In 2012, Nielsen was named MLS Goalkeeper of the Year. • Saturday's game is the first of four meetings this season between the two sides. OKC will visit Swope Soccer Village on June 18 and July 12 before the Rangers head back to Taft Stadium on Sept. 18 to wrap up the season series. • OKC Energy FC is Sporting KC's former USL affiliate, having been connected with the club in 2014 and 2015.

PLAYER NOTES VS. OKC ENERGY • The Swope Park Rangers' current roster contains three former OKC Energy FC players, with Christian Duke (201415), Jon Kempin (2014) and Jacob VanCompernolle (2015) all spending time with Sporting KC's former USL affiliate. Jimmy Medranda also spent time on loan with OKC in 2014. Duke and VanCompernolle helped the side claim their firstever USL Playoff berth in 2015. • The Energy's squad also contains two former Sporting Kansas City players in Cyprian Hedrick, who was drafted by Sporting KC in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft, and Michael Thomas, who is an Olathe, Kan. native and played for Sporting in 2012 and 2013. • In addition, OKC's Jordan Rideout played for the Sporting KC Academy from 20072010 while his father, former Wizards player Paul Rideout, was an Academy coach. • Three OKC players spent time with Kansas City's former USL PDL team, the Kansas City Brass. GAME NOTES RANGERS TO CONCLUDE ROAD SWING The Swope Park Rangers head to Oklahoma City this weekend to take on OKC Energy FC in what is the club's third consecutive road game. The Rangers have posted a 101 record away from home so far this season after a win against Tulsa Roughnecks FC and a tie with San Antonio FC. SPR will endure two more threegame road swings this season: May 21 June 4 and Aug. 313. The club will return to Taft Stadium to face OKC Energy FC in the Rangers' final away game of the season on Sept. 18. Following Saturday's game, the Rangers will return home to face Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 in the club's first game at Swope Soccer Village on Wednesday, April 27. LOOKING TO STAY UNBEATEN Entering the weekend, the Swope Park Rangers (201, 7 pts.) are one of five unbeaten teams remaining in the USL, alongside LA Galaxy II (203, 9 pts.), New York Red Bulls II (202, 8 pts.), Toronto FC II (102, 5 pts.) and Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 (201, 7 pts.). No team is perfect anymore, after the Colorado Springs Switchbacks (210, 6 pts.) fell on Sunday to Seattle Sounders FC 2. Conversely, OKC Energy FC are winless through two games with a 011 record that has them rooted to the foot of the Western Conference standings. FORTRESS TAFT The Swope Park Rangers will take on OKC Energy FC at Taft Stadium this week a ground where the Energy lost just once in 2015 on their way to posting a 1012 record, claiming 32 of the club's 47 points. However, both of OKC's games in 2016 have been home at Taft Stadium and the club is winless with a 011 record. In addition, the Energy have already conceded half as many goals in two games this season (4) as they did across all 13 home games last campaign (8). KANSAS CITY INFLUENCE ON OKC SQUAD Three members of the OKC Energy FC squad have deep ties to the Kansas City region in Coady Andrews, Jordan Rideout and Michael Thomas. Andrews is a Shawnee, Kan. native and played for the now defunct Kansas City Brass of the USL PDL, while Rideout is the son of former Kansas City Wizards player Paul Rideout and spent four years with the Sporting KC Academy while his father was coaching before also playing for the Brass. Thomas, who hails from Olathe, Kan., spent time with the Brass while he was in college at Notre Dame and joined Sporting KC in 2012, winning the U.S. Open Cup, before being traded to Toronto FC in mid2013.

Citybased team since taking charge of OKC in late 2013, though his Energy side were Sporting KC's USL affiliate in 2014 and 2015 prior to the introduction of the Swope Park Rangers. BYE WEEK The Swope Park Rangers head into the weekend on the back of the club's first and only bye week in the 2016 USL season. The Rangers will go without weekend games in weeks six and 17, but each of those gameweeks will include a midweek game. SPR used their week off preparing for a scrimmage against the University of Tulsa on Saturday, April 16 at Swope Soccer Village a game the Rangers lost 10. The scrimmage gave head coach Marc Dos Santos the chance to rest key contributors and give minutes to players that haven't seen much USL action. In addition, seven guest Sporting KC Academy players saw time in the game. SALLOI CONTINUES TO CONTRIBUTE Sporting Kansas City loanee Daniel Salloi made his first start for the Rangers in the club's last outing against San Antonio FC on April 9, and the forward continued his excellent earlyseason form by scoring his teamleading second goal of the season just two minutes into the contest. After scoring the gamewinner with a stoppage time strike against Timbers 2 on March 26, the Budapest, Hungary native followed that up with the gamewinning assist against Tulsa on April 2. PRODUCTION FROM OVERSEAS TALENT The Swope Park Rangers have scored five goals in 2016, with all five coming from the feet of overseas players. Kevin Oliveira (Cape Verde) scored the team's firstever goal while Daniel Salloi (Hungary) is the side's leading scorer with two goals. The other two strikes have come from Dane Kelly (Jamaica) and Nansel Selbol (Nigeria). Mark Anthony Gonzalez (Canada) is the only player from North America to have contributed to a goal this season after notching an assist in the season opener, while the other two assists belong to Oliveira and Salloi.

YOUNGSTERS ON THE SCORESHEET So far in the 2016 season, 16 players under the age of 20 have scored goals in the USL. Of those 16 players, three play for the Swope Park Rangers the highest number of teenage goalscorers out of all 29 teams in the league. Kevin Oliveira (19) scored the club's firstever goal, while Daniel Salloi (19) leads the team with two strikes and Nansel Selbol (18) has also found the net for the Rangers. LA Galaxy II, New York Red Bulls II and Bethlehem Steel FC are tied for second in SPR PAY VISIT TO SPORTING KC LEGEND JIMMY NIELSEN the league with two teenage goalscorers each. The youngest Fans will recognize OKC Energy FC head coach Jimmy Nielsen, who was goalscorer this season is FC Montreal's Ballou JeanYves Tabla, who a Sporting Kansas City regular from 201013. The goalkeeper made 138 turned 17 at the end of March. The Rangers also have the highest starts for the club in MLS play, backstopping one of the most successul number of goals contributed from teenagers with four, one ahead of periods of club history winning the 2012 U.S. Open Cup and 2013 MLS Bethlehem Steel FC who have seen three goals scored by teens. Saturday's opponents OKC Energy FC are the third oldest team in the league with an average age of 26.1. The youngest 12 teams are all either owned or operated by a MLS team.

STRAIGHT OUTTA MLS While there is a significant amount of USL knowhow in the squad, two players also boast MLS experience in Tommy Meyer and Kris Tyrpak. Meyer was drafted in the first round of the 2012 MLS SuperDraft by the LA Galaxy and went on to make 57 appearances in all competitions for the club, winning MLS Cup in 2012 and 2014 along the way. Tyrpak was drafted by Chivas USA in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, tallying one goal against the Colorado Rapids and one assist against FC Dallas before the club folded at the end of that season. Two further players were also signed by MLS teams but did not make an appearance, with Oumar Ballo drafted by the Houston Dynamo in 2015 and Christian Duke spending the 2013 and 2014 seasons with Sporting KC.

USL EXPANSION SEASON The 2016 campaign is the Swope Park Rangers' USL expansion season. For the eight MLSowned USL teams that entered the league prior to the Rangers, only three qualified for the postseason in their initial attempt. LA Galaxy II made it to the semifinals in 2014 while New York Red Bulls II advanced to the Eastern Conference Semifinals and Seattle Sounders FC 2 were eliminated in the Western Conference First Round in 2015. FC Montreal, Portland Timbers 2, Real Monarchs, Toronto FC II and Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 did not qualify for the USL Playoffs in their inaugural season in 2015. In their expansion season in 2014, OKC Energy FC with a 9145 record and did not qualify for the postseason.

Oumar Ballo (Mali), Amer Didic (Bosnia & Herzegovina), Tomas Granitto (El Salvador), Dane Kelly (Jamaica), Kevin Oliveira (Cape Verde), Daniel Salloi (Hungary), Nansel Selbol (Nigeria) and Ualefi (Brazil) were all born outside of North America and through different channels found their way to the Rangers. Each USL team is permitted seven Foreign Players on their roster, though the Rangers only occupy five with Oumar Ballo, Amer Didic and Tomas Granitto qualifying as domestic players.

CANADIAN CONNECTION There is a distinct Canadian influence on this Swope Park Rangers team, with six players and staff connected to our neighbors up north. On the playing side, Amer Didic (Edmonton, Alberta), Mark Anthony Gonzalez (Bolton, Ontario), Johnny Grant (Toronto, Ontario) and Tyler Pasher (Elmira, Ontario) all hail from Canada, while head coach Marc Dos Santos was born in Montreal and began his coaching career with the Impact in 2007. In addition, goalkeeper coach Alec Dufty spent the 2015 season in the USL coaching with Toronto FC II.

POTENT STRIKEFORCE On Dec. 16, 2015 the Swope Park Rangers announced the signings of Dane Kelly and Kris Tyrpak, who combined for 20 goals in the USL regular season in 2015. Kelly is the USL's alltime leading scorer with 43 goals, 42 with the Charelston Battery, while Kris Tyrpak has scored goals in MLS, NASL, USL and USL PDL. In all competitions last season, Kelly (12) and Tyrpak (11) had 23 goals between them. OKC's Danni Konig finished second of all players in the USL for goals scored in 2015, netting 21 times to lead the club to a playoff berth.

USL EXPERIENCE Of the 22 players on the Swope Park Rangers' current roster, nine have previously played in the USL. Most notably, Dane Kelly is the USL's all time leading scorer with 43 goals since joining the league in 2011. Christian Duke spent the last two seasons with OKC Energy FC, helping the side to a playoff berth in 2015 with the aid of Jacob VanCompernolle. Tommy Meyer was minutes from claiming the 2015 USL Championship as his LA Galaxy II side fell to the Rochester Rhinos in extra time. Kris Tyrpak spent the 2015 season with the Austin Aztex, scoring nine goals for his hometown club. Jon Kempin (Orlando City SC, OKC Energy FC) spent time on loan at Sporting KC's former affiliates. Johnny Grant (FC Montreal), Zac Lubin (Tulsa Roughnecks FC) and Tyler Pasher (Pittsburgh Riverhounds) also have USL experience.

ACADEMY TIES On March 10, the Swope Park Rangers announced the signings of Ezra Armstrong, Will Little and Steven Tekesky to Academy contracts ahead of the 2016 USL season. All three players joined the Rangers directly from the Sporting KC Academy after spending a large portion of preseason with the team. Armstrong and Little both relocated to Kansas City within the last few years from Tennessee to join the Sporting KC Academy, while Tekesky is a Raymore, Mo. native. Armstrong comes from a family with pedigree, with his father, Desmond Armstrong, a National Hall of Famer. FIRST TEAM HELP Last month, the Swope Park Rangers announced that the club had added Sporting Kansas City's Jon Kempin, Jimmy Medranda and Daniel Salloi on loan. All three players contributed immediately in the

GAME NOTES CONT. season opener against Timbers 2, with Kempin and Medranda starting before Salloi appeared off the bench to notch the gamewinning goal late in the contest. Medranda was recalled to Sporting KC on March 31 and remains with the team. CAPTAIN DUKE On Wednesday, March 23, the Swope Park Rangers' firstever signing Christian Duke was named captain of the club ahead of the season opener. Duke is an Overland Park, Kan. native that came through Sporting KC's Academy before enjoying a fouryear college career at the University of San Diego. He was selected by Sporting KC in the 2013 Supplemental Draft but did not make an appearance, instead spending time on loan at OKC Energy FC before joining the club permanently in 2015.

city. Christian Duke (Overland Park, Kan.), Jon Kempin (Leawood, Kan.) and Steven Tekesky (Raymore, Mo.) were all raised in the region, while Ezra Armstrong, Will Little, Daniel Salloi and Nansel Selbol all entered the club through the Sporting KC Academy despite not being natives of the area. In addition, center back Tommy Meyer is from St. Louis, Mo. and returns to his home state after spending eight years away.

CONNECTED TO SWOPE PARK The team name, "Swope Park Rangers", is a moniker that stems from the days of the old MLS Reserve League. Sporting Kansas City's reserve side would play games at Swope Soccer Village at Swope Park, and fans who followed the side coined the name Swope Park Rangers in reference to the team. The name was never used through official club channels until October 22, 2015, when Sporting Club introduced the LOCAL PRESENCE IN THE SQUAD Swope Park Rangers as the club's new USL side. The club will play the While there are three players on the Swope Park Rangers roster who majority of it's home games at Children's Mercy Victory Field at Swope are directly from the Kansas City area, five more have connections to the Soccer Village.
