Thomas Ardron
Welcome by Thomas Ardron
I finished my last year in High School with 1A*, 8A’s and a B at iGCSE level and my final year at Sixth Form with three a-levels in Maths, Chemistry and Economics. Personally my academic success has always been paramount when making decisions based on my education. I have always seen school as a place where learning comes first and sporting activities second. Alongside my academics, I have always been involved with soccer. When I had to make the decision on which university to attend, I decided that British universities could not satisfy both of my passions and so I turned to the US. Soccer is where I excel and have done for many years. For the past 6 years I have been playing with professional football clubs including Liverpool and Preston and represented ISFA England at U18’s level on a tour to Portugal, where we played against both Sporting Lisbon and Benfica U18’s. I have always been someone whom strives for the very best and I make a conscious effort to continue to improve on my weaknesses and develop my strengths. I would love the opportunity to study in the US in order to test my sporting ability amongst the greatest, and my academic ability against the brightest.

To whom it may concern, I am writing a reference in support of Tom Ardron’s application for a Football/Soccer related Scholarship. I worked with Tom during the 2014-15 season after he had successfully been selected for both the North of England and subsequently the Full National Independent Schools Under 18 Representative Squads. Tom played in all of our fixtures against Premier League opponents and National Youth squads from Wales and Scotland (scoring in that game) before making the squad for our end of season tour again playing against professional Youth teams such as FC Benfica and Sporting Lisbon. Throughout the time I have worked with Tom he has been an attacking option. He possesses great technique and has the beating of a player in a 1 against 1 situation. Tom perfectly complemented our football style and is an excellent link up player when we are playing through the thirds of the football pitch. He has excellent fitness levels and has a great work ethic. In short he has been a pleasure to work with throughout. Not only is Tom an excellent footballer he is a very impressive young man who is always looking to learn and improve. He always made sure that he understood his role in the team to the letter and was very receptive to feedback. He is very level headed and has improved as the season has progressed. He wants to know ways of improving his performances and he was a fantastic young man to work with. If your football team had 11 Tom Ardron’s coaching would be too easy! I would fully support any application Tom makes that is football related. Many thanks, Mike Hindle ISFA U18 Coach
Friday 06th November 2015 RE: Tom Ardron To whom it may concern: I am writing with reference to the above named player who has represented Preston North End FC as an Academy Player for 3 Seasons. He has played in a number of positions for the Academy. These have been: - Left Midfield / Wing - Centre Midfield (Attacking) His commitment and attitude to training and games was first class at all. Tom is technically a good player with a good understanding of how the game should be played. His attitude to the game and willingness to improve has always been good and I have no doubt that will continue throughout the career. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me by email (nick@pne.com). Yours Sincerely Nick Harrison Academy Manager Preston North End Football Club
