WHEN & WHERE New Designers will take place at the Business Design Centre, in London, during the course of two weeks: the first week – from June 26th to 29th – will be focused on textile and fashion, costume design and jewelry, ceramic, glass and contemporary design crafts; instead, the second week – from July 3rd to 6th – will be centered on furniture and product and industrial design, interior and graphic design, illustration, animation, motion, and digital arts. More than 3,000 hand-picked young creatives will be supported by the event’s program and be given advice and recognition for their inventive contribution. New approaches and methods are required to change old mentalities and that’s the aim of New Designers: creating an inclusive setting, in which experts are no longer focused on few subjects but have a broader range of expertise. As the event promotes: “We champion new thinking and new approaches to solving today’s problems through design. As society changes, so do New Designers”.

WHAT YOU CAN’T MISS

TALK PROGRAM The event will give importance to social, political and environmental issues revolving design in general that will be debated in seminars and panel discussions. It will be a two-week period of intense conversations and debates. Live case-studies from industry professional and topical issues such as “how crafts are merging with contemporary production to reinvigorate traditional making and aesthetic in the everyday home; the importance of designers imparting their personality and identity in their textiles, resilience in future trade, and designing a circular economy for innovative responses to healthcare, transport and product design� will be the center of the dialogue.
