Sporting Kansas City's reserve side would play games at Swope Soccer Village at Swope Park and fans who followed the side coined the name Swope Park Rangers in reference to the team. The name was never used through official club channels until October 22, 2015, when Sporting Club introduced the Swope Park Rangers as the organization's new USL side. The club will play the majority of its home games at Children's Mercy Victory Field at Swope Soccer Village.
