MATCH PREVIEW The Swope Park Rangers (7-4-4, 5th place) will welcome USL expansion side Las Vegas Lights FC (4-5-4, 12th place) to Kansas City for the first time at 4 p.m. CT on Sunday at Children’s Mercy Park. The Lights earned a 2-1 victory at Cashman Field on March 31 in the debut meeting. SPR opened the scoring and led for 35 minutes before Carlos Alvarez sparked the Las Vegas rally with his equalizer in the 53rd minute. The Rangers enter Sunday’s showdown with a 14game home unbeaten streak that dates back to last August. Meanwhile, Las Vegas won their inaugural match on the road - a 3-2 victory at Fresno FC on March 17 - but are winless in four away matches since, including three straight road losses (1-0 L at COS, 7-2 L at LA, 4-0 L at PHX). Both teams are coming off 4-1 results, as Las Vegas won 4-1 over Seattle Sounders FC 2 while the Rangers fell 4-1 at Fresno FC last weekend.
