So far this season, Duke has started all 24 games for SPR, leads the team in minutes (2,127) and scored his first goal in over three years against LA Galaxy II on Aug. 27. LOCAL PRESENCE IN THE SQUAD While there are three players on the Swope Park Rangers roster who are directly from the Kansas City area, seven more have connections to the city. Christian Duke (Overland Park, Kan.), Steven Tekesky (Raymore, Mo.) and Patrick Wilkinson (Overland Park, Kan.) were all raised in the region, while Christian Albelo, Ezra Armstrong, Felipe Hernandez, Jaylin Lindsey, Will Little, Nansel Selbol and Wan Kuzain Wan Kamal all entered the club through the Sporting KC Academy, despite not being natives of the area. In addition, center back Tommy Meyer is from St. Louis, Mo. and returns to his home state after spending eight years away.

CONNECTED TO SWOPE PARK The team name, "Swope Park Rangers", is a moniker that stems from the days of the old MLS Reserve League. Sporting Kansas City's reserve side would play games at Swope Soccer Village at Swope Park and fans who followed the side coined the name Swope Park Rangers in reference to the team. The name was never used through official club channels until October 22, 2015, when Sporting Club introduced the Swope Park Rangers as the organization's new USL side. The club will play the majority of its home games at Children's Mercy Victory Field at Swope Soccer Village.
