Welcome
"To be successful; you have to want to be successful, as much as you want to breathe". This quote epitomizes my work ethic and attitude towards being successful, especially in sport. Having received academy level coaching throughout my life I have developed a strong philosophy based on possession and expansive play. This has allowed my technical and tactical sides of the game to flourish meaning I have learned many formations and adapted to lots of midfield roles. This being said, I'm still a very physical player and I love battling with players in midfield even though they usually have height advantage because I am very driven with a positive aggressive attitude on the pitch giving me a competitive edge. My strong technical ability means that I'm not just physically strong on the ball but my ball retention as an individual and as part of a team are areas where I excel, even under pressure from opponents due to receiving techniques that I have picked up. These skills allowed me to develop and look good while training with a local semi Professional team in the EVO-STIK Non-league (9th tier of English football) at 16. Since then I have played open age on a few occasions even getting the full 90 minutes against some opposition showing that I can deal with aggressive and physical players. As well as this, I have been asked to the North West Center of Excellence on trial for a proposed England U19s team for futsal. Futsal is a game based heavily on technical ability and tactical awareness, especially when defending. This has magnified my development in these areas when on an 11-a-side pitch because the distances are larger and so positioning is key. Futsal has made me more composed on the ball in tight spaces meaning that I will take the ball under pressure to relieve pressure in other areas of the pitch, giving others time on the ball. Also, the tight space forces me to see passes quicker and make much more direct and effective passes that hurt the opposition and reduce the chance of them getting possession whilst creating chances to score ourselves.

When playing in midfield, thanks in part to futsal, I find myself threading much more difficult passes through successfully to my attackers and therefore tiring out the opposition even if the chance isn't scored because they will have to run backwards to regain possession of the ball due to the positive pass that I have played. This not only gives me personal confidence but allows the team to gain momentum in the match which could be crucial to whether we win, lose or draw.
