I know this catalog has been pretty “liberal” and “a good time” up until this point, so I don’t want to get too serious about this snowboard, but you know what… I’m saying it. l just don’t think it’s right for a snowboard to be two things! Boards are created as a powder board or as boards that will perform on hardpack, and you can’t go switching back and forth like some… some… some sort of… board-feel switching SplitTailer! It ain’t American! You can’t just “surf through the deep stuff” all morning and then “rip fat carves down the groomers” all afternoon. It ain’t natural! You buy a board for ONE purpose and when you get that strange, undeniable urge to “change boards” you go into the lodge, you borrow a man’s tool, and you mount your second choice. It‘s not always pretty, but that is how it’s done. I propose we station good, hard-charging snowboarders to every mountain resort and we aim to expose these dirty SplitTailers for what they are. Rant over. Now, if you’ll excuse me, there’s a long, perfect pipe at my local resort just BEGGING to be ridden hard.
The Helix has been replicated with a few mutations from last years model to give you the maximum in all-mountain freestyle performance. The Helix features RIDE’s Twin Camber shape and a slightly softer flex than last year’s model, but the asymmetric sidecut is what truly sets the Helix apart. The radius of the sidecut on your heelside edge is deeper than the radius on your toeside edge, giving you more leverage over your heelside turns. This anatomically correct board shape allows you to power through turns easier on your heelside edge. The Helix is a go anywhere, do anything freestyle deck and a favorite of team rider, cloning test subject and slopestyle contest dominator Yuki Kadono. Tanner (or Schubert) was right about a few things. One: Riding down the mountain bare-assed can be liberating. Two: Don’t go changin’! That doesn’t just apply to your favorite mountain. It also applies to the Machete. Why change something that has proven year after year to be an all-mountain freestyle deck with something for every rider? The Machete’s twin shape features rocker to lift the tip and tail out of the snow for floatation as well as easy turn initiation and a catch-free feel at the contact points. The board profile gently transitions into a flat zone underfoot for stability and consistent tracking when you are cruising groomers. Strength is added and vibration is absorbed by our proprietary Slimewall® technology, while Carbon Slimerods® add that pop and rebound you are looking for when you’re lapping the park. The Kink is built for serious abuse. This soft flexing twin features hybrid camber, a board profile that understands snowboard satisfaction can only truly be achieved with a little control. Does the thought of a snowboard purchase sometimes put you in a state of euphoria so powerful that you think you might control the world? At other times does this same situation leave you so anxious and depressed that you feel your prefrontal lobes may not be working? Are these confusing feelings brought on by the idea that you’ll never find a snowboard that will meet all of your needs as a snowboarder who rides the entire mountain? If not, you may be bipolar and should talk to somebody about that, bro. For the rest of you, the Manic is an all-mountain shape with a directional rocker. The Manic features carbon stringers running from tip to tail to give the board a lively, responsive ride with plenty of pop. Slimewalls® will keep this board chatter-free at high speed thanks to the vibration damping qualities of urethane for a smooth, responsive ride on groomers, in the park, or wherever else your manic phase might take you.
The Agenda is like a girl from the suburbs who constantly drinks Starbucks (fancy fast food coffee, but who’s judging?) and uses the words “random” and “crazy” to describe her personality.
