spjst202youth@gmail.com830-570-2046 GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE

Earlier this year, we began a youth program revitalization study. We have talked to many youth leaders and teen youth members, parents, and adult members. Now - we’d like your input. All ages - adults and youth - are in vited. You do not have to be involved in a lodge or youth club to complete the survey. All are welcome - and en couraged to complete the survey. We are on a fact-finding, infor mation-gathering, idea-generating mission . . . and we need your help. We are working on envisioning the future of our youth program by revitalizing the activities that are currently offered to our youth. Please help us by sharing your ideas and concerns in a survey that is available until August 31 at spjst.org/youth-survey Some of our youth activities have been around for almost 70 years. Rather than thinking of the past, please visualize the youth program in five years, 10 years, and 20 years. Please think outside the box. We will then an alyze the responses as we proceed on our mission to rejuvenate the youth program.

Reader enjoys Czech culture article Dear Vestnik Readers, I enjoyed reading “Preserving Czech Culture” in the Vestnik that was dated July 11, 2022. (The article was written by Angela Covo and originally pub lished in East Wilco Insider on June 4, 2022).We need to do our part to bring back our language, history, and heritage to our lodges and communities. In the article, Monica Stojanik said that she was not allowed to speak Czech in school. My older sister Rita (de ceased) was not allowed to speak Czech in school. I still know the “Our Father,” “Hail Mary,” and “Glory Be” in Czech. I completely agree, and SPJST does a good job preserving and embracing all cultures. Annuities: Safer Than You Think When it comes to annuities, most fi nancial advisors will tell you they are not a good investment. They will say you can make so much more in the market. What they don’t tell you is annuities were not designed not to get you rich (or poor). The product was designed to give you something to retire with no opportunity to outlive your money. Because annu ities were designed for long term and to protect your retirement there are more positives than negatives to owning one. Let’s examine both the positives and neg atives. Positives You are guaranteed more money tomor row than you have today. Our fixed annuities product has a guaranteed 1 percent floor. What does that mean? It means if the economy crashes and everything hits rock bottom, you are guaranteed to make a minimum of 1 percent. Because it is an insurance product, you will not have fees of any kind. No commission fees, brokerage fees, administration fees, management fees, assets under management fees, etc. It doesn’t do any good to make 8 percent if you are being charged 5 percent or more in fees. The multi-year guaranteed annuities lock you in at a rate not to change during that period. Currently, our 1-year is 2.25 percent, our 2-year is locked in at 2.75 percent, and our 5-year locks you in at 3.50 percent. No matter what, you are guaranteed more money tomorrow than today, regardless of the market. Your money is tax deferred. With fixed annuities, your money is tax deferred. You don’t pay taxes on the money until you use it. When you take the distribution, you pay taxes only on the money you take out, and only on your gains. The only exception is a traditional IRA. You deferred your taxes the year you deposited the money and pay the taxes when you make your withdrawal. On all other annuities, unlike invest ments, you don’t pay the taxes until you use the money. It is not subject to probate and estate tax. The money in your annuity is not sub ject to probate. Because it is an insurance product, your beneficiary will receive the money while your estate is being sorted out. The money will be counted as part of the estate assets, but it does not subject to have any estate taxes taken from it when your beneficiary receives the money. You can’t outlive your money. Most retirement accounts are set to a 20-year payout. This means after 20 years, you have no income coming in. With annuities, you have a lifetime op tion. You can choose to have a period cer tain with a lifetime option. What this means is you are guaranteed to get paid until the day you die. If you choose a period with life option and you die before the period, your beneficiary will get the rest of the principle. For example, if you have a 20-year life certain and you die in 10 years, your beneficiary will get the re maining money. If you live beyond 20 years, you will continue to receive pay ments until you die. You can never out live your money. Negatives Long term retirement. Because it is designed to be a long term retirement savings, there is a sur render period. With us, it is a seven-year surrender period. This means if you take money out before seven years, there will be a surrender charge. However, after the first year, you can make up to three with drawals for a total of 10 percent of your balance without any surrender charge. If you have $100,000 balance and you take From the Desk of Delisle L. Doherty

SPJST Vice President of Sales and Marketing It’s Your Life out $12,000, you would only be charged the surrender charge on $2,000. Re member, this is designed for your retire ment or to pass on without probate issues. Government penalty if you are under age 59 1/2. The government charges a 10 percent penalty for early withdrawal if you are under 59 1/2 years of age. This is a gov ernment charge and cannot be waived if you are under 59 1/2. Bottom line. Your money is guaranteed growth, tax deferred, protected from probate, and you can’t outlive it. Your financial advi sor is right - you can become rich in the market, but you can also become poor. If you are looking for a safe place until this financial storm blows through, you may want to consider an annuity with us. “Well done is better than well —Benjaminsaid.”Franklin My door is always open; figuratively and literally.Stay832-232-2049ofViceDelisleblessed,L.DohertyPresidentSalesandMarketing—SPJST—

6 Monday, August 8, 2022 VĚSTNÍK in any way, I want to say a great big thank you! Thank you also to those who attended and supported the event. We appreciate you

Well, it’s been very hot, and this is just July. We really need rain as you all probably do, too. Things are slow here in Elgin. We are hoping everyone will get back in the dancing mood. If we do not get more people to attend our dances, we are afraid that the bands will no longer be able to come. With the price of gas and everything, it’s a challenge for all of us. All I can say is don’t give up . . . we are tough, good people and with the Lord’s help, we can do Soit. with that, we hope to see everyone going again. We miss all you good friends. Life is short . . . let’s not miss out.Our upcoming dances are: Sunday, August 14 Mark Halata Sunday, August 21 Glen Collins and the Alibis Sunday, September 18 Czech Melody Masters Come out to Elgin SPJST to see ev eryone again and get some exercise. There are several simple steps you can take to protect your home from a wildfire. Make each of these a weekend project, and you’ll be ready in no time. Create fire-safe space around your house Remove anything flammable within five feet from your house, such as leaves, firewood, or building materials. Use hard surfaces, such as stone, brick, gravel, or concrete as a buffer. Remove plants near windows, vents, or siding that could catch fire. Trim branches hanging over your roof. Trim lower branches on trees that could ignite from fire on the ground. Keep your lawn and plants watered and remove dead branches or leaves. Maintain roof and gutters Remove leaves, pine needles, and other debris from your rain gutters and roof. They can be ignited easily from windblown embers that travel ahead of a wildfire. You should do this regularly.

Lodge 81, Needville member Baley Stavinoha recently completed a summer internship for 76 days in Prague, Czech Republic. She was waiting on a dragon to fly out! Baley was pleased that most Czech citizens under the age of 35 speak English. She enjoyed boat rides at night on Vltava River to see the lighted skyline. She made new friends from across Europe, and now has a new perspective on the world. 5 Ways to Show Seniors They’re Appreciated Senior citizens account for a signifi cant percentage of the overall pop ulation. Estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau released in 2020 indicate the na tion’s 65-and-older population had grown by more than one-third over the preceding decade. By 2050, the number of senior citizens is expected to be close to 90 million. As of 2021, Statistics Ca nada reported there were roughly 7.1 million persons age 65 and older living in Canada.Peopleare living longer than ever, and as individuals age, the demand for senior services continues to grow - as does the need to be patient and respect the elderly. There are many ways to show seniors just how much they’re ap preciated.

2. Visit more often. Frequent visits are one of the sim plest ways to show seniors you care. Whether seniors live in a private home or managed care facility, visitors brighten their days, especially if they no longer get out and about as frequently as they once did. Spending time together and sharing stories can bring smiles to the faces of older adults.

Lodge 142, Houston members are pictured enjoying their Sunday, July 17, 2022, lodge meeting with an ice cream social on National Ice Cream Day. Members also enjoyed a fried chicken lunch prior to the ice cream.

4. Thank seniors. Find any reason to thank a senior. Perhaps someone served in the military or volunteered their time with children. Celebrate accomplishments big and small with a simple "thank you."

1. Help with chores. Lend a hand with chores around the house that may have grown difficult for seniors. This can include mowing the lawn, weeding garden beds, shoveling snow, raking leaves, or even taking the garbage pails in and out on collection days.

3. Establish a study schedule. Develop a system and a schedule for studying. Students should establish a fixed habit of studying each day or week - whatever is best for him or her. Over time, studying will become routine.

VĚSTNÍK Monday, August 8, 2022 13

4. Establish dedicated study spots. Students should locate places that work best for them as study and home work stations. Certain individuals may need the quiet of a library or a book store. Others may do best with the hum of conversation around them or in a group. There’s no right or wrong study spot. Maintaining consistency will help the mind associate a place with study ing.

6. Rephrase material. Textbook language can be dry and unappealing. Students can try putting the material into their own words or re phrase passages to make them easier to remember and recall. Similarly, teaching or sharing the material with another per son also may improve retention.

1. Find value in the lessons. Many students lament that what they learn in school just isn’t relevant in daily life. That can make the subject matter feel less important and uninteresting. Finding value in what one is learning and seeing how it can be applied outside of the classroom may make a student more inclined to learn and retain infor mation.

7. Make a formula sheet. Depending on the subject, having a sheet with shortcuts, formulas, or dia grams can put the material into smaller bursts of information that are easier to digest. Along this same vein, writing in formation down can help improve re call. These are a few study tips that high schoolers can utilize to improve their grades so they can be more successful in school. (MS)—SPJST—

5. Use grades as benchmarks and motivators. Blaming a teacher for a poor grade won’t get a student anywhere. Rather, grades should indicate how well one is learning the material, and in turn, the ef fectiveness of students’ studying habits. Students can tweak their habits if they find their grades are not where they want them to be.

SPJST Scholarship to Honor the Memory of Tommie and Gladys Lostak Study Tips High School Students Assessments such as quizzes and exams help educators recognize areas where students are excelling and where they might need a little extra help. In ad dition to tests in the classroom, high schoolers generally take standardized testing for state or provincial assessment purposes.Testing may come easier to some stu dents than others, but having solid study techniques can improve students’ per formance on a wide range of exams. In fact, research by Stanford scholars, whose data was published in Psycholog ical Science, found that applying a strategic approach to studying helped college students improve their exam scores by an average of one-third of a letterThegrade.testing preparation resource PrepScholar says it is important to build and maintain strong study habits to help students avoid undue stress and last-mi nute cramming. The following are seven techniques that may help foster good study skills.

Following his graduation from the Uni versity of Texas in 1941, Tommie was employed by Humble Oil and Refining Company. On August 9, 1941, Tommie married Gladys Mollie Kosina. During Tommie’s 10-year stint with Humble Oil, Tommie and Gladys were blessed with three children - Lorenda, Lonnie, and Mollie. In 1956, Tommie and Gla dys welcomed a second son, Harold. When Tommie wasn’t working, he could be found playing with his chil dren, playing on his softball team, or hunting.“Times were hard,” Lorenda recalls. “For entertainment, the kids remember going to the drive-in picture show and one or two having to get down on the floorboard in the back seat, going to dad’s ballgames, and those good old CzechTommiedances.”was a Danbury rice farmer and rancher since 1951, retiring from farming in 1983 and ranching in 1997. A devoted fraternalist, Tommie served as secretary of SPJST Lodge 139, Danbury for 36 years and on the Publication Committee for 12 years. He hosted many annual SPJST district meetings at the Lone Pine in Danbury. He also served on the school board and as president of the Brazoria County Farm Bureau. Tommie was an honorary 4-H member and life member of Future Farmers of America and life member of the Texas Ex-Students’ Association of the University of Texas. He was a past member of the Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, past executive board member with Brazoria County Fair Association, Brazoria County Cat tlemen’s Association, Danbury Athletic Booster Club, and charter member of the Angleton-Danbury hospital. He was a big fan and booster of Danbury ath letics and Danbury Little League. Tommie’s wife, Gladys, was a hard worker as well. She balanced many roles as Tommie’s supporter — always by his side, a mom and owner of a ko lache shop in Danbury for several years. Both Gladys and Tommie shared a pas sion for traveling. Gladys passed away in November 1988. The last 16 years of Tommie’s happy life, he lived with daughter Lorenda and her husband, David Baldwin, until Tommie’s passing in February Individuals2008.seeking to honor the memory of Tommie and Gladys Lostak with a gift to the endowed fund, please visit from page 1

2. Avoid distractions. Study time is time to take a break from social media, video games, and any other distractions that can pull a stu dent away from studying. Constantly checking notifications can interrupt thoughts and make it hard to learn the material.

We little knew that morning God was to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, You did not go alone. For part of us went with you The day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide, And though we cannot see you, You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.

State Queen’s Notebook

Dear Vestnik Readers, As State YAD has just ended, my reign as State Queen has come to a close. This year has been one of learning and growing and a remark able and transformative experience for me. Participating in Westfest, Na tional Polka Festival in Ennis, Christ mas and Fourth of July parades, and other events helped me become a better version of myself than I would have ever imagined. My favorite events would have to be National Polka Festival and visit ing Texas Czech Heritage and Cul tural Center in La Grange. At these events, I was able to become a more involved member of the Czech com munity and add to my knowledge of Czech heritage. But the most mem orable experience had to be making an appearance at the 33rd SPJST State Convention. There, I was able to learn what goes on behind the scenes and how the organization works together across the state. The five parades that I appeared in from freezing cold to burning hot, day or night, were especially fun because I got to see the faces of excited children and each of the cities united in celebration. But, of course, this would not have been possible with out the support of many people. I would first like to thank my family, especially my parents La vonne and Wade Ohnheiser, and my grandparents Omie, Opa, and Mamaw for their undying love and support in every event in which I participated. I would like to thank my Duchess Lily, Duke Zane, and their parents for making this year unforgettable. I would also like to extend a thank you to King Caleb. It was great getting to know you over this past year. I would also like to thank Lodge 185, New Braunfels Youth Leader Jessi McCoy; District Seven Youth Counselor April Howard; District Seven Director Regina House; State Fraternal Director Frank Horak; Vice President of Communications Melanie Zavodny; and President/CEO Brian Vanicek - all of whom contributed their time and effort to make this a mem orable year. This year was truly amazing, and I would love to relive it if I could.

Lastly, congratu lations to the new State RoyaltyQueen Brooke, Duchess Vanessa, King J. Beaux, and Duke Jase. And, if I may add a piece of advice, enjoy your time having the title, because that one year goes by

Well, I believe it is for you and me, for all of us to take the lessons learned from our past and make the most of the opportunities we are given. As SPJST members, young and old, we should re spect and admire what our Czech an cestors started more than 125 years ago. Strong SPJST families should spend time together, have commitment, show appreciation, foster communica tion, and manage stress and crisis effec tively.Everyone in this room is branches and leaves on this SPJST Family tree. youSPJSTfriends,judges,Welcomefamily,andfellowmembers.Thankforjoiningustoday.NestledinRockport, Texas, you will find The Big Tree, one of the largest and oldest oak trees in the world. The Big Tree is huge standing 45 feet tall, with a 35-foot circumfer ence, and a 90-foot crown spread. It has withstood over 50 major hurri canes, droughts, floods, and wildfires. When I think about The Big Tree – the SPJST family easily comes to mind. SPJST was founded 125 years ago by Czech immigrants who came to America seeking a better life for their families. It was built on the idea of taking care of those around you and taking care of your family. Just like The Big Tree, our SPJST ancestors overcame hardships, even today we are battling to get back to the norm after COVID. The roots of our SPJST family were cemented firmly by our ancestors. The success of the organi zation was not because of individual accomplishments; but rather what members of SPJST do for others. “Doing for others” is a core character istic and is accomplished each time our youth club visits the nursing home, sends care packages to soldiers, cleans community cemeteries, and provides meals to families in need. My SPJST family has taught me that by helping others, I am also helping myself.Looking at our SPJST Family Tree we take great pride in the youth pro grams, as our youth are our fu ture branches and leaves.

Dobry den, distinguished judges, respected leaders, family, and friends. Words cannot express how it feels to be up on this stage today, in front of you all, running for SPJST State Queen. Thanks to the lead ership experiences that I have participated in through being a member of SPJST, I have created many memories and gained many skills that I will cherish for a thingsionoverthinkyounger,WhenawkwardamaboutyouJustlifetime.totellalittlemyself,Iarecoveringperson.IwasIwouldeverydecithatImadeoranythatIsaidbecause I was worried about the impres sion I would make on others or the embarrassment I would face. For in stance, when I was in sixth grade, I remember going to my first middle school dance. I planned out the exact thing I was going to say to my crush when I asked him to dance with me. In the long run, it didn’t make much of a difference. It was still awkward! However, my experience with SPJST has helped me to gain selfconfidence and open up to be more personable as I’ve gotten older. My six-year-old self, who literally feared the swim test at Camp Kubena, would have never envisioned herself up on this stage, running for SPJST Queen. SPJST has helped me broaden my social skills because it served as a secondary family for me. We have all bonded over different ex periences and memories we have made as a family. I think everyone here would agree that Camp Kubena is one of the most memorable experi ences that SPJST has to offer. Per sonally, Camp Kubena made it easier for me to open up to others since it was a clean slate for me to meet new people. People who already knew me beforehand were shocked to see how outgoing I could actually be. Like a family, SPJST has offered reassurance and comfort as well as a place where I didn’t have to worry about how others would judgeAlthoughme. I was an awk ward child, public speak ing in group talent helped me break free of my stage fright and led me to par ticipating in speech and debate in high school as well as vol unteering for public speak ing opportunities where I could communicate with ease. It has al lowed me to branch out and feel con fident while participating in Policy Debate at the various debate tourna ments this past year. Similarly, being in SPJST has also helped me develop my character with other valuable vir tues such as responsibility, generos ity, and service. In conclusion, being in the SPJST youth club has been a huge growth opportunity for me as an individual as I have learned all aspects of friend ship, fraternalism, and most impor tantly - family. I am so appreciative to have been a part of my SPJST family, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for all of my fellow SPJST family members. I know that they have all taken away great things and will continue to learn and grow within this organization, and that it will benefit them in their future endeavors. Dekuji and thank you.

“No hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle.” ~ Winston Churchill. Churchill understood that to be in the saddle meant to be ready for any chal lenges that one may need to face in life. As a cowboy, to “saddle up” means to prepare your horse and yourself for the day’s adventure and for whatever may come your way. Saddling up with SPJST to me means to take the life lessons that I learn from this organization and use those skills to help prepare me for life. One way that SPJST has taught me to saddle up for life is by lending a hand to those in need. At the age of six, I started attending SPJST meetings. It was here that I had many role models showing me the way. As many of the older members would help set up for the meetings, I ob served and soon began helping to set up for the meetings as well. Serving as the vice president this past year, I arrived earlier to meetings to find ways to help with the set-up process or ways to assist with the items of the meeting including aiding our younger members with proj ects or Saddlingcrafts.up with SPJST also means learning how to be respectful and respon sible. These attributes have been instilled in me over the years through our many service projects that have benefited our community. As Valentine’s Day nears, we spend our meeting creating Valen tine’s Day cards to deliver to our local nursing homes. This particular service day is one that I look forward to each year. As we walk the hallways of the nursing homes and hand out the handcrafted cards covered in glitter, the res idents of the nursing home are all smiles and grins as we come by to greet them. The reason that this proj ect means so much to me is because I understand that many residents at the

We then bring the goods together and create baked goods baskets for the local teachers. Again, it is a simple gesture, but one I know that is greatly appreciated. Saddling up for the open range may also mean pulling out the kroj (our col orful, traditional Czech costume) for the

“Training horses, heck, riding horses isn’t easy. Failing is part of the process. It’s how you brush yourself off and get back in the saddle that counts most. There’s beauty in the breakdown. Carson Parker, age 17, a member of Lodge 17, New Tabor in District One, is the recipient of the 2022 SPJST State Merit Scholarship. He is the son of Jen nifer Parker and the late Jimmy Parker. He received the $1,500 scholarship during the SPJST State Youth Achieve ment Day awards ceremony held at the Frank W. Mayborn Civic and Conven tion Center in Temple on July 30, 2022. Teens from each district with the most youth merit points over the last three years competed for the scholar ship. As part of the competition, each teen submitted a 1,000-word essay on the topic “Saddle Up With SPJST!”

I have had to teach the dance to the next generation of dancers. It has been during these prac tices that I have had to learn the skill of patience. You have to teach the dance in sections and give many breaks. It also may require you to sacrifice a few toes in order for the younger members to learn the beseda! In the end, all the patience and practice is worth it when we all hit the stage at the annual Kolache Festival. It all seems to come together as our feet step out onto that concrete floor with the eyes of our parents, grandparents, group leaders, former lodge members, and even many great-grandparents. The beseda dance is one of the continued traditions that has been drawing new members to saddle up withSPJSTSPJST.has also taught me many ways to “cinch” a saddle in order to prepare for the real world which includes learning to be a good citizen and to give back to my community. I have already mentioned a few of our local service projects, but another one would be cleaning the local cemeteries. Each year in the month of May, we spend the day picking up trash and weeds at our local cemeteries. This is a way to give back to the community by providing a clean and beautiful area for those that are in mourning in our community. Another way that we try to give back to our community is by partic ipating in the local school supplies drive. As a lodge, we donate and collect school supplies that are then handed out at the community-wide school supply bash. Parents and students come by our local booths to collect school supplies and hear about many local organizations in cluding SPJST.

August 9 at The Beltonian Czech Film Night at The Beltonian Theatre is Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 6 p.m. The Czech Heritage Museum and the historic Beltonian Theatre will screen The Search. The Beltonian Theatre is located at 219 East Central Avenue in Belton. The Search is a 1948 American film directed by Fred Zinnemann that tells the story of a young Auschwitz survivor and his mother who search for each other ac ross post-World War II Europe. It stars Montgomery Clift, Ivan Jandl, Jarmila Novotná, and Aline MacMahon. Many scenes were shot amidst the ac tual ruins of the postwar German cities Ingolstadt, Munich, Nuremberg, and Würzburg. Filming took place between June and November 1947, first on loca tion in Germany then at a studio in Zu rich, Switzerland, for interior scenes. Although released in the United States in March 1948, the film was not released in Britain until May 1950. Its European premiere was held at the Em pire, Leicester Square in London on No vember 2, 1949, in aid of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children with Queen Mary in atten dance.Jandl’s performance was recognized with a special juvenile Academy Award. However, the communist government of Czechoslovakia would not permit Jandl to travel to the United States to collect the Oscar and a Golden Globe award that he had also won. Zinnemann accepted the Oscar on Jandl’s behalf, and the awards were delivered to Jandl in Prague. The film stars Montgomery Clift as Ralph “Steve” Stevenson; Aline Mac Mahon as Mrs. Murray; Jarmila Novotná as Mrs. Hanna Malik; Wendell Corey as Jerry Fisher; Ivan Jandl as Karel Malik / “Jim”; Mary Patton as Mrs. Fisher; Ewart G. Morrison as Mr. Crookes; Wil liam Rogers as Tom Fisher; Leopold Borkowski as Joel Markowsky; Claude Gambier as Raoul Dubois; and Avigdor (Victor) Murik, as the children’s teacher in the Jewish orphans scene. —Source: Wikipedia The trailer can be viewed at https://youtu.be/vK5n4D3jc44SusanChandler,DirectorCHMGC—SPJST—

Czech Heritage Museum announces new Community Engagement Board

SS

The Czech Heritage Museum and Genealogy Center recently formed a new Community Engagement Board. The board will support promotional, programming, and fundraising efforts for the “Wemuseum.werereally in need of local community leaders,” said Susan Chan dler, museum director. “I approached people who had already expressed to me a heart for preserving history and her itage, who value having a museum in the community and/or who hold a real love for Czech and central European culture,” said Susan Chandler, museum director. “Every person I asked re sponded yes with enthusiasm,” Chan dlerBoardsaid. member Jeremy Jirasek of Ji rasek Realty has been observing the rapid population growth in the area. “We’ve doubled in size in 30 years,” Ji rasek said. “I don’t know if people that have moved to Temple would be aware of this Czech heritage that we have in our community without the Czech Her itageJerryMuseum.”Haisler is also serving on the board. “The reason I’m willing to be in volved is that I think the Museum and collection of things that represent Czech culture is our legacy and important to keep and maintain. We’ve made a lot of progress to get to where we are, but now we need to move to the next level. We need a broader audience and now we have some synergy going with many people who bring their circles of in fluence. When you get with a network of people, you can do things that are not attainable with one person or a select group,” said Haisler.

Bohumir Menzel “The Life and Sojourn in Texas of Reverend Bohumir Menzel” will be pre sented by Dr. Lukáš Perutka on Thurs day, August 25, 2022, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center (TCHCC) Hanslik Hall, 250 Fairgrounds Road in La Grange,ReverendTexas.
