W H AT TO E X P E C T Our design process is collaborative, exciting, and fun! It consists of six phases.
1. Project Launch The initial design study will include collaborative meetings to clarify the scope of your project and the direction of the design. We will have you fill out a questionnaire to learn about your preferences, what is important to you, and how to make your space work with your lifestyle. We will gather all relevant information on your home, like architectural drawings, site and project information, measurements, and photographs.
2. Design Development Design development is where we spend most of our time. We put on our creative hats, dive into the concept, and flush out all details. We create mood boards, determine layout, collect samples, and gather preliminary ideas for color scheme, furniture, window treatments, and lighting. We will also be working closely with contractors at this time should it be required for your project.
3. Design Approval We will present you with a combination of drawings, mood boards, colors scheme, photos, material and fabric samples, and other visual aids to help you to understand the design entirely. During the meeting, we will narrow down your options on all design elements and the overall plan. If there are elements of the design that need to be refined, researched or sourced, we will do so quickly and verify your final approval on those items with a second meeting. Congratulations! You now have an approved comprehensive design plan.
WHAT TO EXPECT
4. Purchasing and Procurement Before ordering, we will ask for your formal approval on each product via a quote. The prices quoted will indicate the most accurate pricing available, though you can on occasion expect minor variations in final vendor pricing to occur. We will reflect these changes and all shipping costs on the final invoice. We require 100% down payment for items we order. Once we receive the signed quote and deposit, we initiate orders immediately. We take care of all the details, acting as the purchasing agent on your behalf. All invoices and questions from vendors will be forwarded and handled by our firm. We prepare all specifications and purchase orders. We will communicate with vendors regarding specifications, ordering, expediting, quality inspections, coordination, and timely delivery and installation in your home. We keep you aware of any important developments carried out through the purchasing process.
5. Order Receiving and Inspection Our third party shipping and receiving company receives, unpacks, and inspects all items. If any damages are present, we are notified to either initiate a return and replacement with the vendor, or coordinate a furniture repairman to fix it while at the warehouse. They then assemble the item and ensure there are no missing parts, and lovingly re-wrap it in blankets to prepare your furniture for delivery.
6. Installation Day This is the moment you have been waiting for. While you are away, we will have all furniture delievered and installed. Upon your return, a celebration is in order! Invite your friends and family to admire your new space and share the champagne. It’s time to enjoy your beautiful home for years to come!
