GAME NOTES HEADING CROSSSTATE For the second time this season, the Swope Park Rangers are heading across the state of Missouri to take on rivals Saint Louis FC. In their first meeting at World Wide Technology Soccer Park, STL got the better of the Rangers in a 30 win. Most recently, SPR got their revenge with a 10 victory at Swope Soccer Village on July 2, leaving the season series perfectly poised heading into Wednesday's matchup. The two sides will play their fourth and final game of the regular season at Children's Mercy Park on Aug. 21. DOUBLE ROAD TRIP Immediately following their first backtoback home games of the season, the Swope Park Rangers will play their next three games away from home including two this week against regional rivals. Following Wednesday's game against Saint Louis FC, SPR will head to Tulsa to face the Roughnecks at ONEOK Field. The weekend after, the Rangers will head to Utah to face Real Monarchs SLC at Rio Tinto Stadium. After this three game road swing, the Rangers will play six of their final seven games at home, including five in a row starting against Saint Louis FC on Aug. 21. COMEBACK WIN For the first time in the club's short history, the Swope Park Rangers claimed a comefrombehind victory in Saturday's 21 win over San Antonio FC. Before the start of July, the Rangers were 050 when conceding the first goal, and had not secured any points from losing positions. However, the tide began to turn in July, with SPR going 112 when conceding the first goal claiming five of their 11 points from losing positions. KELLY ON THE SCORESHEET Swope Park Rangers forward Dane Kelly has scored in backtoback games for the first time this season after notching the gamewinner against Orange County Blues FC on July 23 and coming off the bench to score against San Antonio FC on July 30. Kelly is the USL's alltime leading scorer and added his 45th career USL goal on Saturday. The 25 yearold scored his first goal for the club against Tulsa Roughnecks FC on April 2 before suffering a hamstring injury later in that same game which kept him sidelined for nine games, before returning on June 12 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2. DIDIC & GONZALEZ HONORED On Tuesday, the USL announced that Swope Park Rangers defender Amer Didic had been selected on the Team of the Week for Week 19, while forward Mark Anthony Gonzalez was included on the bench. Didic was a defensive stalwart in Saturday's 21 win over San Antonio FC at Swope Soccer Village, limiting the visitors to seasonlows in shots (2) and shots on goal (1). Didic, 21, has now earned Team of the Week honors

three times this season. Gonzalez notched the gamewinner in the 84th minute with his teamleading seventh goal of the season, while he was also included in the Team of the Week for Week 12 after scoring twice against RGV on June 8. SUPERSUB AYRTON Swope Park Rangers midfielder Ayrton came off the bench in Saturday's 21 win over San Antonio FC to notch his third assist in his last two games. After assisting on SPR's second and third goals in the 30 win over Orange County on July 23, Ayrton set up Dane Kelly's headed goal on Saturday to make the score 11. This season, the Rangers are 501 when Ayrton comes off the bench. RANGERS (ALMOST) ALWAYS SCORE The Swope Park Rangers have been shutout just three times in the 2016 season, having scored at least one goal in 17 of the club's 20 games. No other team has been shutout less than the Rangers in the USL Western Conference. Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC and LA Galaxy II are the only other side to have been shutout three times this season, with all 12 other teams in the Western Conference being shutout four or more times this season. Saint Louis FC have been shutout eight times this season. OLIVEIRA'S SEASON FINISHED In July, the Swope Park Rangers announced that midfielder Kevin Oliveira suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in training last week and will miss the remainder of the 2016 USL season. Oliveira made 13 appearances this season, adding three goals and four assists. The 20 yearold joined SPR in February from Benfica B in Portugal after coming through their Academy, while he also has experience with the Cape Verde National Team. YOUTHFUL SQUAD The average age of the Swope Park Rangers squad is 22.4, which is tied for the fifth lowest in the 29team league. The roster includes five teenagers in Jaylin Lindsey (16), Ezra Armstrong (17), Will Little (18), Steven Tekesky (18) and Nansel Selbol (19), while the oldest player on the squad are Zac Lubin and Tommy Meyer, both 26. The leaguewide average age is 24.3, with FC Montreal boasting the youngest team with a mean of 21.1 while Orange County Blues FC are the oldest with an average age of 26.8. Wednesday's opponents Saint Louis FC are fifth oldest with an average of 25.9. USL EXPANSION SEASON The 2016 campaign is the Swope Park Rangers' USL expansion season. For the eight MLSowned USL teams that entered the league prior to the Rangers, only three qualified for the postseason in their

GAME NOTES CONT. initial campaign. LA Galaxy II made it to the semifinals in 2014 while New York Red Bulls II advanced to the Eastern Conference Semifinals and Seattle Sounders FC 2 were eliminated in the Western Conference First Round in 2015. FC Montreal, Portland Timbers 2, Real Monarchs, Toronto FC II and Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 did not qualify for the USL Playoffs in their inaugural season in 2015.

in MLS, NASL, USL and USL PDL. In all competitions last season, Kelly (12) and Tyrpak (11) had 23 goals between them, while Kelly has three and Tyrpak has four so far in 2016. Saint Louis FC are paced by Irvin Herrera who has 10 goals on the season.

STRAIGHT OUTTA MLS While there is a significant amount of USL knowhow in the squad, two players also boast MLS experience Tommy Meyer and Kris Tyrpak. Meyer was drafted in the first round of the 2012 MLS SuperDraft by the LA Galaxy and went on to make 57 appearances in all competitions for the club, winning MLS Cup in 2012 and 2014. Tyrpak was drafted by Chivas USA in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, tallying one goal against the Colorado Rapids and one assist against FC Dallas before the club folded at the end of that season. Two further players were also signed by MLS teams but did not make an appearance: Oumar Ballo was drafted by the Houston Dynamo in 2015 and Christian Duke spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons with Sporting KC.

CAPTAIN DUKE On Wednesday, March 23, the Swope Park Rangers' firstever signing Christian Duke was named captain of the club ahead of the season opener. Duke is an Overland Park, Kan. native that came through Sporting KC's Academy before enjoying a fouryear college career at the University of San Diego. He was selected by Sporting KC in the

GAME NOTES CONT. 2013 Supplemental Draft but did not make an appearance, instead spending time on loan at OKC Energy FC before joining the club permanently in 2015. So far this season, Duke has started all 20 games for SPR. LOCAL PRESENCE IN THE SQUAD While there are three players on the Swope Park Rangers roster who are directly from the Kansas City area, four more have connections to the city. Christian Duke (Overland Park, Kan.), Jon Kempin (Leawood, Kan.) and Steven Tekesky (Raymore, Mo.) were all raised in the region, while Ezra Armstrong, Jaylin Lindsey, Will Little and Nansel Selbol all entered the club through the Sporting KC Academy, despite not being natives of the area. In addition, center back Tommy Meyer is from St. Louis, Mo. and returns to his home state after spending eight years away.

CONNECTED TO SWOPE PARK The team name, "Swope Park Rangers", is a moniker that stems from the days of the old MLS Reserve League. Sporting Kansas City's reserve side would play games at Swope Soccer Village at Swope Park and fans who followed the side coined the name Swope Park Rangers in reference to the team. The name was never used through official club channels until October 22, 2015, when Sporting Club introduced the Swope Park Rangers as the organization's new USL side. The club will play the majority of its home games at Children's Mercy Victory Field at Swope Soccer Village.

Dos Santos began his career with the Montreal Impact's reserve team, TroisRivieres Attak FC of the Canadian Soccer League in 2007. After several titles, Dos Santos became the Impact head coach in 2009 and led Montreal to CONCACAF Champions League qualification and a USL First Division title before transitioning to USSF Division 2 in 2010 and the NASL the following year. In 2012, Dos Santos moved to Brazil to focus on youth development with FC Primeira Camisa U20s and SE Palmeiras U15s, winning a Copa do Brasil U15 championship with the latter.
