TEAM NOTES VS. TULSA • In the first week of play, six of 13 contests were won by away teams, although both the Rangers and Tulsa earned home wins in their season openers. • Saturday's game is the first of four meetings between the two sides this season. The Rangers will host the Roughnecks on May 14 before traveling to Tulsa again on August 6. The two sides will close out their season series at Swope Soccer Village on September 10.

PLAYER NOTES VS. TULSA • Kris Tyrpak leads the team with two goals against the Roughnecks, both coming in a 20 Austin Aztex win on April 5, 2015 at ONEOK Field. In three games vs. Tulsa in 2015, Tyrpak was 111 as a member of the Aztex. • Christian Duke has four career appearances against the Roughnecks, all coming in 2015 as a member of OKC Energy FC. Of those four games, Duke started two and compiled a 112 record. • A teammate of Christian Duke at OKC Energy, Jacob VanCompernolle started three of the club's four games against Tulsa last year, going 012 in those games. • Tommy Meyer started one game against Tulsa last year while with LA Galaxy II, earning a 42 victory on June 27. • Goalkeeper Zac Lubin was a member of the Tulsa Roughnecks in 2015, playing 15 games as club captain before joining the Rangers in the offseason. • SPR's Jon Kempin and Alex Molano spent time with the U.S. Soccer Under17 Residency program alongside Tulsa's Carlos Martinez in 2008 and 2009. • Ray Lee, who just signed for the Roughnecks this week, is a Sporting KC Academy product who was drafted by the Philadelphia Union in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. Lee made one appearance for the Union, coming against Sporting KC at Children's Mercy Park on April 5, 2015.

GAME NOTES FIRST TIME ON THE ROAD Saturday's game against Tulsa Roughnecks FC is the Swope Park Rangers' firstever road game in club history, having recorded a 21 home win over Timbers 2 in the team's inaugural game last weekend. Including the start of the 2016 USL season, MLSowned USL teams are 154 in their firstever away games. That mark means that half of those teams came away with one or three points in their first road outing, although Tulsa inflicted two of the five defeats. ON THE ROUGHNECKS Tulsa Roughnecks FC were a USL expansion team in 2015, compiling an 11116 record to narrowly miss out on a playoff berth by three points after finishing in seventh place in the Western Conference with 39 points. The Roughnecks opened the 2016 season in positive fashion, earning a 20 home win over Rio Grande Valley FC following an own goal and a strike from Carlos Martinez while goalkeeper Alex Mangels made 12 saves to keep RGV at bay. The club is led by head coach and USL veteran David Irving, who spent 17 years with the Wilmington Hammerheads, posting a 412514 USL record and qualifying to the postseason twice before leaving the club in 2014 and taking charge of Tulsa ahead of their expansion year. OLIVEIRA IMPRESSES IN TEAM DEBUT Last Saturday, Kevin Oliveira scored the first goal in club history from the spot in the 48th minute, earning him Man of the Match honors. In addition, he was recognized by the USL on Tuesday when he was named to the first USL Team of the Week of the season. Oliveira was a driving force in the midfield for the Rangers, taking three shots in the game with two landing on frame including his penalty kick while he also showed some steel, committing two fouls and earning the only SPR yellow card in the game with a 54thminute foul. SALLOI MAKES INSTANT IMPACT On Friday, March 25, the Swope Park Rangers announced that three Sporting KC players had been added on loan: Jon Kempin, Jimmy Medranda and Daniel Salloi. While Kempin and Medranda each started against Timbers 2 the following day, Sporting KC Homegrown player Salloi had to be patient before replacing Tomas Granitto with five minutes remaining in the contest. It didn't take long for Salloi to make his mark on the game, with the Hungarian forward linking up with Mark Anthony Gonzalez early in stoppage time to score what ended up being the gamewinning goal with a clinical finish. PRESEASON FORM CONTINUES FOR GONZALEZ Forward Mark Anthony Gonzalez made the most of his minutes in preseason, scoring a teamhigh three goals while appearing primarily off the bench. On Saturday night, he continued the trend of contributing off the bench when his outsideofthefoot pass found Daniel Salloi streaking into the T2 area who finished firsttime for the gamewinning goal.

KELLY SHOWS QUALITY Swope Park Rangers forward Dane Kelly is the USL's alltime leading scorer with 42 goals, and on Saturday night he showed the qualities that has made him one of the most feared striker in the league. Kelly took a teamhigh four shots, forcing the Timbers 2 goalkeeper into two saves while his other two efforts narrowly missed the target. Early in the second half, Kelly capped his performance when he was fouled for the penalty that Kevin Oliveira converted for the club's firstever goal. U.S. RESIDENCY TEAMMATES Two members of the Swope Park Rangers will take on an old friend on Saturday night, with Jon Kempin and Alex Molano facing Tulsa's Carlos Martinez. The three players spent time in the U.S. Soccer Under17 Residency Program together in 2008 and 2009. Kempin started the Rangers season opener last weekend while Molano was not in the 18man squad. Tulsa's Martinez scored a spectacular half volley just 12 seconds into the second half of their game against Rio Grande Valley FC, a feat that earned him a spot on the USL Team of the Week. ACADEMY REUNION Swope Park Rangers goalkeeper Jon Kempin will see another familiar face on Saturday in Ray Lee, who recently signed for Tulsa Roughnecks FC. Kempin and Lee both came through the Sporting KC Academy and were teammates until Kempin was signed as a Homegrown player in 2010. Lee, a Kansas City, Mo. native, was selected by the Philadelphia Union in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft and made one appearance for the club, coming as a substitute in a 32 defeat against his hometown team at Children's Mercy Park on April 5, 2015. LUBIN RETURNS TO FORMER CLUB Saturday's game between the Swope Park Rangers and Tulsa Roughnecks FC will mark the first time Rangers goalkeeper Zac Lubin returns to the club where he spent the 2015 USL season. Lubin started the first 15 games as club captain in the Roughnecks' inaugural season, posting two shutouts and recording a leaguehigh 4.87 saves per game on his way to a 483 record. YOUTHFUL SQUAD The average age of the Swope Park Rangers squad is 22.3, which is the seventh lowest in the 29team league. The roster includes six teenagers in Ezra Armstrong (17), Will Little (17), Nansel Selbol (18), Steven Tekesky (18), Kevin Oliveira (19) and Daniel Salloi (19), while the oldest players on the squad are Zac Lubin and Tommy Meyer, both 26. The leaguewide average age is 24.3, with FC Montreal boasting the youngest team with a mean of 21.2 while Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC and the Richmond Kickers are tied for the oldest with 26.5. Saturday's opponents Tulsa Roughnecks FC are 15th in the league in terms of lowest average age with 25.1, though

GAME NOTES CONT. they are the third youngest team that isn't owned by a MLS side. The youngest 12 teams are all either owned or operated by a MLS team. USL EXPANSION SEASON The 2016 season is the Swope Park Rangers' USL expansion season. For the eight MLSowned USL teams that entered the league prior to the Rangers, only three qualified for the postseason in their initial attempt. LA Galaxy II made it to the semifinals in 2014 while New York Red Bulls II advanced to the Eastern Conference Semifinals and Seattle Sounders 2 were eliminated in the Western Conference First Round in 2015. FC Montreal, Portland Timbers 2, Real Monarchs, Toronto FC II and Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 did not qualify for the USL Playoffs in their inaugural season in 2015. CANADIAN CONNECTION There is a distinct Canadian influence on this Swope Park Rangers team, with six players and staff connected to our neighbors up north. On the playing side, Amer Didic (Edmonton, Alberta), Mark Anthony Gonzalez (Bolton, Ontario), Johnny Grant (Toronto, Ontario) and Tyler Pasher (Elmira, Ontario) all hail from Canada, while head coach Marc Dos Santos was born in Montreal and began his coaching career with the Impact in 2007. In addition, goalkeeper coach Alec Dufty spent the 2015 season in the USL coaching with Toronto FC II. POSITIVE PRESEASON Despite being a firstyear team, the Swope Park Rangers hit the ground running in their preseason preparations. After only 10 days of training, the Rangers opened up their Desert Diamond Cup play in Tucson by beating MLS side the Colorado Rapids 31 on Feb. 17 and also drew 22 with Columbus Crew SC a week later. Overall, the Rangers concluded preseason with a 312 record, with their sole defeat coming in their final game against Creighton University. USL EXPERIENCE Of the 22 players on the Swope Park Rangers current roster, nine have previously played in the USL. Most notably, Dane Kelly is the USL's alltime leading scorer with 42 goals since joining the Charleston Battery in 2011. Christian Duke spent the last two seasons with OKC Energy FC, helping the side to a playoff berth in 2015 with the help of Jacob VanCompernolle. Tommy Meyer was minutes from claiming the 2015 USL Championship as his LA Galaxy II side fell to the Rochester Rhinos in extra time. Kris Tyrpak spent the 2015 season with the Austin Aztex, scoring nine goals for his hometown club. Jon Kempin (Orlando City SC, OKC Energy FC) spent time on loan at Sporting KC's former affiliates. Johnny Grant (FC Montreal), Zac Lubin (Tulsa Roughnecks FC) and Tyler Pasher (Pittsburgh Riverhounds) also have USL experience. STRAIGHT OUTTA MLS

While there is a significant amount of USL knowhow in the squad, two players also boast MLS experience in Tommy Meyer and Kris Tyrpak. Meyer was drafted in the first round of the 2012 MLS SuperDraft by the LA Galaxy and went on to make 57 appearances in all competitions for the club, winning MLS Cup in 2012 and 2014 along the way. Tyrpak was drafted by Chivas USA in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, tallying one goal against the Colorado Rapids and one assist against FC Dallas before the club folded at the end of that season. Two further players were also signed by MLS teams but did not make an appearance, with Oumar Ballo drafted by the Houston Dynamo in 2015 and Christian Duke spending the 2013 and 2014 seasons with Sporting KC. INTERNATIONAL FLAVOR There are eight members of the Swope Park Rangers that were born outside of the U.S. and Canada. Oumar Ballo (Mali), Amer Didic (Bosnia & Herzegovina), Tomas Granitto (El Salvador), Dane Kelly (Jamaica), Kevin Oliveira (Cape Verde), Daniel Salloi (Hungary) Nansel Selbol (Nigeria) and Ualefi (Brazil) were all born outside of North America and through different channels found their way to the Rangers. Each USL team is permitted seven Foreign Players on their roster, though the Rangers only occupy five with Oumar Ballo, Amer Didic and Tomas Granitto qualifying as domestic players. POTENT STRIKEFORCE On Dec. 16, the Swope Park Rangers announced the signings of Dane Kelly and Kris Tyrpak, who combined for 20 goals in the USL regular season in 2015. Kelly is the USL's alltime leading scorer with 42 goals with the Charelston Battery, while Kris Tyrpak has scored goals in MLS, NASL, USL and USL PDL. In all competitions last season, Kelly (12) and Tyrpak (11) had 23 goals between them. ACADEMY TIES On March 10, the Swope Park Rangers announced the signings of Ezra Armstrong, Will Little and Steven Tekesky to Academy contracts ahead of the 2016 USL season. All three players joined the Rangers directly from the Sporting KC Academy after spending a large portion of preseason with the team. Armstrong and Little both relocated to Kansas City within the last few years from Tennessee to join the Sporting KC Academy, while Tekesky is a Raymore, Mo. native. Armstrong comes from a family with pedigree, with his father, Desmond Armstrong, a National Hall of Famer. FIRST TEAM HELP Last month, the Swope Park Rangers announced that the club had added Sporting Kansas City's Jon Kempin, Jimmy Medranda and Daniel Salloi on loan. All three players contributed immediately in

GAME NOTES CONT. the season opener against Timbers 2, with Kempin and Medranda starting before Salloi appeared off the bench to notch the game足 winning goal late in the contest. Medranda was recalled to Sporting KC ahead of their game vs. Real Salt Lake on Saturday. CAPTAIN DUKE On Wednesday, March 23, the Swope Park Rangers' first足ever signing Christian Duke was named captain of the club ahead of the season opener. Duke is an Overland Park, Kan. native that came through Sporting KC's Academy before enjoying a four足year college career at the University of San Diego. He was selected by Sporting KC in the 2013 Supplemental Draft but did not make an appearance, instead spending time on loan at OKC Energy FC before joining the club permanently in 2015. LOCAL PRESENCE IN THE SQUAD While there are three players on the Swope Park Rangers roster who are directly from the Kansas City area, five more have

connections to the city. Christian Duke (Overland Park, Kan.), Jon Kempin (Leawood, Kan.) and Steven Tekesky (Raymore, Mo.) were all raised in the region, while Ezra Armstrong, Will Little, Daniel Salloi and Nansel Selbol all entered the club through the Sporting KC Academy despite not being natives of the area. In addition, center back Tommy Meyer is from St. Louis, Mo. and returns to his home state after spending eight years away. CONNECTED TO SWOPE PARK The team name, "Swope Park Rangers", is a moniker that stems from the days of the old MLS Reserve League. Sporting Kansas City's reserve side would play games at Swope Soccer Village at Swope Park, and fans who followed the side coined the name Swope Park Rangers in reference to the team. The name was never used through official club channels until October 22, 2015, when Sporting Club introduced the Swope Park Rangers as the club's new USL side. The club will play the majority of it's home games at Children's Mercy Victory Field at Swope Soccer Village.
