I am looking to go to college to further my education significantly whilst continuing my athletics to a high standard and feel that attending an American college is the best way to do this due to the cultural value of and attitude to sport. I feel I have a lot to offer a college as not only am I one of the best discus throwers in the UK for my age, gaining an England vest, I am multi-disciplined and can also compete in the other throwing events when needed, despite not training for them specifically.
My strong work ethic and committment to both my studies and my sport are shown in my results. I am very organised and capable of balancing my time efficiently. I am comfortable working both in a team and independently and have no trouble motivating myself to push hard in training. I am very dedicated and like to know that I did everything I could to achieve my best in sport and believe that an American college is the best place to do this. I relish the chance to compete for a college team and would feel a lot of pride in doing so.

Reference Re: Rachel Forder DOB: 03-12-1996 To whom it may concern: Rachel is a committed, diligent and friendly student who has very high expectations of herself. During her AS studies, Rachel worked tirelessly to achieve a great set of results, a reflection of her effort throughout the year. Being a new student into a Sixth of 500, Rachel settled in very quickly and developed positive relationships with friends and teachers with great ease. Within the PE department Rachel has been a true asset. During the summer term she coached many of the younger students involved in the schools National Athletics squad, giving up her free time to do so. Many of these students preferred her coaching to the staff! She gave invaluable coaching points and supported the team with fixtures and competitions outside of school. Rachel also supported PE lessons during this time, demonstrating incredible patience and a calm, methodical approach to raising students’ ability and identifying raw talent. I unreservedly recommend Rachel to you, she is a fantastic young lady with vast potential and would fully engage in a scholarship programme.
