Lisa Urban

Director of Community Ambassador Program

Lisa Urban joined the Super Bowl LV Host Committee in January of 2020 and will serve as the Director of Community Ambassador Program. Previously working for Ernst & Young, USF Health and Visit Tampa Bay, Lisa has gained a wealth of knowledge, experience, familiarity and connectivity in the Tampa Bay community. During her time at Visit Tampa Bay, she worked closely with the Tampa Bay Sports Commission and served on numerous major event local organizing committees. For the last seven years, Lisa has helped manage event day logistics and operations at the annual Sneaker Soiree, Tampa Bay’s premier, “off-the-field”, red carpet event. In 2012, Lisa was a Social Media Captain for the NCAA Frozen Four, followed by the Courtesy Car Co-Manager and FANSParilla Event Coordinator for the 2015 Women’s Final Four, and in 2017, Lisa managed the operations and volunteers for Championship Yacht Village for the College Football National Championship. Lisa graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and holds her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation. She is also an active member of WISE Tampa Bay (Women in Sports and Events), the newest local chapter in the country. You hold your Professional in Human Resources designation and have spent the vast majority of your professional career working in different areas of human resources. How do these experiences and skillsets strengthen your ability to lead the Community Ambassador effort for the host committee? I feel extremely lucky to have the opportunity to combine my past HR experience with my love for event management and sports to pilot the Community Ambassador Program for Super Bowl LV. Although I do not come from a strictly sports background, the parallels of this position and my previous HR roles are uncanny. Anyone will tell you that in the HR world, you are never working on one item at a time and you have to constantly reassess priorities and deadlines, plus be adaptable as things can change in an instant. The ability I have had throughout my career to learn this firsthand, helps me strategically juggle multiple things at once and is an important part of managing the Community Ambassador Program. I have had an opportunity to see and be involved in almost all areas of human resources, including payroll, recruitment, employee relations, problem solving, and working with diverse groups across many platforms. All of these experiences have provided me with a unique framework to lead the Community Ambassador Team for Super Bowl LV. You served in a leadership role as a volunteer captain during the 2012 NCAA Frozen Four, 2015 Women’s Final Four, and the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship. How will that hands-on experience help you elevate and execute the Community Ambassador Program for the Super Bowl LV Host Committee? I have been fortunate enough to be involved in a lot of the major sporting events in Tampa over the last ten years through my involvement with the Sports Commission. With each event, I have held various roles including Social Media Captain, Courtesy Car Co-Manager, FANSparilla 3 TOUCHDOWN TAMPA BAY

Event Coordinator, and Yacht Village Manager. Each experience has shown me a different area of event management. I look forward to combining this first-hand knowledge with what I have learned professionally throughout my career to execute the Super Bowl LV Community Ambassador Program on the highest level. What could a prospective Community Ambassador expect to be involved in during Super Bowl LV activities? What are some of the benefits of being an ambassador, outside of the obvious of being a part of arguably the biggest sporting event in the world? Our Community Ambassador Team will be placed in areas such as the airport, hotels, and the downtown corridor serving as the guests’ first impression to the Tampa area, answering questions that fans may have, and ensuring visitors have a fun and safe trip to our downtown area and parks. Additionally, they will all receive Super Bowl LV Ambassador apparel, meet new friends, create memories that will last a lifetime and experience the energy and fun from a front-row seat! This is also a great event to encourage friends and family to participate in as well! For readers at home, who is qualified to apply to become a Super Bowl LV Community Ambassador? What are some of the main characteristics you are looking for in a Community Ambassador? First and foremost, to be able to qualify for our Community Ambassador Team, you must be 18 years old at the time of your application and be willing to submit to a mandatory background screening. In addition, we are looking for individuals who are friendly, reliable, passionate, team-oriented, and eager to show off Tampa Bay during Super Bowl LV week. There will be some leadership opportunities as well, and those who are interested should have existing management experience from a professional, community, volunteer, or sport setting. Additionally, they should have great communication skills and be able to problem-solve during each shift they oversee. The Super Bowl also attracts a number of colleges and university programs to participate, with around 500 students contributing in various capacities in Miami for Super Bowl LIV. Tampa is known for having a great volunteer base, with many returning for each new and exciting event we host. We would not be successful without their support and are excited to welcome everyone to the team! Continued on next page (pg. 5).

As the Director of the Community Ambassador Program for the Tampa Bay Super Bowl LV Host Committee, your main responsibilities will be managing close to 10,000 volunteers during the 10-day run of events leading up to Super Bowl LV. As a leader, how do you plan to ensure you are ready from both a communication standpoint as well as logistically? From a communication standpoint, I am fortunate enough to have a top-of-the-line registration platform that has extremely robust capabilities. I can send emails through the system, in addition to text messages as needed. It may sound simple, but having a streamlined area for communication is essential when dealing with upwards of 10,000 individuals in addition to having a dedicated email address, volunteer@tampabaysports.org to filter questions or concerns. On the logistics side of things, I will rely heavily on our 300-plus Community Ambassador Captains to ensure there is leadership present in all areas of the Super Bowl LV footprint. I will be in constant communication with these individuals and assess where I am needed based on their feedback. Luckily, Tampa is such an easy city to navigate, so I will be able to be accessible all week!

Getting Involved BUSINESS CONNECT update The Super Bowl LV Business Connect team is working strategically to stay connected, as well as provide relevant and proactive programming for member vendors. In addition to a welcome webinar for all Business Connect Resource Guide members in late March that provided an overview of what member vendors can expect from the program, the team also created a “pro tips” link on the vendor portal providing critical and helpful information to the vendors in an effort to maximize their success in the program. In response to recent business disruptions, the Business Connect team hosted a six-session Contractor Webinar Series in April including individual webinars for catering, décor, event production, general contracting, signage and staffing. This webinar series featured up to eight representatives from NFL contracting groups discussing their company’s contracting processes, timelines, vendor expectations and more. The personal connection between contractors and vendors that was made facilitated the kickoff of the initial round of Super Bowl LV procurement. In June, Business Connect will continue to host virtual workshops focused on helping to bring economic balance into the local, diverse-owned business community in Tampa. These efforts will support in identifying ways to adapt to changing business trends and vendor efforts to scale up to be Super Bowl ready post COVID-19. Tampa Bay Super Bowl LV Host Committee Launches the #TampaBayLV Social Quarterbacks Program The Tampa Bay LV Social QB program is a community social media initiative aimed at highlighting our region’s journey and hosting effort leading up to Super Bowl LV on February 7, 2021. We will rely on the power of the collective to help promote and amplify all of the free ancillary events and social impact initiatives via the social platforms of our incredible #TeamTampaBay franchises, partners, and personalities. The Social QB program is centered around the Tampa Bay Super Bowl LV Host Committee’s three-pillared tagline; Forward. Forever. Together. Our hope is that Team Forward, Team Forever, and Team Together will unite our hometown like never before by helping us share unique content over the next 10 months. We’re excited to have you join our team and share in the spirit of Tampa Bay as we prepare to host the most important and impactful Super Bowl of our lifetime, propelling us “Forward. Forever. Together.”

TEAM FORWARD (CAPTAIN: WILL WEATHERFORD, CO-CHAIRMAN) Team Forward will focus on how far our community has come since our last Super Bowl in 2009. Many of these changes are reflected in the growth and expansion of our downtown campus, an extension of the Tampa Riverwalk, enhanced hotel inventory, the addition of mixed purposed and residential towers as well as renovations and upgrades to public parks, bars, restaurants and event venues. You will hear us say “pardon our progress” versus “pardon our dust”… hard hat areas are a positive reminder that our city is invested and committed to progressing forward and creating a dynamic living, working and playing environment for locals and visitors alike.

TEAM FOREVER (CAPTAIN: DERRICK BROOKS, CO-CHAIRMAN) Team Forever will focus on the lasting impact that Super Bowl LV will have on our community. Forever 55, the Tampa Bay Super Bowl LV Host Committee’s and NFL’s $2 million social legacy initiative will focus on five key pillars; early childhood education, food insecurity, families, health and wellness, and sustainability. Long after the confetti clears, the legacy and transformative change from Super Bowl LV will be remembered and celebrated forever.

TEAM TOGETHER (CAPTAIN: ROB HIGGINS, PRESIDENT/CEO Team Together will focus on the collaborative chemistry that defines our community as we rally in support of each other. When we open back up for business, Team Tampa Bay will be ready to embrace and ignite our community’s passion for and love of sports.
