In ricordo di Diego Diego era molto legato alla montagna e aveva nel sangue la passione per lo sport e desiderava condividere questo suo mondo con gli altri. Considerava le montagne in cui era cresciuto come un bene meraviglioso da far conoscere e vivere come lui stesso le aveva vissute e conosciute. Era fortemente animato da un senso dell’altruismo che lo ha sempre spinto a condividere le sue esperienze e a mettersi al servizio degli altri, organizzando gare spettacolari o prestando servizio nel Soccorso Alpino. Il suo ricordo, le tante esperienze ed il suo volto sempre sorridente ci confortano e ci spingono a portare avanti i suoi progetti e le iniziative nate dalla sua passione e dal suo grande amore per la montagna. Per questo siamo sicuri che la sua “Dolomites Skyrace” continuerà ad esistere e vivrà nel suo ricordo, perché Diego sarà sempre e comunque al nostro fianco. Diego, è stato un onore esserti amico e un grande piacere condividere con te le tue passioni e aiutarle a crescere.
In memory of Diego Diego was deeply fond of mountains and his life was deeply influenced by his great passion and love for sports that he wanted to share with his friends and other people as well. He considered the Dolomites where he was grown a precious and common wealth to share and to experience with others. Diego has always been inspired by a great sense of altruism that pushed him to organise extraordinary mountain races and to provide his help as Alpine Rescue volunteer. His memory, all the wonderful moments lived together and his smiling face will comfort and encourage us to carry on his projects and dreams. For this reason, we are sure, his “Dolomites Skyrace” will continue to exit and will continue to grow in his memory as Diego will always stand by our side. Diego, it’s been a great honour to be a friend of yours and a great pleasure to share your passions and to help them grow.

Il Comitato Organizzatore della Sellaronda Skimarathon ed il Comitato Organizzatore della Dolomites Skyrace, in onore del loro ideatore ed organizzatore prematuramente scomparso, mettono in palio il Memorial Diego Perathoner che sarà assegnato all’atleta che otterrà il miglior piazzamento nell’edizione 2011 delle due competizioni, sulla base delle classifiche generali ufficiali maschile e femminile. Il Trofeo sarà consegnato in occasione della cerimonia di premiazione della “Dolomites Skyrace” che si terrà domenica 24 luglio 2011 alle ore 14.00 in Piazza Marconi a Canazei.
The Sellaronda Skimarathon Organizing Committee together with the Dolomites Skyrace Organizing Committee, in memory of their founder and organizer prematurely died, will assign the Memorial Diego Perathoner Prize. It will be awarded to the female and male athlete who will obtain the best result in the 2011 editions of both the races. The prize will be given on the occasion of the “Dolomites Skyrace” prize-giving ceremony that will take place on Sunday July 24 2011 at 2.00 p.m. in Piazza Marconi in Canazei.

nome dell’Amministrazione Comunale di Canazei e di tutta la comunità che rappresento porgo il mio più cordiale saluto di benvenuto a tutti i partecipanti alla quattordicesima edizione della Dolomites Skyrace, evento di prim’ordine nel panorama sportivo internazionale e grande motivo di orgoglio per la nostra località turistica. Un appuntamento divenuto ormai immancabile per tutti gli appassionati di questa spettacolare disciplina che trova nello scenario unico delle nostre Dolomiti una cornice di grande suggestione, fatta di scorci incredibili ed imprese sportive ed umane che rimangono come indelebili ricordi da serbare nella memoria. Rivolgo un caloroso ringraziamento a tutti i concorrenti di questa competizione, con l’augurio che la Dolomites Skyrace possa trasmettere a ciascuno di essi quelle emozioni forti e quelle soddisfazioni grandi che solo lo sport vero ed una natura maestosa come quella delle nostre Dolomiti sanno regalare. La montagna, la fatica e lo sport come passione, come amore grande da condividere con gli altri: questa è una delle eredità più grandi che ci ha lasciato l’ideatore ed il fondatore della Dolomites Skyrace, Diego Perathoner, che vogliamo raccogliere e continuare a far crescere. Il mio particolare riconoscimento va, pertanto, a tutti i numerosi volontari che presteranno servizio e che saranno impegnati nell’organizzazione di questo evento sportivo che rappresenta per la nostra comunità un importante momento di crescita, di aggregazione e di collaborazione reciproca per accogliere gli atleti che giungeranno da ogni parte del mondo e per rendere la loro partecipazione alla Dolomites Skyrace sicura e piena di soddisfazione. n the name of the Municipality of Canazei and its entire community that I’m representing, I am really pleased to welcome all the participants to the 14th edition of the Dolomites Skyrace, a first rate event in the international skyrunning calendar and a reason for pride for our resort. The Dolomites Skyrace has become, in fact, an unmissable appointment for all the enthusiasts of this incredible sporting discipline that finds in the amazing sceneries of our Dolomites its perfect location that turns unbelievable moments of sports and human growing into unforgettable memories and experiences of life really impossible to forget. The mountain and the sport lived and experienced as a real passion, as a great love to share and communicate to the others: this is one of the greatest heritage that Diego Perathoner, the Dolomites Skyrace creator and founder, has left us and that we are proud to collect and to make grow. Un importante riconoscimento per questa gara, creata e fortemente voluta dall’indimenticato Diego Perathoner, e cresciuta costantemente grazie al lavoro ed allo sforzo dei tanti volontari che si adoperano per il suo successo, la sua riuscita e per la sua affermazione quale appuntamento di primo piano con il grande sport in Val di Fassa e nelle sue Dolomiti, montagne uniche e spettacolari, riconosciute dall’Unesco patrimonio naturale di tutta l’umanità. ’m really proud to welcome all the athletes who are going to take part in the Dolomites Skyrace, come this year to its 14th edition and chosen by the International Skyrunning Federation as one of the trials of the Skyrunning World Series 2011. An important award for this race which was created and deeply wanted by the unforgotten Diego Perathoner, who perished prematurely in an Alpine rescue operation. The Dolomites Skyrace is a special race constantly growing mainly thanks to the strong efforts of the numerous volunteers who hardly work for its success and to make it one of the most important sporting event in the Val di Fassa summer season and in its wonderful Dolomites, recently recognized by the Unesco as a natural human heritage. I wish to all the athletes who will reach Val di Fassa to compete in the Dolomites Skyrace that this race will turn into a great experience from the agonistic, emotional and human point of view, in the name of sport and nature, surrounded by a unique and wonderful natural setting. A special thanks to all the members of the Organizing Committee for their work and to all the volunteers who, thanks to their precious service, make the Dolomites Skyrace possible and strive for its success, to promote our territory and its most important sporting and human values. La gara, è aperta a tutti gli atleti in possesso della vigente certificazione medica per l’idoneità alla pratica degli sport agonistici, rilasciata dal medico di medicina sportiva e valido alla data della gara, e che abbiano compiuto i 18 anni di età. ■ Equipaggiamento, giacca vento obbligatoria: il pettorale va indossato costantemente in vista, facoltativo è l’uso dei bastoncini. ■ Vige il regolamento esposto pre-gara con riferimento alle norme ISF e FISKY. ■ Il numero massimo di partecipanti è stabilito in 650 concorrenti, in ogni caso hanno la precedenza i migliori classificati delle più prestigiose competizioni. ■ Per il completamento della gara è fissato un tempo massimo di 4 ore e 15 minuti. ■ Saranno in ogni caso esclusi dalla gara i concorrenti che transitano con un tempo superiore dalla partenza di 1 ora e 5 minuti al passo Pordoi e 1 ora e 50 minuti alla Forcella Sass Pordoi. ■ Verrà obbligatoriamente vietato il proseguimento della gara ai concorrenti che superano i suddetti tempi. ■ É obbligatorio comunicare al più vicino controllore il ritiro dalla gara, qualunque sia il motivo. ■ In caso di sopravvenute condizioni atmosferiche tali da costituire pericolo per i concorrenti, a giudizio insindacabile della Giuria potrà essere modificato il percorso o sospesa o rinviata la competizione in qualsiasi momento. ■ Con l’atto di iscrizione i concorrenti sollevano gli organizzatori da qualsiasi responsabilità civile e penale a persone e cose che possono verificarsi durante e dopo la gara in relazione alla stessa. ■ Il comitato comunque dichiara di aver stipulato l’assicurazione per la responsabilità civile per rischi derivanti dall’organizzazione della gara. The competition is open to Italian and foreign runners, who possess an update medical certificate for competitive sports, released by a sports doctor. The certificate must be valid by the date of the race. Runners must be at least 18 years old. ■ Compulsory Equipment: participants must wear their chest-bands with the number always visible. The use of poles is optional, the use of windbreakers is compulsory. ■ Rules will be enforced according to ISF and FISKY. ■ The maximum number of participants is 650 runners. Those best qualified in the most prestigious competitions have priority. ■ The competition must be completed in a maximum of 4 hours and 15 minutes. ■ The runners reaching Passo Pordoi after more than 1 hour and 5 minutes and Forcella Sass Pordoi after more than 1 hour and 50 minutes will be excluded from the competition. ■ Runners exceeding the settled times will be disqualified. ■ It is necessary to communicate the withdrawal from the competition, whatever the reason, at the closest control area. ■ If weather conditions are dangerous for participants, the Jury has the authority to change the course or cancel the competition at any time. ■ Registration relieves the Organization of civil and criminal liability for any damage that may occur to persons or property before, during, or after the competition. ■ The Committee has taken out an insurance against civil liability for risks related to the organization of the competition. The race is 22 km long (10 km uphill, 12 km downhill), the path changes from ground to gravel The race begins and ends in Piazza Marconi, Canazei (m. 1450), the maximum height of Piz Boè is 3.152 m., the height difference is 1.750 m. The course is marked with flags. Refreshments are available at Passo Pordoi (2.239), Forcella Pordoi Refuge (2.829 m.), Boè Refuge (2.871 m.), Restaurant Pian Schiavaneis. Da sempre la Dolomites Skyrace vive grazie all’impegno e alla disponibilità che numerosissimi volontari mettono a disposizione per la buona riuscita della manifestazione. Tra questi, un ruolo fondamentale è ricoperto dal Corpo del Soccorso Alpino, che con la propria esperienza garantisce alla nostra competizione la cosa più importante: la sicurezza degli atleti. In questa occasione il pensiero del Comitato vuole andare agli amici del Soccorso che in questi anni hanno prestato servizio con dedizione e impegno lungo il percorso della Dolomites Skyrace e che oggi non sono più tra di noi: Diego, Alex, Erwin e Luca, tragicamente scomparsi in Val Lasties il 26 dicembre 2009 durante un’operazione di soccorso, e Dimitri, venuto a mancare il 7 aprile 2010 a seguito di un incidente sciistico. In loro memoria, il Comitato devolverà e 1,00 a fronte di ciascuna iscrizione pervenuta, al Corpo del Soccorso Alpino Alta Fassa. La somma raccolta contribuirà alla realizzazione, in località Passo Pordoi, di un “centro addestramento ARVA” a loro dedicato, che il prossimo inverno aiuterà i numerosi appassionati della montagna ad affrontarla con maggiore sicurezza, testando gli ARVA e facendo simulazioni per il ritrovamento, affiancati da persone esperte e preparate. La somma raccolta verrà consegnata al rappresentante del Soccorso Alpino Alta Fassa durante la cerimonia di premiazione di domenica 24 luglio 2011. Questo ci sembrava il modo più giusto per ricordarli e per sentirli ancora parte della Dolomites Skyrace. Il Comitato Organizzatore
Remembering our friends of the Dolomites SkyRace The Dolomites Skyrace lives only thanks to the involvement and the help provided by all the volunteers who hardly work for the success of this important sporting event. Among these people, the precious support and help of the Alpine Rescue Team members are one of the most important ones. In fact, thanks to their deep knowledge of the territory and their experience in mountain, they can guarantee the most important aspect of our race: the athletes’ safety. In particular, our thought goes to our friends of the local Alpine Rescue Team, always providing their assistance during the Sky Race, who are no longer with us: Diego, Alex, Erwin e Luca, perished in Val Lasties on December 26 2009 during a rescue operation, and Dimitri, died in a ski accident on April 7 2010. To honour their memory, the Organizing Committee will donate to the local Alpine Rescue Station 1,00 e for each entry to the race. The amount of money collected will be used to create, from the next winter season, an “ARVA training area” nearby the Pordoi Pass, where skiers can learn to use specific ARVA equipments with the supervision of trained instructors in order to live their approach to the mountain in a safer way. The donation will be delivered to the Alpine Rescue Chief during the Dolomites Skyrace prize-giving ceremony on Sunday July 24. Our intention is aimed at remembering our friends and still feeling them with us along the track of the Dolomites Skyrace. The Organizing Committee

Il Comitato Organizzatore Dolomites Skyrace organizza per il giorno

La partecipazione alla gara è riservata ai ragazzi e alle ragazze nati tra il 1996 e il 2002. La lunghezza del percorso è di circa 2.500 mt. con un dislivello di circa 150 mt. La partenza è prevista in Piazza Marconi a Canazei, alle ore 16.00 di sabato 23 luglio. L’arrivo è previsto in Piazza Marconi a Canazei, traguardo anche della Dolomites Skyrace di domenica 24 luglio. Le iscrizioni saranno aperte in zona partenza fino alle ore 15.45 del giorno della gara. La quota di partecipazione è di euro 1,00; l’importo sarà devoluto in beneficenza al Corpo del Soccorso Alpino Alta Fassa. Le categorie previste sono due: dal 1996 al 1998 e dal 1999 al 2002, sia maschili che femminili. ✔ Saranno premiati i primi tre classificati di ogni categoria, sia in campo maschile che femminile. ✔ La premiazione si svolgerà sabato sera alle ore 21.oo in Piazza Marconi a Canazei. ✔ Il genitore, all’atto dell’iscrizione del proprio figlio/a, solleverà il Comitato da ogni responsabilità per eventuali inconvenienti che dovessero verificarsi durante la gara.
