Captain’s Message
A Sunday afternoon at Leichhardt Oval the crowd packed to the rafters, a Friday night blockbuster under lights at Campbelltown Stadium or a nail biting evening in front of a sea of black, white and orange at the SFS, that is what I live for. There is nothing better than the energy and excitement of playing in front of a packed out Wests Tigers crowd. There is something very special about running out onto the field and hearing the roar from our Members. The boys and I really hit our straps at the right time of the year and it was our Member’s that played a huge part in that success this year and over the last few seasons. Our team is not made up of the seventeen men that take the field each week, our team is our 9,500 Members that inspire us each week to run faster, tackle harder and do whatever we can to achieve our best. Season 2011 was another exciting year of football in the National Rugby League competition. Wests Tigers were in good company demonstrating extraordinary talent and producing some of the most exciting games of the year. It was so great to see so many Members out at the games every week cheering on our great team. The crowd numbers are testament to that and spurred us on towards the Finals Series. This could not have been achieved without the steadfast support of our Wests Tigers Member base which continues to expand year on year.
I look forward to standing with you as team Wests Tigers in 2012.
