Tony Clement and Martha Marzolf from RE/MAX Properties, Inc. SPONSORED FEATURE
SPOTLIGHT: RE/MAX PROPERTIES, INC.
From one family to another, Martha Marzolf joins RE/MAX Properties, Inc. BY LESLIE MASSEY SPRINGSHOUSES.COM
Real estate brokers typically work as independent agents, however, Martha Marzolf has never regarded it that way. “I love the team aspect of real estate,” she said. “Sharing ideas and collaborating are the best parts of this business.” A Colorado Springs resident since 1986, Marzolf has established herself as one of the industry’s top producers with over 19 years of experience in Colorado Springs. Most of her real estate career was spent as one-half of the highly recognized duo Marzolf-Blessing from ERA Shields Real Estate, but she has recently partnered with long-time friend and trusted real estate agent Tony Clement of RE/MAX Properties, Inc. “ERA Shields was my family for a long time and parting ways was bittersweet,” said Marzolf. “Joining forces with Tony and the well-respected team at RE/ MAX was an exciting opportunity for me.” In fact, Marzolf has known the Clement’s for a pretty long time. “My brother and Tony played football together in high
school, so I’m just moving from one family to another.” Joining RE/MAX Properties as a Broker Manager of the south office is a new venture for her. “Management is an entirely new role for me, but I am looking forward to being part of bigger picture discussions about my company and the industry as a whole,” she said. Joe Clement, broker/owner of RE/MAX Properties, couldn’t be more excited to have her on board. “We are ecstatic to have Martha join our team,” said Clement. “She brings so much value to this office with her experience and knowledge. It is a pleasure to have her with us.” Despite a challenging battle with advanced stage breast cancer in 2012, Marzolf continues to be a formidable influence in the industry as well as the community. “Breast cancer was a rough journey to go through,” she said. “But I knew I’d be ok. I had a great team of health professionals helping me, and tremendous support from friends and family. I was cared for beyond belief.”
Throughout her fight, Marzolf kept a positive outlook and while she knew to expect a rough ride, she resolved to stay strong and not let breast cancer change her outlook. “I believe good mental fortitude is a very important part of the battle,” she said. “I lost my hair, had one cry about it, and decided to keep moving forward. It was something that I had to go through, but I would not get caught up in the distress.” Marzolf’s focus on the community certainly doesn’t end with her real estate calling, she is also deeply committed to the community as a volunteer within many local organizations and non-profits. Being an engaged community member is of significant purpose to her. “I believe it’s my civic duty to give back to this community,” she said. “I want to help make it a better place.” Serving on several committees, chairing numerous events, and sitting on a variety of boards, Marzolf has also been President of the Junior League of Colorado
MARTHA MARZOLF RE/MAX PROPERTIES, INC. 2630 Tenderfoot Hill St., Ste. 100 HomesColorado.com Springs and the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. “I love arts and culture, it creates a great energy and vitality in our town,” she said. “In terms of the economic aspect, it’s important to have good opportunities available, and I think Colorado Springs is further along than the rest of the state thinks we are.” Currently, she is serving on three boards: Penrose St. Francis, Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region and the Advisory Board for the Fine Arts Center. “There’s so much to do, you really get a choice of how you wish to participate,” she said. “It’s part of who I am, I wouldn’t have it any other way.” Truthfully, Marzolf’s fondness for volunteerism and her love for
working as a real estate broker go hand in hand with her affection for the Pikes Peak region. “Both ventures are about relationships and I love seeing people become ingrained in the community,” she said. “The cool thing about my job as a Realtor is getting to showcase our city and present the lifestyle here.” Marzolf also really appreciates the challenges always present in the real estate industry and the need to be a problem solver. “There’s always something new to learn,” she said. “Every deal is different and it requires you to be a strategic thinker, and sometimes you have to look outside the box to figure it out. You never know what’s going to happen next.” Continually learning and
understanding more about her job every day has permitted Marzolf to become solid advocate for her clients. “I have been blessed to go from one great family to another,” she said. “I value all of the experience and guidance in its entirety.” RE/MAX Properties, Inc. has been the number one residential real estate brokerage in Colorado Springs since 1989. The company has nearly 200 full-service professional Broker Associates that service all areas of Colorado Springs and surrounding areas in addition to relocation clients worldwide. RE/MAX Properties, Inc. is open seven days a week. More information can be found online at www.HomesColorado.com.
