Sporting KC also topped RSL to claim the 2013 MLS Cup.

GAME NOTES STAYING ON THE ROAD After playing to a 11 draw with Saint Louis FC at WWT Soccer Park last Wednesday, the Swope Park Rangers remain on the road this weekend for a matchup with Real Monarchs SLC on Saturday night. The Rangers are 255 on the road this season, including 103 in their last four away contests. The last time the Rangers fell on the road was in a 32 loss at Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on June 12. The Monarchs are 253 at home this season, having last claimed all three points in a home contest on May 21 against Orange County Blues FC. UNBEATEN IN FOUR Last Wednesday's 11 draw with Saint Louis FC pushed the Swope Park Rangers' unbeaten streak to four games, having gone 202 since their last defeat to OKC on July 12. The streak is the longest in the club's short history, having gone three unbeaten to start the season and from June 26 through July 9. In addition, SPR have lost just one of their last eight games (413) a feat only matched in the Western Conference by OKC Energy FC (314). In their last eight games, the Monarchs have posted a 251 record. TULSA GAME RESCHEDULED Last Saturday, the Swope Park Rangers matchup with Tulsa Roughnecks FC was postponed after heavy rain in the Tulsa area caused unsafe field conditions. On Wednesday, the Rangers and the Roughnecks announced that the rescheduled match will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 21 in the final week of the season. The game now becomes SPR's penultimate game of the regular season, closing out on Sept. 24 against Seattle Sounders FC 2. RANGERS LOANLESS For the first time this season, the Swope Park Rangers are heading into a USL matchup without any players on loan from Sporting Kansas City. Following Wednesday's 11 draw with Saint Louis FC, Ever Alvarado, Emmanuel Appiah, Jon Kempin and Diego Rubio were all recalled by Sporting KC, leaving SPR without any players on loan from their parent club. The last time the Rangers failed to field a player on loan from Sporting KC in a game this season was on June 18 a 31 loss to OKC Energy FC. RUBIO STRAIGHT ONTO THE SCORESHEET After joining on loan from Sporting Kansas City earlier in the day, forward Diego Rubio made an immediate impact for the Swope Park Rangers against Saint Louis FC on Wednesday. In the 34th minute, the Chilean raced onto a ball from fellow loanee Emmanuel Appiah and charged down goalkeeper Mark Pais' clearance before tapping home. Rubio is the first SPR player to score on his debut for the club since Kevin Oliveira and Daniel Salloi scored in the Rangers' inaugural game on March 26.

OLIVEIRA #2 IN USL 20UNDER20 LIST On Thursday, the USL announced that Swope Park Rangers midfielder Kevin Oliveira was ranked No. 2 in the 20Under20 list highlighting the league's best young talent. The list was comprised through input from coaches around the USL and insight from TopDrawerSoccer.com. Oliveira made 13 appearances for the Rangers this season adding three goals and a teambest four assists before seeing his season cut short due to an ACL tear in his left knee in late June. Seattle Sounders FC 2 winger Victor Mansaray was named No. 1 in the 20Under20 list on Friday. RANGERS (ALMOST) ALWAYS SCORE The Swope Park Rangers have been shutout just three times in the 2016 season, having scored at least one goal in 18 of the club's 21 games. No other team has been shutout less than the Rangers in the USL Western Conference. Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC and LA Galaxy II are the only other side to have been shutout three times this season, with all 12 other teams in the Western Conference being shutout four or more times this season. Saint Louis FC have been shutout eight times this season. OLIVEIRA'S SEASON FINISHED In July, the Swope Park Rangers announced that midfielder Kevin Oliveira suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in training last week and will miss the remainder of the 2016 USL season. Oliveira made 13 appearances this season, adding three goals and four assists. The 20 yearold joined SPR in February from Benfica B in Portugal after coming through their Academy, while he also has experience with the Cape Verde National Team. The name was never used through LOCAL PRESENCE IN THE SQUAD While there are two players on the Swope Park Rangers roster who are official club channels until October 22, 2015, when Sporting Club introduced the Swope Park Rangers as the organization's new USL directly from the Kansas City area, four more have connections to the side. TECHNICAL STAFF MARC DOS SANTOS Head Coach Marc Dos Santos is entering his 10th year of coaching in 2016, having most recently taken Ottawa Fury FC to the 2015 NASL Soccer Bowl, culminating in being named 2015 NASL Coach of the Year. Dos Santos began his career with the Montreal Impact's reserve team, TroisRivieres Attak FC of the Canadian Soccer League in 2007. After several titles, Dos Santos became the Impact head coach in 2009 and led Montreal to CONCACAF Champions League qualification and a USL First Division title before transitioning to USSF Division 2 in 2010 and the NASL the following year. In 2012, Dos Santos moved to Brazil to focus on youth development with FC Primeira Camisa U20s and SE Palmeiras U15s, winning a Copa do Brasil U15 championship with the latter. Dos Santos returned to Canada in 2013 to take charge of the Ottawa Fury ahead of their NASL expansion season.

NIKOLA POPOVIC Assistant Coach Nikola Popovic has extensive experience coaching in Europe, having most recently been an assistant coach at Benfica B. A dual citizen of Portugal and Serbia who was born in Belgrade, Popovic has coached in Portugal with CD Olivais e Moscavide (200507), Varzim SC (200710), Sertanese FC (201314) and Benfica B (201516). He also coached in Bulgaria with FC Vihren Sandanski (2007) and Chernomorets Burgas (201011). Popovic made further stops with the Cape Verde National Team (2010), Spanish side AD Ceuta (2010) and Qatari sides Al Dahfra (201112) and Aspire Academy (2014). While with the club, the TFC II goalkeeping corps finished third in the USL with 125 saves and starting goalkeeper Quillan Roberts placed second in the league in save percentage (.766) and third in saves per game (4.80). Dufty had previously coached collegiately at Florida Gulf Coast University and the University of Illinois at Chicago. A former MLS player, Dufty began his career with the New York Red Bulls in 2009 before joining the MLS reserve goalkeeper pool. In 2010, Dufty joined USSF D2 Pro League side AC St. Louis, before returning to MLS with the Chicago Fire later that same year. He announced his retirement and focused on coaching at the conclusion of the 2011 season.

JOSH MCALLISTER Fitness Coach Josh McAllister joined the Sporting KC organization in early 2015 as the Academy fitness coach, and has now transitioned into a new role with the Swope Park Rangers. While with the Academy, McAllister assisted Mateus Manoel with the first team, but his primary focus was developing fitness regimens and strength programs for each Academy age group. A Marshalltown, Iowa native, McAllister graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2008 and coached with Heartland Soccer Club, West Des Moines Soccer Club and Sporting Iowa before completing a yearlong internship with MLS side the Portland Timbers in 2014. Immediately prior to joining Sporting KC, McAllister enjoyed a successful spell as an assistant coach for the Drake University Men's Soccer Team.
