• Saturday's game marks the first time the Rangers have faced a former USL Champion so far in the club's history, with Sacramento Republic winning the ultimate prize in 2014. • While Sacramento Republic have the lowest goals against average of all three professional leagues in the U.S. with 0.38, they are also only scoring 0.75 goals per game. In contrast, the Rangers have a goals against average of 1.75, but are also scoring more frequently, with a 1.13 goals per game average. • The game is the first and only meeting between the two sides this season, and the only time the Rangers will travel to California in the regular season. Both LA Galaxy II and Orange County Blues FC visit Swope Soccer Village once in 2016.

PLAYER NOTES VS. SAC

• Rangers forward Kris Tyrpak leads the team with one goal against Sacramento Republic, which was the gamewinner in a 10 road victory for the Austin Aztex on June 6, 2015. • Jon Kempin has yet to concede a goal in two appearances against Sac Republic, claiming two 20 victories while on loan at OKC Energy FC in 2014. • Christian Duke is 120 in three appearances for OKC Energy FC against Sac Republic, with the sole victory coming on June 15, 2014. • Jacob VanCompernolle is 110 against Sac Republic as a member of OKC Energy FC in 2015. • Zac Lubin faced Sac Republic once in 2015 while with Tulsa SPR SAC INDIVIDUAL LEADERS Roughnecks FC, falling 31 at home on June 26. • Christian Duke and Jacob VanCompernolle were teammates of Salloi (3) Thompson (2) Goals Salloi (3) Kiffe, Stewart (1) Sac Republic's Evan Newton at OKC Energy FC in 2015. GAME NOTES FIRST TIME IN CALIFORNIA Saturday's game will be the Swope Park Rangers' first and only trip to California this season, with the club facing each Golden State side once in 2016. After facing Sacramento Republic this weekend, the Rangers will host the other two California teams (LA Galaxy II & Orange County Blues FC) at Swope Soccer Village. The trip is also SPR's first visit to the west coast, with further trips to Vancouver (June 12) and Seattle (June 26) also scheduled next month. The Rangers head into the contest with a 131 record on the road, while Sac Republic are 220 at home so far this season.

SALLOI LEADS FROM THE FRONT Swope Park Rangers forward Daniel Salloi leads the team in goals (3) and assists (3), making him one of just nine players in the USL to have contributed to six or more goals in 2016. The Hungarian is averaging a goal or assist every 51 minutes this season, which is the best average of all players in the USL that have contributed to six or more goals, with Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2's Kyle Greig (8G, 1A) the closest challenger with a goal or assist every 65 minutes. Salloi, 19, is also the youngest player, only teenager and only MLS Homegrown player to have contributed to six or more goals this season.

AGAINST THE FORMER CHAMPS The Swope Park Rangers' game against Sacramento Republic FC marks the first time the club has faced a former USL Champion in 2016 while Sac Republic is also the only former champion the Rangers will take on in the regular season. In the sixyear history of the USL, there have been four champions. Twotime winners Orlando City SC (2011, 2013) have since become an MLS expansion franchise, while the other two winners the Charleston Battery (2012) and the Rochester Rhinos (2015) both reside in the Eastern Conference, and the Rangers will only face Western Conference sides in the 2016 regular season. Sac Republic boasts the best defensive record of any professional team in the U.S. Soccer pyramid, having conceded just three goals in eight games, with goalkeeper Dominik Jakubek posting a 0.38 goals against average.

TWO IRONMEN REMAIN Swope Park Rangers head coach Marc Dos Santos named an unchanged lineup for the first time in 2016 last Saturday against RGV, meaning that captain Christian Duke and fellow defender Tommy Meyer remain the only two players on the Rangers roster to have played every minute of the USL season so far. Duke and Meyer have played all 720 minutes for SPR, while Jimmy Mulligan, Kevin Oliveira and Ualefi have also started all eight games for the club.

MLS HOMEGROWN STRIKERS SQUARE OFF Each of the Swope Park Rangers' and Sacramento Republic's leading scorers this season are forwards that are on loan from MLS clubs. SPR's Daniel Salloi has three goals on the season while on loan from Sporting KC, while Sac Republic's Tommy Thompson leads his side with two strikes after being added on loan from the San Jose Earthquakes. In addition to both leading scorers being MLS players, they are also Homegrown players that have been brought through each club's respective Academy. HISTORY OF SUCCESS FOR TYRPAK Last weekend vs. RGV, Swope Park Rangers forward Kris Tyrpak recorded his first assist of the season to add to his one goal that he notched on April 27 against Whitecaps FC 2. The Dripping Springs, Texas native has enjoyed success in the past against Sacramento Republic FC, scoring the gamewinner in a 10 victory at Bonney Field on June 6, 2015 while he was a member of the Austin Aztex. Tyrpak had nine goals for the Aztex in 2015, before scoring twice for the San Antonio Scorpions after spending the latter stages of the season on loan at the former NASL club.

YOUNGSTERS ON THE SCORESHEET So far in the 2016 season, 19 players under the age of 20 have scored goals in the USL. Of those 19 players, three play for the Swope Park Rangers the highest number of teenage goalscorers out of all 29 teams in the league. Kevin Oliveira (19) scored the club's firstever goal, while Daniel Salloi (19) leads the team with three strikes and Nansel Selbol (18) has also found the net. LA Galaxy II, New York Red Bulls II, Bethlehem Steel FC, FC Montreal, Portland Timbers 2 and Seattle Sounders FC 2 are tied for second in the league with two teenage goalscorers each. The youngest goalscorer this season is Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2's 15yearold winger Alphonso Davies .

YOUTHFUL SQUAD The average age of the Swope Park Rangers squad is 22.2, which is the sixth lowest in the 29team league. The roster includes seven teenagers in Jaylin Lindsey (16), Ezra Armstrong (17), Will Little (18), Nansel Selbol (18), Steven Tekesky (18), Kevin Oliveira (19) and Daniel Salloi (19), while the oldest players on the squad are Zac Lubin and Tommy Meyer, both 26. The leaguewide average age is 24.2, with FC Montreal boasting the youngest team with a mean of 21.3 while the Colorado Springs Switchbacks are the oldest with an average age of 26.7. Saturday's opponents Sacramento Republic FC are tied for the twelfth oldest in the league with an average age of 25.1. The youngest 12 teams are all either owned or operated by a MLS team.

GAME NOTES CONT. USL EXPANSION SEASON The 2016 campaign is the Swope Park Rangers' USL expansion season. For the eight MLSowned USL teams that entered the league prior to the Rangers, only three qualified for the postseason in their initial campaign. LA Galaxy II made it to the semifinals in 2014 while New York Red Bulls II advanced to the Eastern Conference Semifinals and Seattle Sounders FC 2 were eliminated in the Western Conference First Round in 2015. FC Montreal, Portland Timbers 2, Real Monarchs, Toronto FC II and Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 did not qualify for the USL Playoffs in their inaugural season in 2015. USL EXPERIENCE Of the 24 players on the Swope Park Rangers' current roster, nine have previously played in the USL. Most notably, Dane Kelly is the USL's all time leading scorer with 43 goals since joining the league in 2011. Christian Duke spent the last two seasons with OKC Energy FC, helping the side to a playoff berth in 2015 with the aid of Jacob VanCompernolle. Tommy Meyer was minutes from claiming the 2015 USL Championship as his LA Galaxy II side fell to the Rochester Rhinos in extra time. Kris Tyrpak spent the 2015 season with the Austin Aztex, scoring nine goals for his hometown club. Jon Kempin (Orlando City SC, OKC Energy FC) spent time on loan at Sporting KC's former affiliates. Johnny Grant (FC Montreal), Zac Lubin (Tulsa Roughnecks FC) and Tyler Pasher (Pittsburgh Riverhounds) also have USL experience. STRAIGHT OUTTA MLS While there is a significant amount of USL knowhow in the squad, two players also boast MLS experience Tommy Meyer and Kris Tyrpak. Meyer was drafted in the first round of the 2012 MLS SuperDraft by the LA Galaxy and went on to make 57 appearances in all competitions for the club, winning MLS Cup in 2012 and 2014. Tyrpak was drafted by Chivas USA in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, tallying one goal against the Colorado Rapids and one assist against FC Dallas before the club folded at the end of that season. Two further players were also signed by MLS teams but did not make an appearance: Oumar Ballo was drafted by the Houston Dynamo in 2015 and Christian Duke spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons with Sporting KC. INTERNATIONAL FLAVOR There are nine members of the Swope Park Rangers that were born outside of the U.S. and Canada. Ayrton (Brazil), Oumar Ballo (Mali), Amer Didic (Bosnia & Herzegovina), Tomas Granitto (El Salvador), Dane Kelly (Jamaica), Kevin Oliveira (Cape Verde), Daniel Salloi (Hungary), Nansel Selbol (Nigeria) and Ualefi (Brazil) were all born outside of North America. Each USL team is permitted seven Foreign Players on their roster, and the Rangers occupy six with Oumar Ballo, Amer Didic and Tomas Granitto qualifying as domestic players.

POTENT STRIKEFORCE On Dec. 16, 2015 the Swope Park Rangers announced the signings of Dane Kelly and Kris Tyrpak, who combined for 20 goals in the USL regular season in 2015. Kelly is the USL's alltime leading scorer with 43 goals, 42 with the Charelston Battery, while Kris Tyrpak has scored goals in MLS, NASL, USL and USL PDL. In all competitions last season, Kelly (12) and Tyrpak (11) had 23 goals between them, while they have one goal each so far in 2016. So far this season, Sacramento Republic FC is led by San Jose Earthquakes loanee Tommy Thompson with two goals, while last season the club's top scorer was Rodrigo Lopez with 10 strikes. ACADEMY TIES On March 10, the Swope Park Rangers announced the signings of Ezra Armstrong, Will Little and Steven Tekesky to Academy contracts ahead of the 2016 USL season. All three players joined the Rangers directly from the Sporting KC Academy after spending a large portion of preseason with the team. Armstrong and Little both relocated to Kansas City within the last few years from Tennessee to join the Sporting KC Academy, while Tekesky is from Raymore, Mo. Armstrong comes from a family with pedigree, with his father, Desmond Armstrong, a National Hall of Famer. Most recently, Jaylin Lindsey was signed to an academy contract on May 6, making his debut the following day against Saint Louis FC, becoming the first American born in the 2000s to make his professional debut. FIRST TEAM HELP In late March, the Swope Park Rangers announced that the club had added Sporting Kansas City's Jon Kempin, Jimmy Medranda and Daniel Salloi on loan. All three players contributed immediately in the season opener against Timbers 2, with Kempin and Medranda starting, while Salloi appeared off the bench to notch the gamewinning goal late in the contest. Medranda was recalled to Sporting KC on March 31 and remains with the team, while Jordi Quintilla was loaned to the Rangers ahead of their game against Whitecaps FC 2 on April 27, playing 89 minutes in that matchup before being recalled by Sporting KC this week. CAPTAIN DUKE On Wednesday, March 23, the Swope Park Rangers' firstever signing Christian Duke was named captain of the club ahead of the season opener. Duke is an Overland Park, Kan. native that came through Sporting KC's Academy before enjoying a fouryear college career at the University of San Diego. He was selected by Sporting KC in the 2013 Supplemental Draft but did not make an appearance, instead spending time on loan at OKC Energy FC before joining the club permanently in 2015. So far this season, Duke has played every minute at left back.

GAME NOTES CONT. LOCAL PRESENCE IN THE SQUAD While there are three players on the Swope Park Rangers roster who are directly from the Kansas City area, six more have connections to the city. Christian Duke (Overland Park, Kan.), Jon Kempin (Leawood, Kan.) and Steven Tekesky (Raymore, Mo.) were all raised in the region, while Ezra Armstrong, Jaylin Lindsey, Will Little, Daniel Salloi and Nansel Selbol all entered the club through the Sporting KC Academy, despite not being natives of the area. In addition, center back Tommy Meyer is from St. Louis, Mo. and returns to his home state after spending eight years away.

CONNECTED TO SWOPE PARK The team name, "Swope Park Rangers", is a moniker that stems from the days of the old MLS Reserve League. Sporting Kansas City's reserve side would play games at Swope Soccer Village at Swope Park and fans who followed the side coined the name Swope Park Rangers in reference to the team. The name was never used through official club channels until October 22, 2015, when Sporting Club introduced the Swope Park Rangers as the organization's new USL side. The club will play the majority of its home games at Children's Mercy Victory Field at Swope Soccer Village.
