CLEAN GUIDE
Same Workplace. Same Team. A New Level of Cleaning.
Whether your business operated as work from home for the last several months or at a reduced capacity in the office, transitioning to a full staff coming back to the office poses many challenges when it comes to cleaning and disinfecting in light of COVID-19. While the office parties might be kept at a minimum, allowing employees to return to a schedule can be at the same time relieving and concerning.
What will a normal day in the office look like? Well, the “new” normal will consist of cleaning and disinfecting procedures, social distancing, air filtration, and plenty of hand sanitizer. Luckily, the CDC has released several documents and tools to guide safety precautions allowing businesses to get back to work. There’s no doubt that strict cleaning and disinfection guidelines will mitigate the spread of germs. Certainly, this will need to be a team effort in the office, especially in high congregation areas—conference rooms, elevators, and break rooms. With that, we’ve put together a comprehensive cleaning guide for staff and facility keepers to help keep your workplace clean and germ-free, in turn allowing your business to operate at the fullest potential.

Build Trust in Your Cleanliness Protocols Your business should promote hygiene best practices within the workplace and educate staff about what to do if they become sick. Co-workers and facility managers should always be vigilant in their cleaning efforts—practicing routine cleaning and developing standard cleanliness procedures. This, in turn, can help curb outbreaks and illnesses for employees, allowing for your business to continuously operate.

CLEAN GUIDE
Room-by-room Cleaning Breakdown Cleaning refers to the removal of germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces. It does not kill germs, but by removing them, it lowers their numbers and the risk of spreading infection. Disinfecting/Sanitizing refers to using chemicals, for example, EPA-registered disinfectants, to kill germs on surfaces. By killing germs on a surface after cleaning, it can further lower the risk of spreading infection.

CLEAN GUIDE
Lobbies & Hallways Cleaning & Disinfecting Protocol
Greet your incoming staff with a lobby and hallways that shine. It goes without saying that these high traffic areas will see plenty of use throughout the day. They should be deep cleaned at least once a week, and any major touch points (door handles, elevator buttons) should be disinfected regularly throughout the day. Follow this same procedure for any additional entrances at your workplace. This area should be deep cleaned once a week.

Elevators Cleaning & Disinfecting Protocol
Elevators are frequently used throughout the workday by coworkers. With so much constant use, it’s no surprise that elevators pose a threat of containing germs. Elevator buttons are known to carry an excessive amount of bacteria. Even though staff only use elevators for seconds at a time, elevators should be deep cleaned daily. As a reminder, we encourage staff and coworkers to wipe down the elevator buttons after pushing them. This area should be wiped down after each use and deep cleaned daily.
