2015/2016

Winter 2015/16 Is HUGE for G3 It marks our 20th year of inspiring and enabling people to fully enjoy backcountry mountain experiences by provoking boundaries of design and user experience. ‘Backcountry’ has emerged as the hottest trend in the industry, but G3 doesn’t need to jump on a band wagon. With two decades of backcountry gear experience to build upon, it’s simply what we do and who we are, 100%. Thanks to a committed collaboration between reputed athletes, ACMG/AMGA/IFMGA guides, and G3’s fiercely determined engineering team, we are proudly launching a full line of ION bindings, an insanely light and hard charging ski & splitboard line-up, and eight new climbing skins to trump our own industry benchmark. No small feat for any brand, let alone an independent brand that started in a small North Vancouver basement. This odyssey of adventure wouldn’t have been possible without your support. The mountain community unites and ignites us, and we’re just getting started. Through innovation, perseverance, and passion for backcountry skiing and riding, G3 is constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible; so that you can too.

ion features & benefits

Superior Ski Performance More power. Consistent release.

The rookie of the year is back for more. Winner of 3 prestigious Editor’s Choice awards and coveted by skiers around the globe, the ION blew away expectations and spawned a whole series of bindings for 2015/16.

1

Simply put, it’s the highest performing, most user friendly and most reliable lightweight tech binding you could ask for. Power up, then charge the descent. 22 mm length adjustability Brake Options : 85/100/115/130 mm

Optimal Toe Elasticity

Results Toe pins squeeze your boot with higher force, take more energy to expand. The further they open, the more they want to close. This is superior to traditional tech bindings.

Absorbs energy and vibration at high speed and landings/compressions.

• Step in with ‘bam’! You know when you’re solidly in the binding, ready to ski. Superior snow removal in the process, and higher skier confidence before you drop in.

585 g / 1 lb 4.6 oz (single)

Forward Pressure A huge win for tech binding performance & safety.

Benefits • Maximized energy absorption. Minimized prereleases.

5-12 RV

2

Feature Higher and wider fulcrum position for toe arms.

Assures constant contact with the ski boot heel to maintain consistent release values in landings and compressions.

3

Wide Freeride Mount Transfers power to edges and enhances torsional rigidity of binding. Superior pull-out resistance.

• No need to ski with toes ‘locked’ out, thereby increasing skier safety.

33% wider than traditional tech bindings 40 mm spacing for all 4 toe screws.

6

simple & intuItive

3 4

Step-In Guidance

6

User Friendly Heel Rotation

BootStop pops up and locates your boot toe at correct place.

Turn heel in either direction to lock for touring with either hand.

Quick, easy & consistent step-in. When you’re in, you’re in.

No ‘wrong way’ to spin it. Intuitive transitions and instinctive use.

QuickFlick Heel Lifts

7

Single Tool - Pozi Drive #3

Easy to grab with pole or hand.

For all mounts and adjustments

Quicker transitions and uphill travel.

No heel spacer needed Less tools to carry in the field

reliability You know a binding does its job when you don’t notice it all day. You just ski, and ski hard.

awards

8

Snow Clearing Channel Hassle free step-in and transitions. Allows easy discharge to prevent snow build up and icing, avoiding unwanted pre-releases.

10 Heel AFD

(Anti Friction Device) Ensures consistent release for all boots, independent of sole type.

9

“A contender for top tech honors—and definitely the best-looking binding available.”

24

“An expansive toe-jaw position and a wide mounting location on this brand-new touring binding increase power and energy transfer to your edge.”

“...offers everything most mortals need to spend an enjoyable day in the backcountry.”

Powerful, Dependable Brake Fully retracting spring-loaded brake. Reassuring step-in. The most reliable brake deployment in the category, strong enough to lift/stop bigger freeride skis.

New Features 1

Tip Connector: Innovative laminated tip connector with new low profile, self-aligning stainless steel hands for a secure, lightweight connection.

2

Tail Connector: G3’s new low profile laminated tail strap now makes transitions even faster and easier. It’s refined shape and unique ‘pop up’ feature allows for effortless changes - with your gloves on! The over centre camming clip stays positioned on the tail strap, reduces tail strap wear and allows for easier adjustments.

3

Removable RipStrip: Reduces skin-to-skin adhesion, making it easier to pull apart skins. New this year, if your glue gets contaminated on an epic traverse, you can remove the rip strip for extra adhesion.

4

Premium Plush: Proprietary lightweight, fast gliding, supple yet super durable nylon plush.

5

More Length Adjustability: Now with 16 cm of length adjustability your G3 skins may fit your whole quiver of ski lengths.

Length Adjustability G3’s patented connection system allows the convenience of owning a pair of skins that will match the length of more than just one splitboard or pair of skis. Reliably connect with up to 16 cm of length adjustability.

ULTRA GLIDE A fast finish that provides ultra gliding performance unmatched by any other climbing skin without compromising traction.

-30C/-22F Unlike most other skins, G3’s proprietary skin adhesive is formulated to be fully functional down to -22 F/-30 C. You’ll notice it when you need it the most.

WATER PROOF G3’s durable hydrophobic waterproof treatment keeps the skins dry, preventing dreaded “ice clumping”. Expect fewer frustrations and far less fatigue while touring through multiple temperature zones.

Non-Toxic Adhesive G3’s proprietary adhesive does not use or produce any toxic or environmentally harmful ingredients during the manufacturing process. Feel safe and comfortable when using and working with G3 skins – we do!

TRIM TOOL So simple, so helpful. With a doubleblade design, ergonomic grip and built-in offset, G3’s famous climbing skin trim tool quickly and easily trims skins for a perfect fit. Patent US8844963.

PFOA Free G3 climbing skins use a new waterproofing treatment that does not harm the environment. Enjoy winter and preserve your natural surroundings while using your new and improved G3 climbing skins.

MADE IN CANADA Proudly manufactured in Canada, right at G3’s head office in North Vancouver, BC. Just minutes away, the North Shore mountains provide the perfect testing and proving ground for every new skin feature or fabric that leaves our office.
