always say it is great to see our young members get involved in our lodge. I know three more: Marian Kadlecek, daughter of the late Della and Amos Kadlecek, Jeff Barcak, son of Georgia and Eugene Barcak and Vincent Hegwood, son of Helen and King Hegwood, and all are sales representatives. Isn't that great! Little Josiah Ian McWhorter arrived on November 11, 2000 at the home of our new members, Denise and Marcus McWhorter. When Denise graduated from Baptist College, she was honored by many relatives and friends with a most delicious dinner at our lodge annex. We wish the three a very happy New Year. I know this has been mentioned, but I also want to congratulate John T. Buri, son of JoAnn and Fred Buri, on his graduation from the University of Texas. I remember how John used to play the accordion—sounded like Lawrence Welk! A big hello goes to Tim and Rosalee Kostom; we miss you! Special greetings go to Kathy Trefell who is recuperating in Florida and to our sister Alice raikovich who had a bad stroke. fur efficient Entertainment
