Find a work/life dream team
You see, when it comes to work, you can seek harmony by asking your employers what the policies are for working from home a few days a week. Discuss policies on taking time off to care for sick children or if a snow day should occur. Ask if they offer childcare compensation – some places do! Be sure to ask about maternity and paternity leave and what their policies are about returning to work. When it comes to family life, you can plan out some things by talking with family members, friends and child care services, having designated schedules for car pools, and also having back-up help in case both parents can’t take much time off. Building your dream team, as I like to call it, is what is going to be a game changer for your journey as a parent. When you have a good support system in your corner, you and your kids are

without being so stressed out. Our kids deserve to see us be more than just OK and to feel that even after a storm, there are rainbows to dance under. Do something for yourself – go out, start a new by hobby, go join a new outside hobby, and start doing things that really bring you joy. So again, is there such thing as balance? To me, there won’t ever be, but when I think of doing my best, I like to break things down and priori-
tize them. I think that perhaps there is no real work life balance that can be achieved, but maybe the goal is more for harmony, much like the keys on a piano working together to build beautiful music.
