MATCH PREVIEW

The Swope Park Rangers (6-3-4, 22 points) face off against Real Monarchs SLC (10-2-1, 31 points) at Children’s Mercy Park on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. CT. The Rangers return home after a 1-0 win at Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. The last time the Rangers faced Real Monarchs was for another Wednesday match-up on May 9 at Zions Bank Stadium in a 4-1 loss. In the 4-1 loss, Kharlton Belmar had the only goal for SPR, logging his league-leading eighth goal of the season. Belmar’s goal game early in the match in the eighth minute, but the Monarchs would score four more goals before the evening was done. The Monarchs have lost two games this season, one to Portland Timbers FC 2 and the other to the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Their only draw was with Las Vegas Lights FC on April 30. The two losses did come on the road and SPR does boast an undefeated record at home this season.
