From the SCMS Committee Chairman Welcome to another Sports Content Management and Storage Forum. The quality of this event steadily increases each year, and we are very proud of this year’s program. I want to thank all of the moderators and panelists for spending the time to fine-tune their presentations. The goal is to provide valuable information and insights that we hope you can apply in some way to your organization. I have noticed one consistent theme in virtually every SVG event since its inception – change. Each year, we see technical innovation that drives change. These changes enable us, as technologists, to improve our workflows and the speed in which our stories can be told with a rich supply of content and statistical data. How we capture, curate, catalog, reference, edit, and publish our content is changing as well. Our vendors continue to push the envelope, and this forum spotlights emerging technology on every panel. Our goal is to show how technologies such as AI, machine

learning, object storage, large-scale remote MAM deployments, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure apply to real-life situations. Rather than see what these technologies CAN do, we will find out what they ARE doing. On a personal note, it’s been an enjoyable year working with Jason Dachman and all of the SVG staff on putting together this conference. As the technological landscape evolves, staying on top of how we can put great ideas into practical applications has become the core mission of the SCMS committee. We are here to put change in front of all of you. Better and smarter solutions will continue to present themselves. SVG’s role is to highlight the important ones and keep all of us informed. I’m proud to play a small part in helping all of us see the possibilities. Warmest Regards, Mark Haden
