MATCH PREVIEW The Swope Park Rangers (3-1-1, 10 points) and Phoenix Rising FC (3-1-1, 10 points) will meet on Saturday, April 21 with identical records through five matches in the 2018 USL season. SPR is 0-1-3 all-time against Rising FC, however prevailed in penalties over Phoenix in last year’s Western Conference Quarterfinal - one of the most memorable matches in either team’s history. The match -- which began at 7:30 p.m. CT on Sat., Oct. 21, was postponed at 11 p.m. CT that night after a 150-minute weather delay during halftime and ended at 4:45 p.m. CT on Sun., Oct. 22 -- was scoreless through regulation but featured two goals in extra time, first from Didier Drogba in the 99th minute before an Amer Didic equalizer for the Rangers in the 109th minute. In the ensuing shootout, Darrin MacLeod saved the first Phoenix penalty and SPR was clinical from the spot, going four for four en route to winning last year’s Western Conference Championship.
