Concept

Moji's population peaked at 160,000 people in the 1959, but has since been declining. Added with the fact that Moji has proportion of population over the age of 65 in Kitakyushu, Moji is currently facing the dire threat of urban shrinkage, and we need to revert that changes and bring back the population back into Moji. There’s a disparity between the tourism district and the residential districts.

1. The tourism district’s buildings is well-maintained and the streets is comfortable.

2. The residential districts has aged badly and unkempt. In some area, the streets was not as smooth as the tourism district, or have proper pedestrian way.

3. Some of the buildings in the commercial area has closed down indefinitely, and has been left to rot

4. The shrines and temples is well-kept

5.Some of the building took the western style, while some opted for traditional Japanese style
