GAME NOTES LOOKING TO IMPROVE ON TRAVELS The Swope Park Rangers enter the weekend with a 152 away record, having not claimed all three points on the road since their firstever road game on April 2 a 21 victory over Tulsa Roughnecks FC. The Rangers drew their next away game in San Antonio on April 9 and have since gone 051 on the road and fell 32 to Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 in their last outing on June 12. Seattle Sounders FC 2 are 131 on the road this season, having played three less road games than SPR, and are 253 at home. BACK TO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST Having already traveled to the Pacific Northwest once in June, the Swope Park Rangers are returning to familiar territory. On June 4, the Rangers fell 21 at Portland Timbers 2 in a game that was played in Meridian, Idaho, before SPR also suffered defeat at Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on June 12. Sunday's game marks the final time the Rangers will travel to the Pacific Northwest this season, while SPR has posted a 130 record against teams from the region. The Rangers will face Seattle Sounders FC 2 once more this season at Swope Soccer Village in the side's final game of 2016 on Sept. 24. DIA ADDED ON LOAN On Saturday, the Swope Park Rangers announced that the club had added defender Amadou Dia on loan from Sporting Kansas City. Dia has made 10 appearances for Sporting KC so far this season after playing in 22 games as a rookie in 2015, recording one assist. Dia becomes the sixth Sporting KC player to be loaned to the Rangers at some point this season, joining Alec Kann, Jon Kempin, Jimmy Medranda, Jordi Quintilla and Daniel Salloi. FIRST START SINCE APRIL FOR KELLY Last Saturday, Swope Park Rangers forward Dane Kelly made his first start since April 2 after recovering from a hamstring injury. Kelly started the season by earning a penalty in the Rangers' inaugural game a 21 win over Portland Timbers 2 and scoring his first goal the following weekend against Tulsa Roughnecks FC on April 2, before the hamstring injury forced him out of that game and saw him miss the subsequent nine games. Kelly came off the bench in the 32 loss to Whitecaps FC 2 on June 12 and played the full 90 minutes against the Energy on June 18. Through the club's first eight games, Meyer was joined by captain Christian Duke in playing every minute, but Duke was subbed off in the 11 draw at Sac Republic on May 28. GAME NOTES CONT. LOCAL PRESENCE IN THE SQUAD While there are three players on the Swope Park Rangers roster who are directly from the Kansas City area, five more have connections to the city. Christian Duke (Overland Park, Kan.), Jon Kempin (Leawood, Kan.) and Steven Tekesky (Raymore, Mo.) were all raised in the region, while Ezra Armstrong, Jaylin Lindsey, Will Little and Nansel Selbol all entered the club through the Sporting KC Academy, despite not being natives of the area. In addition, center back Tommy Meyer is from St. Louis, Mo. and returns to his home state after spending eight years away.

CONNECTED TO SWOPE PARK The team name, "Swope Park Rangers", is a moniker that stems from the days of the old MLS Reserve League. Sporting Kansas City's reserve side would play games at Swope Soccer Village at Swope Park and fans who followed the side coined the name Swope Park Rangers in reference to the team. The name was never used through official club channels until October 22, 2015, when Sporting Club introduced the Swope Park Rangers as the organization's new USL side. The club will play the majority of its home games at Children's Mercy Victory Field at Swope Soccer Village.

A former MLS player, Dufty began his career with the New York Red Bulls in 2009 before joining the MLS reserve goalkeeper pool. In 2010, Dufty joined USSF D2 Pro League side AC St. Louis, before returning to MLS with the Chicago Fire later that same year. He announced his retirement and focused on coaching at the conclusion of the 2011 season.

JOSH MCALLISTER Fitness Coach Josh McAllister joined the Sporting KC organization in early 2015 as the Academy fitness coach, and has now transitioned into a new role with the Swope Park Rangers. While with the Academy, McAllister assisted Mateus Manoel with the first team, but his primary focus was developing fitness regimens and strength programs for each Academy age group. A Marshalltown, Iowa native, McAllister graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2008 and coached with Heartland Soccer Club, West Des Moines Soccer Club and Sporting Iowa before completing a yearlong internship with MLS side the Portland Timbers in 2014. Immediately prior to joining Sporting KC, McAllister enjoyed a successful spell as an assistant coach for the Drake University Men's Soccer Team.
