HISTORY OF A PASSION

Founded in France in 1985, OXBOW was born from the meeting of boardsports fanatic Fabrice Valéri and fashion stylist Isabelle Cachot. The brand was developed alongside iconic athletes, like Laird Hamilton, pioneer of tow-in surfing, kitesurf, foilsurfing or more recently stand-up paddle surfing. From the beginning of the brand, OXBOW has never stopped exploring new territories and following riders on their craziest projects. Thanks to their close contact with these athletes, who cross over all disciplines (surf, snow, kite, freestyle skiing or windsurfing), from the very beginning OXBOW has created products that combine quality, technicality and creativity. OXBOW gives riders the chance to live their passion for boardsports, without restraints while always respecting their playground, Nature. This is OXBOW’s raison d’être, because nature will always be stronger than humanity.

Créée en France en 1985, OXBOW est née de la rencontre entre un passionné des boardsports, Fabrice Valéri et une styliste de mode, Isabelle Cachot. La marque s’est développée au contact des plus grands athlètes, à l’image de Laird Hamilton, pionnier du surf tracté, du kitesurf, du foilsurfing ou plus récemment du stand up paddle. Depuis sa création, OXBOW n’a eu de cesse d’explorer de nouveaux territoires, accompagnant les riders dans leurs projets les plus fous. C’est au contact de ces sportifs, évoluant dans toutes les disciplines (surf, snowboard, Kitesurf, ski freestyle ou encore windsurf) qu’OXBOW élabore depuis ses débuts des produits alliant qualité, technicité et créativité. All our teams, in particular the collection and production teams, work hard to achieve this on a daily basis. To see the proof of OXBOW’s commitment, consumers need to look for a special Naturally Committed Grade ©label. This is a scale used to measure the ecological friendliness of our products. These four criteria are assessed on a scale from 1 to 3 (good enough/ good/excellent) to help our consumers understand the impact that each product has on the environment. This label is on all our Naturally Committed products.

4 FLOWERS PROJECT BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE DESIGN TEAM

PAULINE BEUGNIOT ARTIST COLLABORATION Originally from Bordeaux, Pauline Beugniot is an artist overflowing with imagination. Her passion for the harmony of colors is spectacular and comes to life on paper, wood and canvas. Her goal is to keep evolving both through her technique and her mediums. Her ability to create original compositions and intuitively capture indescribable situations in the surf environment comes from a mix of both observation and imagination, fed by her personal experiences and travels. Her passion for surfing allows her to capture moments in life and art which cross, submerge and become one. A warm feeling comes from this blend and this is how she is able to express who she is.

Originaire de Bordeaux, Pauline Beugniot est une artiste à l’imagination débordante. Peintre et illustratrice, elle développe ses qualités graphiques et plastiques au profit d’un art toujours en évolution. Son intérêt pour les harmonies de couleurs se ressent dans ses œuvres sur bois, papier ou toile. Son but est de se diversifier tant au niveau des techniques que des supports. Son attrait pour les compositions originales et les scènes issues du monde du surf lui vient d’un savant mélange entre observation et imagination. Elle s’inspire de ses expériences et s’enrichit de ses voyages. Sa passion pour la glisse lui permet de capturer des instants de vie, qu’elle projette ensuite dans ses tableaux. Art et vie se croisent, s’emmêlent, ne font plus qu’un. Une ambiance chaleureuse ressort de cette association. C’est ainsi que son art nous dévoile une partie de son état d’esprit.

Always ready to evolve her “ savoir-faire ” Pauline has collaborated with OXBOW and has worked closely with the design team to bring a new dimension a new expression of the values of the OXBOW brand. Pauline is always moving and exhibits regularly along the Atlantic coast. “ I like to confront the critics and impressions of the public to be able to keep evolving ” she says regarding her exhibitions and the artistic statements she makes. This young artist will be exhibiting for the 3rd time this year at the M.I.A.C.S (The international market of surf art). She offers a fresh and colorful vision to the surf world. Look for her signature on product pages to reconize her styles

Toujours prête à développer un certain savoir-faire, Pauline collabore aujourd’hui avec OXBOW, s’offrant ainsi l’opportunité de travailler en équipe. Son art prend une nouvelle dimension, une nouvelle expression, au travers des valeurs portées par l’univers d’OXBOW. Pauline Beugniot est toujours en mouvement et expose souvent sur les spots bien connus de la côte atlantique. “ J’aime me confronter aux critiques et impressions des gens pour avancer, tout est bon à prendre lors d’une exposition et c’est en partie grâce à ça que j’évolue ”. Cette jeune artiste en est à sa troisième participation au M.I.A.C.S, le Marché International de l’Art Consacré au Surf. Elle y offre une vision des sports de glisse tout en couleurs. It’s not what you ride but how you ride This phrase expresses the OXBOW casual women’s collection for Spring/Summer 13. The OXBOW girl dares to be different and have fun and has the confidence to create her own style by mixing her products in a way that is unique to her. The products in this range allow her to create the silhouette that reflects her artistic and creative nature. As a brand deeply inspired by nature and different cultures you will find an abundance of macramé effects and mixed materials, evoking the desire to travel and explore. Intricate pattern making is carefully balanced with heather and textured effects, soft linen fabrics and mini stripes in this eclectic collection, capitalizing on our origins as a brand bringing fashion to the surf scene. This season we worked with artist/surfer Pauline Beugniot for the first time to complement our products with poetic and fluid graphics, delicately inspired by nature and the ocean. Colorful, creative and positive, Pauline represents the OXBOW spirit and where we wanted to go with this collection. Sun-bleached and superposed photo effects, tinted resin touches and a splash of floral, paisley and microprints have also nourished the personal touch to this collection. Colors for SS13 have been inspired by warm iconic destinations. Cuba plays with blues and peach with a brown base in a harmonious mélange. Sharing the brown base the Miami theme is a little more daring, throwing in a dose of green alongside Tea Rose to create a fresh and lively tropical punch. The Australia theme introduces earth reds and oranges combined with a sunflower yellow for the perfect inter-seasonal solution.

Audacieuse, créative et innovante, la collection printemps/ été 2013 est axée sur la diversité des modes de glisse qui inspire leur style de vie à nos consommatrices. La femme OXBOW ose la différence, s’amuse à mixer les éléments de la collection pour créer son style unique, reflétant sa nature artistique et créative. Profondément inspirée par la nature et le mélange des cultures, avec son désir de voyager et d’explorer ; la collection OXBOW s’offre des mélanges de matières, d’effet macramé et de points. Fort de nos origines de marque aux confluents de la mode et du surf, cette collection éclectique associe des motifs originaux en les harmonisant avec des effets chinés ou texturés, du lin souple ou des mini rayures. Notre première collaboration avec l’artiste surfeuse Pauline Beugniot enrichit la gamme de graphismes poétiques et fluides, inspirés par la nature et les océans. Avec sa « patte » artistique, colorée, créative, et délicate, Pauline incarne l’esprit même de la collection OXBOW. Les photos sur-exposées comme délavées par le soleil, les effets résines teintées, les touches florales, les tissus à motifs cachemire ou micro imprimés expriment la singularité de la collection Femme. Les trois gammes couleurs s’inspirent de pays exotiques. CUBA, pour les tons bleus, les ciels mélangés de tons pêches travaillés harmonieusement avec des bases beiges. Avec les mêmes neutres, le thème MIAMI ose la fraicheur tropicale par la vivacité de ses verts associés au Tea Rose. L’AUSTRALIA, avec ses terres rouges et chaudes rehaussées de flamboyants orangés et jaunes pour une inter-saison parfaite.
