2016 Parade of Homes award winners announced Congratulations to the People’s Choice and Industry Awards recipients COURTESY OF HOUSING & BUILDING ASSOCIATION OF COLORADO SPRINGS COLORADO SPRINGS — The Housing & Building Association of Colorado Springs (CSHBA) announced Thursday the winners of the People’s Choice Awards and the Industry Awards of Excellence for the 62nd annual Parade of Homes. The recipients were honored at the Parade of Homes Awards Banquet, held at the Pinery at The Hill with more than 240 people in attendance. Peak FM’s Goose was the emcee of the evening. The sponsors of the event were AXIA Home Loans, Peak Lighting and the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department. This year’s Parade homes ranged in price from less than $100,000 to more than $1,500,000. Twenty-four builders presented 27 homes located in communities throughout the Pikes Peak Region with hub sites at The Farm and
Flying Horse. Industry professionals from around the state judged the homes on a number of features including landscape design, floor plan, architectural exterior and interior decorating. The coveted People’s Choice Awards are voted on each year by Parade attendees. The People’s Choice and Industry Awards are both broken out into multiple categories divided by price point. Industry Awards are then divided among the following categories: Best Kitchen, Best Master Suite, Best Interior Design, Best Landscape Design, Best Architectural Exterior, Best Craftsmanship and Best Overall Home.
