Architecture is art that can stimulate activities. While traditional architecture is a natural blending of the local environment and people’s living habits, I believe modern architecture can be a more proactive factor in society, having a powerful influence on people’s perspectives and lifestyle choices. The subtle but unbreakable link between human's psychological behavior and architectural space is what I focus on and try to create in my works.

Living Exhibition Petersen Automotive Museum November, 2014 (B.Arch) Location: Los Angeles, U.S. Tutor: Xu Zhen, Sheng Qiang, Ben J.Refuerzo Software Involved: Rhinoceros, Autodesk CAD, Photoshop,V-ray Through interweaving the public space and exhibition space, museum can be more attractive to local residents and car-lovers. To the visitors, various activities in public space also become a kind of "living exhibition " in the museum.

Re-edging Rebuild the Edge of Havana Bay October-December, 2016 (M.Arch II) Location: Havana, Cuba Tutor: Tao DuFour Software Involved: Rhinoceros, Photoshop,V-ray Havana bay is one of the most important ports and industrial areas in Cuba. But government decides to change the main function of the bay into tourists gradually and move industrial areas and goods transportation out of the Havana bay. The aim of this proposal is to transform the function of this area and activate it. Malecon is a very important civic place for havana citizens. They like gather there, drinking beers, fishing and chatting with each other or strolling. It begins from estuary of Almendares river and extends to old Havana. My proposal is to extend the malecon from old city to activate this area. The infrastructure extends along the bay and the river, finally connecting with these two urban areas at the end. In addition, the infrastructure also could rehebilitate water to create an appropriate environment for civic activities.

12

Now the industrial areas around the bay somehow separate the city with the bay. Urban areas around this industrial area are housing areas for poor workers of the factories. The transportation system along the bay is very complex. Roads and railways divide the area into several pieces. Cause more serious isolation of this area. And there is large amount of urban hinterland. Basing on the current isolation situation of this area, to develop it, have to connect this area with rest of the city and bring people into this area.

Constructed Wetland

A rotatable bridge both for vehicals and pedestrian connects the malecon and southern industrial area, making the dock a transportation hub. The infrastructure is a mixed use building at the dock, including a ferry terminal, parking lots and commercial.

Along the Luyano river it is thin pedestrian bridge, stitches two sides of river. And the two sides of river are re appropriated. Near the city , the hinterlands are re-appropriated as sports fields. The abandoned industrial sites become culture institutes, art galleries. The huge urban hinterland becomes landscape park.

Along the bay edge, the waste green space is changed into constructed terraced wetland. Through manipulating the ground, take use of the elevation difference of the ground to create diverse public spaces for strolling, fishing, bird viewing and relaxing.

Water Rehebilitation Now the factories cause serious water pollution to the bay and the river also bring contamination from upriver industrials. The wetland both along the river and the bay are rebuilt, trying to construct a water rehabilitation system. The strategy is to combine bio-rehabilitation with chemical rehabilitation. Different plant species are arranged to treat the contaminations at different parts. Some of the abandoned buildings are reappropriated as water treatment factories and combining water quality monitoring station with the pedestrian bridges, help water rehabilitation.

Buffer Zone for Flood Constructed wetlands also function as buffer zone for flood. The wetland slows shoreline erosion and are able to absorb excess nutrients before they reach oceans and estuaries. Tidal marshes also provide vital food and habitat for clams, crabs and juvenile fish, as well as offering shelter and nesting sites for several species of migratory waterfowl.

Story of Sunlight Parametric Experiment about Sunlight_____ Experimental Community Market November, 2013 (B.Arch) Location: Tianjin, China Tutor: Xu Zhen, Wang Zhigang Software Involved: Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Photoshop,V-ray The design task is to develop a parametric experimental project with sunlight as a decisive parameter. The proposal initiated from the survey of peddlers' regular activities pattern in local community__ the types of active peddlers, numbers and state of aggregation are various in different time period, as well as the customers. Thus, a project matching the peddlers' activities pattern with regular sunlight pattern can create an ideal shopping environment for both customers and sellers.

Clouds Multifunction Movie Studio Design December, 2014 (B.Arch) Location: Hainan, China Tutor: Zhang Xinnan Software Involved: Rhinoceros, Photoshop,V-ray The proposal is a new private cinema in a holiday village hotel. The private cinema (about 20m2) should be multifunctional, not only a place for watching movie, but also for various image-relating experiences. The proposal tries to create a wonderful space: on one second you were playing in magic world, next second you are participating in a teleconference.

Process of Getting Classic Movie Space I add four pieces 'float clouds', the bilayer membranes, to create the new moviewatching style. The membrane can change from face to lump easily by inflating gas into it. When there is no gas in it, it's used as a screen which can encompass the customers in different angle. And when the membrane is inflated, it's used as furniture.

Zmazon Hypothetical Proposal: Renovation of the New York's Subway System 2036-2056 Jul, 2016 (M.Arch II) Location: Manhattan, New York Tutor: Micheal Young & Kutan Ayata Software Involved: Rhinoceros, Photoshop,V-ray The project is a hypothetical proposal, Assumpting we are in 2056 and retrospect what happened in 2036-2056, if New York subway system were absoleted in 2036. In my proposal, a delivery company bought the absolete subway system and developed a high-speed delivery system through combining absolete subway system and the ventilating duct in buildings. At that time, people can get what they ordered online within 3 minutes. The system is also a recycling system which can deliver wastes to recycling stations. In 2056, the Magnetic tube system works as Manhattan's vessel. And it has profoundly changed people's life, urban landscape and economy.

To minimize friction, a powerful fan at the front draws air into the tube towards the rear

40

How Zmazon Delivery System Works Zmazon first transport products into New York City by air and then deliver to a specific subway station, each of which functions as a warehouse to store goods. Customers then order goods online, with delivery directly to their home from the nearest warehouse station within 3 minutes. Additionally, Zmazon also combine a recycling system within the delivery system, where users can put their recyclable waste into the recycling box and it will be sent to recycling company directly.

43

Automated Sorting Machines Our high-speed delivery system uses automated machines and magnetic suspension tubes to ensure maximum efficiency. Using advanced technology, the speed of magnetic suspension tube can reach 700 KM/ H. That means customers can get the products they crave within 2 minutes after they order online. Zmazon also apply automated sorting machines in each warehouse, saving both on human resources and overall efficiency.

Robotic Construction Curve cut Wood Brick Study April, 2017 (M.Arch II) Tutor: Sasa Sivkovic Software Involved: Rhinoceros, Grasshopper(KukaPRC)

This project is about wood brick, exerting the advantage o KUKA robot through making curve cuts. Advantatge of traditional clay brick is its standard and simply shape, so that it can almost make any shape of architecture. But when build certain irregular shape manually, the exact position of each brick must be precisely determined. Precise curve surface is hard to cut manually, but is possible to cut through robot. The density, curvature of curve and the height are three basic parameters, through control these parameters, the shape and the transparency of the brick wall can be easily controlled. So the main idea is using entire logs, cut them with no waste and stack the wood bricks to build, no nails and mortar, stand firmly onl take advantage of themselves gravity.
