MATCH PREVIEW The Swope Park Rangers (14-11-8, 8th place) face LA Galaxy II (10-16-7, 13th place) for their final home game of the regular season on Sunday, October 14 at Children’s Mercy Park. This will be the Rangers second time facing Galaxy II, with their last match ending in a 1-1 draw at StubHub Center on August 1. The Galaxy have been officially eliminated from postseason contention. The Swope Park Rangers, the back-to-back USL Western Conference champions, are in pursuit of a third straight playoff berth in 2018. Entering the final weekend of the season, Portland Timbers 2 (52 pts), Saint Louis FC (52 pts), Swope Park Rangers (50 pts) and San Antonio FC (49 pts) are all sitting mere points from each other. While the Rangers can secure a postseason berth with a San Antonio FC loss on Saturday night, SPR will be assured of a playoff spot with a win on Sunday regardless of other results and could climb as high as sixth in the Western Conference standings.
