BIO I came to England at 10 years old in 2006 from the Democratic Republic of Congo. I began playing football in my primary school playground where I was seen as a potential player by the school’s youth club leader who then asked me to join his 5 a-side team who competed every Saturday in a local tournament. From playing 5 a-side, I made friends with players who were already established in local teams, they were always eager to take me to their clubs but I could not speak English and that was a barrier at the time, however I regarded it as a motivation to learn English quickly so that I could make friends to play football with them. In 2007 a year after I arrived in the UK, my English understanding and speaking had improved also my relationships with the players in my 5 a-side team had grew stronger so they took me to their Sunday league football team where they all played 11 a-side football and the manager liked my style of playing which resulted to him signing me as an attacking midfielder where I was doing great. I became a mad fan of William Gallas; watching his highlights on replays as I got really excited watching him make hard physical tackles where both the ball and the player are cleared from the danger zone, I decided to become a defender and that’s how I ended up as a center back. I went on to represent my district, sign for a center of excellence at a professional established club, playing county level and also experiencing the full time football life at Kidderminster Harriers FC and Coventry City FC. I now wish to pursue the path for an American dream.
