The Swope Park Rangers (1-0-0) will take on Seattle Sounders FC 2 (1-0-0) in their first match at their new home, Shawnee Mission South District Stadium in Overland Park, Kansas at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 24. Paulo Nagamura earned his first win as head coach last Saturday at Reno 1868 FC as SPR earned a 4-3 win with two goals and two assists from Kharlton Belmar. SPR returns six players from last year’s squad (Dakota Barnathan, Felipe Hernandez, Will Little, Darrin MacLeod, Parker Maher and Wan Kuzain Wan Kamal) while adding nine newcomers to the roster. In addition, the Rangers will utilize top performers from the Sporting KC Academy and players on loan from Sporting Kansas City (MLS). The Western Conference Champions swept the Sounders last season. They earned a 2-0 win on July 20th and a 2-1 victory on October 11th. S2 are also coming off an opening week win after prevailing 2-1 against rivals Portland Timbers 2.
