A complete tea experience

CELEBRATE TEA WITH LIPTON

A toast to tea. Raise your tea glasses as we pay tribute to one of the world’s greatest beverage – the aromatic brew known as tea. With more than 300 variants and enjoyed in almost every culture worldwide, tea holds the record as the second most drunk beverage in the world. As the world’s leading tea brand, Lipton possesses an unrivalled century’s wealth of tea experience. This same tradition of excellence and fine teas continues to be our trademark and promise. We hope that you will fall in love with tea, just as we at Lipton have.

WE SERVE TEA TO THE WORLD

Tea, anybody?

In 2737 BC, a Chinese emperor Shen Nung was being served a cup of boiling water when a gust of wind blew some leaves into his drink. This, as legend would have it, was how tea was discovered.

Sir Thomas J. Lipton

We step into the tea story a little later. More than a century ago, an innovative grocer took a gamble of a lifetime. He bought tea estates in Ceylon and India and shipped the teas back to England. Experimenting with different teas, he created unique blends to be sold in his stores. This man was none other than Sir Thomas J. Lipton, founder of a company and brand that would one day be synonymous with teas. Today, Lipton continues to live out Sir Thomas’ passion for tea. We share the love of this special beverage by bringing quality teas to communities across 100 countries. Sourcing the best teas from estates worldwide, we create the most fragrant of blends for tea lovers everywhere. We even own and operate tea plantations in East Africa. With Lipton, you discover that tea can do that and more.

WE’VE ACED BOTH THE SCIENCE AND THE ART OF TEA

Masters of tea.

In the spirit of Sir Thomas, we go great distances to make you the perfect cup of tea. In fact, there is a dedicated team tasting your tea at this very moment. All our teas undergo the stringent standards of professional tea tasters before it gets the Lipton seal of endorsement. That’s why you can count on consistent high quality blends from Lipton. And that’s why we dare say we’re the tea experts. Blending gives the tea subtle tones and aromatic notes, enabling the creation of teas that are greater than the sum of their parts. Through careful blending of tea leaves sourced from more than 30 countries, we achieve consistency in taste and aroma expected of every cup of Lipton tea. Being an expert on teas requires investment. The Lipton Institute of Tea, headquartered in UK, keeps us on top of the topic through in-depth research and exciting finds. Based on our research, we relentlessly create new innovations to better the tea experience. We are also excited to uncover new health benefits to drinking tea. At the end of the day, we want to see more people enjoy the goodness of tea.

WE THINK TEA FOR TODAY AND TOMORROW

The future of tea is in our hands. As the world’s leading tea producer, we are aware that our global footprint is large. Our business relies heavily on the land and the need for sustainability is very real. We are committed to sourcing our teas from sustainably managed farms. Several of our tea farms, including our Kericho, Kenya estate, have been Rainforest Alliance certified. This means that biodiversity is preserved, the welfare of the workers is protected and the farms are well-managed and efficient. We are also targeting to have all our teas sourced solely from Rainforest Alliance by 2015. Do visit www.rainforestalliance.com for more information. We want future generations to enjoy Lipton’s teas, so we’re taking conservation and sustainability very seriously today.
