But since speech is generally more accurate and quicker than other methods, there is significant growth in the use of multi-modal human-device interactions. The most widely used Voice Assistants are Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple’s Siri and Microsoft Cortana. PRODUCT TRENDS - CONNECTED HOMES

CES : 2019

IoT: Internet of Things More and more products are connected to each other and to complete home networks. This interconnectivity builds brand loyalty for products that work with an existing home system. LG's new smart kitchen range includes connected ovens that integrate with food delivery and recipe platforms such as Drop, Innit and Sidechef, coordinating cooking times automatically.

WHATS NEW IN TV? Outside of 8k, the biggest innovation in TV is LG's rollable TV. Debuted as a concept last year , it will launch at retail in 2019 as part of the brand's high-end Signature range. The model rolls into a discreet base when not in use, hiding the screen completely.

APPLE STARTS TO INTEGRATE Apple is making a bigger effort to be interoperable with third-party products, and make its services accessible without using Apple devices themselves. You’ll now be able to stream content from an iPhone to a Vizio, Samsung, or LG TV via the Airplay 2 standard that all three of these big TV manufacturers will be baking into their sets. Samsung TVs will be getting an integrated iTunes app. That means you won’t need any Apple hardware whatsoever to stream iTunes content to a TV.

Best of show nominee LG integrates with Google Home for a must-have bedside accessory. The Smart Clock includes Google Assistant, as well as a pared-down version of Google's smart display interface designed only to show you information like traffic on your route to work, weather, calendar appointments. Smack the clock when the alarm goes off and it will go into snooze mode. You can also set it to trigger a "good morning" routine across your Google Assistant smart home devices once you dismiss the alarm.

Impossible Burger 2.0. was selected as the BEST IN SHOW by Engadget. China asked its citizens to cut their meat intake by 50 percent in 2016 to help fight the country's challenges with pollution and agriculture, but it has had little impact on China's growing appetite for meat. Eating one Impossible Burger in place of a cow-based burger saves the equivalent of 75 square feet of land, a half bathtub of water and 18 miles of emissions in a car. They plan to enter the consumer marketplace in 2019.

PRODUCT TRENDS - HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Technology is putting health care directly in the hands of consumers. From remote monitoring products, to wearables to diagnostic solutions, the health care industry is embracing new tools and technologies to enhance the patient experience. Healthcare gets really personal... Connected healthcare devices (i.e. wearables) allow for more frequent data collection, as opposed to one standalone reading at a doctor’s office. With this comes the promise of better remote monitoring and precision medicine in real time. Advancements in healthcare tools like connected glucose monitors and Bluetoothenabled inhalers address chronic problems that could benefit from more insight and efficient dosing.

Wellness is not just about fitness and nutrition, but regeneration, too. Companies, and individuals, are taking note that sleep, in conjunction with nutrition and fitness, is critical to overall health and well-being. That’s why we’re seeing a slew of sleep-related products, ranging from fitness trackers integrating sleep tracking, bedding that tracks sleep habits and adjusts temperature, and lighting designed to help you wake more naturally. •35 percent of US adults aren't getting the recommended 7 hours of sleep each night •60 percent of US adults experience problems sleeping •The average American today sleeps 6.8 hours per night; in 1910 the average American slept 9 hours per night •Insufficient sleep has been linked to chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity and depression

PRODUCT TRENDS - TRANSPORTATION

CES : 2019

AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES Autonomous vehicles also known as a driverless car, robot car, self-driving car always have a strong showing at CES. This is year there were more car companies joining in and discussing the future related to the benefits of them. • Transformation of roads and construction. • Lower pollution by reducing fuel use, less traffic and improved conditions. • Relieve traffic congestion. • Help in the reduction of accidents.

Improvements in software to autonomous vehicles also includes parking assistance, collision avoidance, emergency braking and with the advances to 5G the vehicles will also have real time mapping information to reduce accidents even more. Many of the versions we saw were “people movers” or delivery type vehicles rather than personal autos.

DRIVER/PASSENGER EXPERIENCE Many technologies were focused on improving the interaction of vehicle and driver through predictive maintenance, biometric vehicle access, heads-up window displays, in-vehicle marketing and more. Kia's READ System (Real-time Emotion Adaptive Driving) analyses a user's emotional state using biometrics such as facial expression and heart rate, adjusting the environment in response.

PRODUCT TRENDS - 5G

CES : 2019

IoT is about technology fading into the background and becoming part of everything. It's about quietly transforming mundane things with data. The availability of 5G will unleash a tidal wave of new projects that are expected to appear in 2020. WHAT IS IT AND WHY DOES IT MATTER? The premise of the 5G network is speed of data connection 100 times as fast as now, cutting responsiveness delays (latency) to nearly none or real time, improved security, and increased of networks size. Where 3G-enabled smartphones and 4G accelerated online shopping and streaming, 5G is set to power up the IoT (for both home and citywide infrastructure) as well as gaming, AR and VR

5G networks are expected to have always-on capabilities and be energy efficient. This is the network that will allow for an even more connected world (IoT)

5G will have a huge impact on self driving/autonomous vehicles because it will significantly increase the speed of response.
